Spire Motorsports expands Connor Zilisch’s schedule in NASCAR Truck Series

Spire Motorsports announced that it has expanded Connor Zilisch’s schedule in the No. 7 truck during the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season.

[autotag]Connor Zilisch[/autotag] made his NASCAR Truck Series debut with Spire Motorsports at Circuit of the Americas, which was very impressive. Zilisch blew out the competition for the pole position and finished in fourth place despite several mistakes throughout the day. Now, the 17-year-old driver will have more opportunities in the No. 7 truck.

[autotag]Spire Motorsports[/autotag] announced on Thursday morning that Zilisch’s schedule in the No. 7 truck has expanded for five more races in 2024. Zilisch will drive the entry at Richmond Raceway on August 10, Bristol Motor Speedway on September 19, Talladega Superspeedway on October 4, Homestead-Miami Speedway on October 26, and Martinsville Speedway on November 1.

Zilisch is considered one of NASCAR’s best talents after signing with Trackhouse Racing during the offseason. Due to Spire Motorsports and Trackhouse Racing’s relationship, seeing this become a full-time gig in 2025 wouldn’t be surprising. For now, Zilisch will have to wait for his oval debut in NASCAR, but it will be well worth it come August.

Connor Mosack joins Spire Motorsports in NASCAR Truck Series in 2024

Spire Motorsports announced on Tuesday that Connor Mosack will drive the No. 7 truck in select races during the 2024 Truck Series season.

[autotag]Connor Mosack[/autotag] has a multi-race slate in the No. 45 truck for Niece Motorsports during the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season; however, the young driver has added races with another organization. On Tuesday morning, Spire Motorsports announced that Mosack will drive the No. 7 truck in select races throughout 2024.

The 25-year-old driver has made one start with Niece Motorsports in 2024, finishing 19th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. For Spire Motorsports, Moscak will drive the entry at Kansas Speedway on May 4 and September 27, Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 24, Pocono Raceway on July 12, and Homestead-Miami Speedway on October 26.

Mosack will continue to make his starts with Niece Motorsports, but this is another good opportunity to display his talent to the NASCAR world. The No. 7 truck for Spire Motorsports has been fast throughout the year and should only get better. Mosack has a good opportunity at Kansas, and it will be fascinating to see how he takes advantage of it.

Brett Moffitt returns to NASCAR with TRICON Garage in 2024

Brett Moffitt will return to the NASCAR Truck Series with a multi-race schedule in the No. 1 truck for TRICON Garage in 2024.

[autotag]Brett Moffitt[/autotag] didn’t start the 2024 NASCAR season at Daytona International Speedway despite being one of two notable full-time drivers from 2023 not to have a ride. The other was Matt DiBenedetto, who now drives part-time for Viking Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. However, Moffitt finally has the opportunity to return to the race track.

TRICON Garage announced on Tuesday morning that Moffitt will drive the No. 1 truck in select races during the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season. The 2018 Truck Series champion will start his schedule at Kansas Speedway on May 4, with the other races unannounced as of now. It’s unclear how many events Moffit will run with TRICON Garage.

It is good to see Moffitt back behind the wheel in the Truck Series after winning the fall race at Talladega Superspeedway with Front Row Motorsports. Moffitt’s exclusion from NASCAR was surprising after a good 2023 season, so it will be crucial to prove himself with TRICON Garage in his select opportunities.

NASCAR’s weather forecast for Texas Motor Speedway in April 2024

Take a look at NASCAR’s weather forecast for the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway in April 2024!

NASCAR is heading to Texas Motor Speedway for a Sunday afternoon show that hopefully will feature more passing opportunities than last week. The last seven weekends have featured sunny or cloudy skies throughout the racing, with some notable winds in a few of those races. Now, NASCAR hopes to bring that clear weather to Texas on Sunday afternoon.

According to Weather.com, the weather forecast at Texas Motor Speedway calls for a high of 82ยฐ and partly cloudy skies on Sunday. On Saturday, the high will be 81ยฐย during the day, and the winds could be an issue throughout the weekend. The forecast calls for 22 miles per hour winds on Saturday and 17 miles per hour winds on Sunday.

The sport is ready to take on Texas, representing its only date during the 2024 season. With good weather in the forecast, NASCAR teams and drivers won’t have to worry about delays or postponements. It may be windy, but a few events in 2024 have been the same way. The only race at Texas has arrived, and there are a lot of eyes on the on-track action this weekend.

Stewart Friesen, Chili’s partner for NASCAR Truck Series race at Texas

Stewart Friesen and Chili’s have partnered for this weekend’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

[autotag]Stewart Friesen[/autotag] has found a new sponsor for this weekend’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. On Tuesday morning, Halmar Friesen Racing announced that Chili’s will partner with Friesen and the No. 52 team in the Truck Series race at Texas. This isn’t Chili’s first NASCAR race in 2024 after sponsoring Corey LaJoie in the Daytona 500.

Friesen’s paint scheme features Chili’s entire menu on the truck as the company sold a record number of margaritas following its racing debut earlier in the year. This is a unique look, as not many race teams run a sponsor with its menu as the paint scheme. For Friesen, this is a great opportunity to capitalize on Chili’s love of racing after its debut.

The Halmar Friesen Racing driver has struggled to start the 2024 Truck Serie season. Friesen has a best finish of 14th place at Daytona International Speedway through six races. On non-superspeedway tracks, his best finish is 18th place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Friesen has struggled for a second straight year but the race at Texas is an opportunity to turn it around.

Johnny Sauter returns to Niece Motorsports for Truck race at Texas

Niece Motorsports announced on Monday that Johnny Sauter will drive the No. 45 truck in the Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

[autotag]Johnny Sauter[/autotag] is no longer full-time in the NASCAR Truck Series; however, at 45 years old, that doesn’t mean he will stop racing soon. On Monday afternoon, [autotag]Niece Motorsports[/autotag] announced that Sauter will drive the No. 45 truck in this weekend’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

The former ThorSport Racing driver competed in the Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway earlier in the season and did well. Sauter led 24 laps and had a truck capable of winning; however, he was involved in a crash and finished in 29th place. Now, Sauter gets another opportunity for Niece Motorsports as he searches for his first win since 2019.

Sauter still has the talent to compete in the Truck Series, but the grind of a full NASCAR schedule is hard for a driver at 45 years old. Perhaps the 2016 Truck Series champion will race in even more events moving forward. Sauter can still race for wins, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see the No. 45 truck for Niece Motorsports in victory lane at Texas.

Cam Waters set for NASCAR debut with ThorSport Racing at Martinsville

Cam Waters is scheduled to make his NASCAR debut with ThorSport Racing in the Truck Series event at Martinsville Speedway.

NASCAR is going to Martinsville Speedway this weekend, which means it is a prime time for drivers to debut. The 0.526-mile track is good for new drivers, including those experienced in racing but not at one of NASCAR’s top levels. For example, one driver who is 29 years old is scheduled to make their debut this weekend.

[autotag]Cam Waters[/autotag] will drive the No. 66 truck for [autotag]ThorSport Racing[/autotag] in the NASCAR Truck Series race at Martinsville. Waters competes in the Supercars Championship, with 258 starts to his name. The Supercars driver has 11 wins, 45 podiums, and 23 pole positions throughout his career. Waters joins a growing group of drivers from Supercars to make a NASCAR start.

It will be fascinating to watch Waters make his NASCAR debut, as ThorSport Racing has good equipment in the Truck Series. Waters shouldn’t be expected to win in his debut like Shane van Gisbergen at the Chicago Street Course, but a good run on Friday night could lead to more NASCAR starts in the future.
