Former Michigan State football WR enters transfer portal for a fourth time

Former Michigan State wide receiver enters the transfer portal for a fourth time

It doesn’t seem like things have gone according to plan for former Michigan State football wide receiver Tre’Von Morgan. Morgan spent two seasons with MSU before transferring to Kentucky. After just one season, Morgan transferred to Miami of Ohio back in January of this year. Now, he will enter the transfer portal for a fourth time to find a new home.

Morgan showed some promise at MSU with his impressive size, particularly in a memorable match-up against Penn State, but he wasn’t able to get on the field at Kentucky due to injury. It’s unclear if those issues are related to him deciding to leave Miami of Ohio after just a few short months, but it will be interesting to see where he goes next as he does fit the mold of a dynamic touchdown threat.

Michigan State gained a commitment from Tre’Von Morgan, a 4-star wide receiver from Massilon, Ohio, in their 2019 recruiting class. This was a huge recruiting win at the time for Michigan State, as Morgan brought a new dynamic to the offense being a crazy athlete while standing at 6-foot-6.

Spartan fans got a glimpse of what Morgan could bring to the football field at the end of the 2020 season when he made a catch-of-the-year candidate touchdown against Penn State.

Unfortunately, Morgan made the decision to enter the transfer portal after last season, eventually transferring to Kentucky. Morgan is now in the transfer portal once again, leaving Kentucky after one season.

Morgan was a member of the 2019 recruiting class, rated as a high 3-star prospect. He now joins five other members of that recruiting class that have transferred from the program.

Morgan was a player that a lot of people saw huge potential in, standing at 6-foot-7 and having serious athleticism, it was something that raised an eyebrow. His potential will be missed, but if there is one position group filled with talent, it is the wide receivers.
