Twitter reacts to Commanders’ 2023 schedule

What do fans think of the Commanders’ 2023 schedule?

The schedule release may not be as popular as the NFL draft, but fans still care. For some, it’s about mapping out a schedule to travel to games in the fall. For others, it’s simply putting the schedule before you and marking the Ws and Ls.

The Commanders open up with a game against perhaps the worst team in the NFL: the Arizona Cardinals. They head West in Week 2 for a winnable matchup against the Denver Broncos before meeting a pair of Super Bowl contenders in Weeks 3 [Bills] and 4 [Eagles].

From Week 7 on, Washington faces a difficult slate in which most of the teams on its schedule made the playoffs last season.

Twitter reacts to Michigan football landing WR Channing Goodwin

LET’S GO!!! #GoBlue

Michigan football has the top-ranked class in the 2024 recruiting rankings, but entering Sunday the Wolverines lacked a playmaking wide receiver in the class.

That changed on Sunday afternoon.

The maize and blue landed a top target after a legacy prospect committed to them. Channing Goodwin, the son of former offensive lineman Jonathan Goodwin, committed to Michigan over North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

According to 247Sports composite, Goodwin is a three-star receiver and the 511th-ranked prospect. However, 247Sports itself lists Goodwin as a four-star and the 241st-ranked recruit in the country.

Goodwin hails from the same high school as five-star and current Michigan commit, Jadyn Davis, at Charlotte (North Carolina) Providence Day School.

With the addition to Goodwin, Michigan has 16 recruits committed to it in the 2024 class.

Twitter erupted after Goodwin announced his decision. Here are the best reactions.

Social media reacts to Oklahoma Sooners epic 7th inning comeback win over Oklahoma State

The Oklahoma Sooners rallied in the seventh inning to top Oklahoma State Cowgirls 4-2 and had social media buzzing in the process.

Down 2-0 in the seventh, just when you were counting them out, the Oklahoma Sooners did like they always seem to do; rallied in the seventh inning to beat a rival.

Just like they did on April 1 against the Texas Longhorns, the Oklahoma Sooners overcame a two-run deficit in the seventh to beat another rival. Against Texas, it was Jayda Coleman and Kinzie Hansen coming through in the clutch. On Saturday afternoon in Stillwater, it was Alynah Torres bringing the Sooners within one and Tiare Jennings providing the go-ahead runs on a double to left-center to make it 3-2.

Cydney Sanders provided the insurance run to make it 4-2, and Kierston Deal picked up where she left off in the sixth and worked a 1-2-3 seventh to seal the victory for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Oklahoma moves to 48-1 on the season and remains perfect in Big 12 play at 17-0. They extended their winning streak to 40 games, surpassing their 39-game winning streak from the 2022 season.

With the come-from-behind win, the Oklahoma Sooners clinch the Bedlam series against Oklahoma State. The late-inning effort had Twitter buzzing and here are some of the best reactions from social media.

With Shane Steichen taking over and the Colts adding No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson and free agent Gardner Minshew, it’s a surprise it took this long into the offseason for the move to be made.

The Indianapolis Colts used a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft to select edge rusher Titus Leo out of Wagner College.

Though not a prominent prospect, Leo fits the Colts’ mold of upside edge rushers to a tee. He’s fast, lengthy and explosive. Coming from a smaller school and as an older rookie, he will be competing for one of the final spots in the defensive line room.

The Indianapolis Colts brought in some competition for the backfield during the 2023 NFL draft, selecting Evan Hull out of Northwestern at the end of the fifth round.

Though the running back position wasn’t really a need, it doesn’t hurt to spend a mid-Day 3 pick on a player who can fill a role immediately as a pass-catcher while adding some special teams contribution.

NBA fans roasted James Harden’s ridiculous fuzzy blue outfit ahead of Game 1 vs. Celtics

Harden’s Game 1 look drew comparisons to The Muppets.

NBA players are well-known for making bold fashion statements. These can often range from cutting-edge to flat-out eccentric.

In big games, it’s always turned up a notch, and when you get to the playoffs, it’s time to really open up the playbook. In Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden’s case, that meant donning what can only be described as a fuzzy blue monstrosity while entering TD Garden ahead of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Boston Celtics.

And when I say monstrosity, I mean it literally. He bears a striking resemblance to Cookie Monster. You just have to see it for yourself.

Naturally, it started quite a stir online, and NBA fans had quite a few jokes about Harden’s style.
