Wisconsin football avoids a Friday night Big Ten game in 2024

Wisconsin football avoids a Friday night Big Ten game in 2024:

The Wisconsin Badgers will not play a conference game on Friday night in 2024.

Fox announced its Friday night schedule on Wednesday. It includes nine Big Ten matchups with those games on every Friday from September 20 to November 22. The Badgers are one of only four Big Ten teams to not play in the time slot, along with Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State.

The network’s top Friday games include Iowa at UCLA, Rutgers at USC and Illinois at Nebraska. The slot does not have the Big Ten’s best inventory, to say the least — those contests will be reserved for Fox Big Noon Kickoff, CBS’ Saturday afternoon game and NBC’s Saturday night window.

Wisconsin’s schedule currently has one game time released: September 14 vs. Alabama on Fox Big Noon Kickoff at noon eastern, 11 a.m. central. Our schedule tracker will be updated as more game times are released.

Wisconsin football vs. Alabama Crimson Tide television channel, kickoff time announced

Wisconsin will host Alabama on Fox “Big Noon Kickoff” in Week 3, 2024

Wisconsin football’s 2024 marquee home contest against top-ranked Alabama will be a Fox “Big Noon Kickoff” game the network announced.

The network announced the following three games: Texas at Michigan on Sept. 7, Alabama at Wisconsin on Sept. 14 and the classic Michigan at Ohio State on Nov. 30.

Wisconsin did not play on Fox “Big Noon Kickoff” during the 2022 or 2023 seasons. That was in contrast to 2021, during which it felt as if the Badgers were on the network every week.

2024 sees a renewed outlook for Luke Fickell and the Badgers as well as a jam-packed schedule. Wisconsin hosts Alabama, visits USC, hosts Penn State, visits Iowa and hosts Oregon. The schedule is a challenge, but it will lead to some impressive television slots.

An optimist would look at Wisconsin’s slate, starting with Alabama on Sept. 14, and see a golden opportunity for resume-building wins throughout the year.

Wisconsin will enter the season with high expectations in Year 2 under Luke Fickell and Phil Longo.

Alabama, on the other hand, enters with a new head coach in Kalen DeBoer after college football legend Nick Saban retired this offseason. The Crimson Tide will still be terrific, but they could be beatable while DeBoer installs his program.

The national audience will get to watch Wisconsin go for the upset.

How to watch Wisconsin basketball vs James Madison Dukes in NCAA Tournament round of 64

How to watch Wisconsin basketball vs James Madison Dukes in NCAA Tournament round of 64

Wisconsin basketball opens its 2024 NCAA Tournament with a tough first-round matchup against No. 12-seed James Madison on Friday.

JMU has been a trendy upset pick since the brackets were released. We at Badgers Wire disagree with that notion, and instead see a comfortable Wisconsin victory. Las Vegas agrees with that sentiment and has the Badgers as sizable favorites entering the contest.

IT’S BRACKET MADNESS: Enter USA TODAY’s NCAA tournament bracket contest for a chance at $1 million prize.

Up next for Wisconsin, if it is to beat James Madison, would be a battle with the winner of No. 4 Duke and No. 13 Vermont with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line. Badgers fans do not like the team’s draw, but certainly enjoy the thought of defeating Duke on the way to a deep run.

Greg Gard’s team will need to take care of James Madison before any of that becomes a possibility.

Here is how to watch Friday night’s contest:

  • Date: Friday, March 22, 2024
  • Opponent: No. 12 James Madison
  • Time: 9:40 p.m. ET, 8:40 p.m. CT
  • TV Channel: CBS, Paramount+ (stream)

How to watch Wisconsin’s regular-season finale at No. 3 Purdue Boilermakers

How to watch Wisconsin’s regular-season finale vs No. 3 Purdue Boilermakers

Wisconsin returns to the hardwood to close out its regular season Sunday afternoon at No. 3 Purdue.

The Badgers are off a resilient 78-66 home win over Rutgers. It wasn’t a smooth, coast-to-coast win, but it was one Greg Gard’s team desperately needed entering postseason play.

