6 Bills players named in ESPN’s ‘all-conference’ college teams

Buffalo Bills players Micah Hyde, Tre’Davious White, Quinton Spain, Jerry Hughes, Ed Oliver, Tremaine Edmunds on ESPN all-conference teams.

ESPN went through the top college football conferences and created rosters for each consisting of the best players from them currently in the NFL. The exercise was called the naming the “all-conference” college teams.

After doing so, the world-wide leader ranked the rosters from the Power-5 conferences and added another roster consisting of players not from Power-5 schools. All were put all six head-to-head. Within these six rosters, six members of the current Buffalo Bills appear.

Starting from the bottom, the non-Power 5 team was ranked last, which comes as little surprise. Still, it’s an impressive roster and being named to the roster was Ed Oliver (Houston). Along with Oliver, another Buffalo-relation was found, Bears pass rusher Khalil Mack, who attended the University at Buffalo.

Next up, the Big 12 finished in fifth and two Bills players made this roster. First, offensive lineman Quinton Spain (West Virginia) finds a spot on offense. Then on defense, Jerry Hughes (TCU) is selected. While no longer on the Bills, Jordan Phillips (Oklahoma) makes this roster as well, who earned this honor most-likely because of his 9.5 sack season with the Bills in 2019. He signed with the Cardinals this offseason.

In No. 4 lands the Pac-12. The Bills have no connections on the roster, but a Buffalo native does via Rob Gronkowski (Arizona). Moving on to the third-best team, the ACC slides in, sporting Tremaine Edmunds (Virginia) on their squad.

Just missing the top spot is the SEC at No. 2. Tre’Davious White (LSU) is part of an excellent secondary on this team.

And finally, the top all-conference squad gets some help from the Bills as well. Micah Hyde (Iowa) helps push the Big Ten into the top-overall spot.

In addition to ESPN naming their all-conference teams, the outlet named three all-school teams for Alabama, Ohio State and LSU, who also has White on their roster.
