Nashville Predators at Boston Bruins odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s Nashville Predators at Boston Bruins sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Nashville Predators (16-12-6) and Boston Bruins (21-7-8) square off at TD Garden in Boston at 7 p.m. ET Saturday. We analyze the Predators-Bruins sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips.

Predators at Bruins: Projected starting goalies

Pekka Rinne vs. Tuukka Rask

Rinne has been a little more giving than in past years, posting a 2.99 goals against average and .894 save percentage, but he still has a rather impressive 11-5-3 record overall.

Rask has been a lot more consistent, going 13-4-5 with a 2.29 GAA and .922 save percentage this season. However, he enters on a 0-2-3 personal skid, dropping two overtime games, and a shootout while coming out on the short end of four one-goal games.

Prediction

Predators 4, Bruins 3

Moneyline (ML)

The PREDATORS (+135) are a nice small-unit play on the road, as Rask isn’t doing very well. While yes, he is due for a win, backing the Bruins (-162) doesn’t make a lot of sense. Plus, Nashville is 5-1 in the past six as a road underdog, and 4-1 in the past five against teams with a winning overall record.

New to sports betting? Every $10 wagered for the Predators to win in regulation, overtime or a shootout would profit $13.50 if they do so.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Predators (+1.5, -209) are too expensive on the road, and the B’s (-1.5, +170) aren’t going to beat Rinne by two goals. AVOID.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 5.5 (-134) is the play here. The total has gone Over in four straight on the road for the boys from Music City while going 4-0-1 in the past five overall. The Under is 3-1-1 in the past five overall for the B’s, but the Over is 3-1-1 in their past five against Western Conference foes.

Los Angeles Kings at Boston Bruins odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Tuesday’s Los Angeles Kings at Boston Bruins sports betting odds and lines, with NHL betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Los Angeles Kings (14-18-3) and Boston Bruins (21-7-6) lock horns at TD Garden at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday. We analyze the Kings-Bruins sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips.

Kings at Bruins: Projected starting goalies

Jonathan Quick vs. Tuukka Rask

Quick kicked off the road trip with a win in Anaheim on Thursday, but he took it on the chin in Pittsburgh in a 5-4 shootout loss Saturday, making 23 saves on 27 shots. He enters 9-12-2 overall with a 3.06 goals against average and .891 save percentage.

Rask comes into Tuesday 13-4-3 with a 2.24 GAA and .926 SV% and two shutouts. The Finnish native enters on a personal three-game losing skid, going 0-2-1, including a home loss against the Blackhawks in overtime Dec. 5.

Prediction

Bruins 5, Kings 2

Moneyline (ML)

The Bruins (-250) are going to win this game, but risking two-and-a-half times the return is just not good business. Even if you win five out of every seven of those types of bets you’re still just breaking even despite a 71.4 winning percentage. Not good.

New to sports betting? Every $10 wagered for the Bruins to win in regulation, overtime or a shootout would profit $4 if they do so.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

BRUINS (-1.5, +115) on the puck line is the way to go, as they’re at home and Rask is due for a good showing, too. The Kings are the perfect elixir to cure the ills of the B’s, as L.A. is 1-5 in the past six in this series, and 2-5 in the past seven trips to Beantown.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 4.5 (-223) is an intriguing line on BetMGM. Quick has been routinely giving up big goal totals, and the B’s could take care of the total on their own if RW David Pastrnak and company are on their game. It’s worth a roll of the dice.

Colorado Avalanche at Boston Bruins odds, picks and best bets

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Avalanche at Boston Bruins matchup, with NHL betting odds, picks and best bets

The Colorado Avalanche (18-8-2) and Boston Bruins (20-3-6) lock horns Saturday evening at 7 p.m. ET at TD Garden in Beantown. We analyze the Avalanche-Bruins sports betting odds and lines, with NHL matchup analysis, picks and tips.

Avalanche at Bruins: Projected starting goalies

Philipp Grubauer vs. Tuukka Rask

Grubauer checks in with a 10-5-2 record, 2.75 goals-against average and .916 save percentage. He enters on a three-game win streak, allowing a total of five goals on 91 shots, including a 39-save win at Toronto Wednesday, 3-1.

Rask will patrol the crease for the B’s, putting his impressive 13-2-3 record, 2.15 GAA and .929 save percentage on the line.

Prediction

Avalanche 4, Bruins 3

Moneyline (ML)

It’s one of my favorite wagers every season, even when the AVALANCHE (+125) haven’t been very good. Colorado enters with a 5-1 mark across the past six against the Bruins (-154), while the Avs are 10-1 in the past 11 trips to Boston.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on Colorado to pull the upset returns a $12.50 profit with an Avs win.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Since I’m backing the underdog, there is no sense betting the spread. The Avalanche (+1.5, -209) is just too expensive, and the Bruins (-1.5, +170) isn’t worth a play since I like Colorado to continue their winning ways in Boston.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 5.5 (-150) is worth a small-unit bet, as Grubauer and Rask are likely to face plenty of shots in this one. The over is 5-1-1 in the past seven for Colorado on a day of rest, while the over is 4-1 in Boston’s past five against teams with a winning record over .600.