Purdue, on the other hand, is 27-3 on the season and 16-3 in conference play. It just went to No. 12 Illinois and escaped with a 77-71 win, clinching the outright Big Ten regular season title for the second consecutive year.

Wisconsin needs a heroic effort from the entire roster to somehow steal a win at Purdue this weekend.

Here is how to watch the Badgers final contest of the 2023-24 regular season.

How to watch Wisconsin basketball vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

How to watch Wisconsin basketball vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Wisconsin basketball returns to the hardwood Thursday for a rematch against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

The first meeting between these two teams did not go well for Wisconsin — a 78-56 blowout loss on the road at Jersey Mike’s Arena.

Realistically, nothing has gone the Badgers’ way since the start of February. Greg Gard’s team is 2-7 in its last nine contests, falling out of the top four seeds in the Big Ten and almost assuredly out of the top four seed-lines in the NCAA Tournament.

What the Badgers need is momentum, any bit of momentum entering postseason play. The team first gets a chance to do so against a Rutgers team that is now 15-14 on the season and 7-11 in Big Ten play.

Here’s how to watch Wisconsin’s home contest against Rutgers:

  • Date: Thursday, March 7, 2024
  • Time: 7 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. CT
  • TV Channel: Fox Sports 1

Wisconsin’s game against Ohio State will only be available on one streaming platform

Wisconsin’s game against Ohio State will only be available on one streaming platform

The Wisconsin Badgers (16-8, 8-5 Big Ten) return to the court tonight against the Ohio State Buckeyes (14-10, 4-9 Big Ten) desperately in need of a win.

Well, there may be a limited number of people who will be able to watch the game. It will be exclusively available on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service.

The Badgers have played Peacock games this season so far, including home against Tennessee and at Michigan State. The Badgers football team also played Rutgers at home exclusively broadcast on the streaming service.

[lawrence-related id=70791,70751,70813]

Like it or not, this is the path of sports in today’s age. The NFL had a playoff game exclusively on Peacock, Thursday Night Football is on Amazon Prime Video and many lower-level sporting events are only on ESPN+.

Badgers fans may already have Peacock because of the earlier games on the service. If not, a subscription costs $5.99 per month, or $59.99 for the entire year.

The Badgers and Buckeyes tip off at 9 p.m. eastern, 8 p.m. central.

Wisconsin, amid a four-game losing streak, needs a decisive win in the worst way.

How to watch Wisconsin basketball at Michigan

How to watch Wisconsin basketball at Michigan

Wisconsin basketball needs a bounce-back week in the worst way. The Badgers went 0-2 during the last 7-day stretch with tough losses at Nebraska and at home against Purdue.

The good news: the schedule now gets a bit easier and might allow for that to be possible. The bad news: the Badgers must now go on the road for three of its next for games — at Michigan, at Rutgers, vs Ohio State and at Iowa.

Greg Gard’s team gets it started tomorrow night when it visits the 7-15 (2-9 Big Ten) Michigan Wolverines — clearly the worst team in the conference.

Michigan is KenPom’s No. 101 team in the nation and has lost five consecutive games and 10 of its last 11. The program is spiraling under head coach Juwan Howard, and fast.

It’s safe to say Wisconsin needs to exit Ann Arbor with a win on Wednesday. Here is how to watch the contest:

  • Date: Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024
  • Time: 7 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. CT
  • TV Channel: Big Ten Network

How to watch Wisconsin basketball vs No. 2 Purdue

There is a season-defining game at the Kohl Center on Sunday afternoon. The No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers (16-5, 8-2 Big Ten) welcome in the No. 2 Purdue Boilermakers (20-2, 9-2 Big Ten) for a chance for supremacy in the Big Ten.

The Badgers had previously led the Big Ten standings for much of the season. The Boilermakers finally overtook first place last night when the Badgers’ overtime loss at Nebraska dropped them from a tie for first to 0.5 games back.

Now, the eyes of the nation will be on Madison, Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon as these two Final Four contenders square off.

Here is how to watch Sunday’s game:

  • Date: Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET, noon CT
  • TV Channel: CBS, or streaming on Paramount+
