Ottawa Redblacks at Toronto Argonauts odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Ottawa Redblacks at Toronto Argonauts Week 10 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Ottawa Redblacks (3-5) travel to meet the Toronto Argonauts (6-1) Sunday in Week 10 CFL action. Kickoff from BMO Field is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CFL+/TSN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Redblacks vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Redblacks were tripped up 26-24 in Week 9 at the Saskatchewan Roughriders, failing to cover as 2.5-point favorites as the Over (44.5) connected. Ottawa has dropped back-to-back games for the first time since Weeks 1-2. The Redblacks are just 3-5 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS).

The Over has hit in 3 of Ottawa’s past 4 outings after the Under cashed in its first 4 outings.

The Argonauts dropped their first game of the season in Week 9, falling 20-7 at the Calgary Stampeders last week. It was also Toronto’s first non-cover after opening 6-0 ATS. The Under has cashed in 3 in a row for Toronto as it has coughed up just 16.0 points per game (PPG) in the past 3 contests.

The road team has won 4 straight meetings in this series while cashing in each of the past 3 against the number. The Under is 3-1 in the past 4 meetings, too.

Redblacks at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 32, Redblacks 18

Moneyline

The Argonauts (-450) will cost you 4 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not enough reward. Even including Toronto straight up as part of a multi-team parlay would suck all of the value out of your ticket.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The Redblacks +10 (-110) are just 1-4 ATS in the past 5 against winning teams and have failed to cash in the past 4 against teams from the East Division. In addition, the Redblacks are just 2-6 ATS in the past 8 tries against the ARGONAUTS -10 (-110), while going 1-4 ATS in the past 5 trips to T-Dot.

On the flip side, Toronto has cashed in 4 in a row at home and is 8-1 ATS in the past 9 games dating back to last season. The Argos are going to be hopping mad after getting embarrassed in Calgary last week, and Ottawa is going to be the whipping post.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

OVER 47.5 (-110) is the lean, but go lightly.

The Under has cashed in 4 in a row for Ottawa against East Division teams and cashed in 6 of its last 7 outings in August. However, it’s all about the Over for Toronto, going 14-5 in the past 19 games following a straight-up loss.

The Redblacks rank dead-last in the CFL, allowing 314.6 passing yards per game and coughing up 23.0 PPG. The Argos should take it to them.

Toronto Argonauts at Calgary Stampeders odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Toronto Argonauts at Calgary Stampeders Week 9 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Argonauts (6-0) and Calgary Stampeders (2-5) meet Friday at McMahon Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (CFL+/TSN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Argonauts vs. Stampeders odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Argonauts improved to 6-0 against the spread (ATS) after covering as 10-point favorites with a 31-13 win vs. the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Huskies Stadium in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Saturday.

The Stampeders failed to cover as 1.5-point underdogs in a 25-18 loss at the Montreal Alouettes Sunday. Calgary is 2-5 ATS this season and has only covered in its outright wins.

Calgary went 2-0 straight up vs. Toronto last season, going 1-0-1 ATS as the Under hit in both meetings.

Argonauts at Stampeders picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 26, Stampeders 15

Moneyline

It’s unlikely that Toronto (-400) would lose to Calgary for a 3rd straight time. However, there’s no need to pay the higher price on the moneyline when the Argonauts should win by margin.

PASS. Lay the points and/or bet the total instead.

Against the spread

Toronto should get its revenge Friday after losing both meetings vs. Calgary last season. The 2022 Grey Cup champions are undefeated ATS this year and continue to outperform expectations.

Calgary has failed to cover in back-to-back games and I see no need to question the Argonauts’ motivation to win by margin Friday after getting blown out 29-2 in the last meeting on October 1, 2022.

Calgary’s home-field advantage also shouldn’t be anything to worry about for Argonauts backers as the Stampeders are just 7-22 ATS in their last 29 home games.

BET ARGONAUTS -8.5 (-110).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The Under has hit in the last 5 meetings between these teams.

The Under has also hit in back-to-back contests for the Argonauts, who have allowed a total of just 28 points over the last 2 games. Look for Toronto’s defense to continue its dominant play Friday and to help the Under cash once again.

