Alabama baseball wins a late night thriller 11-8 over Troy!

For the second night in a row, the Alabama baseball team delivered an emotional, hard-fought win to fans of the Crimson Tide. After a walk-off RBI single on Friday night from Jim Jarvis against Nicholls, Alabama made a ninth-inning comeback over Troy to defeat the Trojans 11-8.

In the top of the ninth with two outs and trailing Troy 8-7, Alabama had runners on second and third when Tommy Seidl hit a routine grounder to short but the throw to first was off allowing the two runners to score and giving Alabama a 9-8 lead. Alabama would add another pair of insurance runs to give them an 11-8 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth where Alton Davis II earned the save.

Alabama will now face the winner of Boston College vs. Troy late on Sunday night for a chance to win the Tuscaloosa Regional!

Friday night, Alabama hit a walk-off RBI single to defeat Nicholls and then on Saturday night, the Crimson Tide won another thriller 11-8 against the Troy Trojans.

Nicholls how now been eliminated following its loss on Saturday to Boston College, so the region now features just Alabama, Boston College, and Troy. Alabama is the only team that has not lost yet.

Friday was a special moment in Alabama baseball history as the Crimson Tide hosted its first regional since the 2006 season.

For the fans in Tuscaloosa, Friday turned into a fun and dramatic day on the diamond. In game one between Troy and Boston College, the bats were hot as the Trojans unexpectedly defeated the Eagles 11-10. In game two, Jim Jarvis of Alabama delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to break a 3-3 tie and give the Tide a 4-3 win over Nicholls.

Alabama’s hot finish under interim head coach Jason Jackson helped propel the Tide to win 10 of its last 14 games of the season.