BET UNDER 51.5 (-110).

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Toronto Argonauts odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Toronto Argonauts Week 8 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-3) and Toronto Argonauts (5-0) meet Saturday at Huskies Stadium in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network/TSN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Roughriders vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Roughriders pushed as 10-point underdogs in a 19-9 loss at the BC Lions last Saturday. QB Mason Fine went 32-of-41 passing for 284 yards and 2 INTs in his 1st start of the season. Saskatchewan is 2-0-1 against the spread (ATS) away from home.

The Argonauts improved to 5-0 ATS after covering as 10.5-point favorites with a 31-15 win at the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on July 21. Toronto is winning games by an average margin of 15.0 points this season.

Roughriders vs. Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 21, Roughriders 15

Moneyline

The Argonauts (-500) should stay undefeated, but they’re being slightly overvalued on a neutral field.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or the total instead.

Against the spread

The Roughriders have been playing above expectations away from home and should continue to do so Saturday in Halifax. Saskatchewan has allowed fewer than 20 points in 2 of its last 3 contests and should be able to cover this number in a low-scoring game.

BET ROUGHRIDERS +10.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Under is 7-3-1 in Saskatchewan’s last 11 games vs. teams with a winning record.

The Argonauts are averaging 37.2 points per game this season, but 2 of those games were vs. the injury-riddled Tiger-Cats and 1 was against the winless Edmonton Elks. Look for Toronto’s offense to come back down to Earth Saturday vs. this underrated Saskatchewan defense.

BET UNDER 47.5 (-110).

Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger-Cats odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger-Cats Week 7 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Argonauts (4-0) and Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-3) meet Friday at Tim Hortons Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (CFL+/TSN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Argonauts vs. Tiger-Cats odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Argonauts improved to 4-0 against the spread (ATS) after covering as 6-point favorites with a 35-27 win at the Montreal Alouettes last Friday. Pro Football Focus gave QB Chad Kelly a grade of 93.4, the highest single-game grade by any player this season, after going 21-of-25 passing with 351 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT.

The Tiger-Cats covered as 1-point underdogs with a 37-29 win at the Edmonton Elks July 13. Hamilton opened as a 2.5-point favorite at most books, before the line eventually moved toward Edmonton.

It was announced Tuesday that Tiger-Cats backup QB Matthew Shiltz (hip) will join 1st-string QB Bo Levi Mitchell (lower-body injury) on the 6-game injured list. QB Taylor Powell will make his 1st start in the CFL Friday.

In the 1st meeting this season between these teams, Toronto won 32-14 as a 2.5-point home underdog June 18. The Argonauts have won and covered vs. Hamilton in each of the last 3 meetings.

Argonauts at Tiger-Cats picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 35, Tiger-Cats 24

Moneyline

Toronto (-450) should beat Hamilton for a 4th straight time, but there’s no need to pay the higher price on the moneyline when the Argonauts should win by margin.

PASS. Look to the spread and/or the total instead.

Against the spread

The Argonauts have picked up right where they left off after winning the 109th Grey Cup last season. Toronto is undefeated ATS and Kelly has looked like a top-4 QB in the CFL this season.

While the Tiger-Cats have looked better in their last 2 games, they have struggled vs. the Argonauts in the last 3 meetings. To make matters worse, Hamilton will be rolling out Powell in his 1st CFL start vs. an Argonauts defense that leads the league with 13 takeaways.

While I do believe Toronto will cover this number, I liked it a lot more when the Argonauts were just 7-point favorites up until Thursday morning.

LEAN ARGONAUTS -9.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Toronto leads the CFL with 17 TDs and the Over has hit in each of its last 3 games.

Hamilton’s opponents have scored an average of 30.8 points per game this season and the Tiger-Cats should struggle to contain 1 of the best offenses in the league in the Argonauts.

While I don’t expect the Tiger-Cats to match pace with the Argonauts, Toronto should be able to do most of the heavy lifting offensively to help the Over hit Friday.

BET OVER 50.5 (-110).

Toronto Argonauts at Montreal Alouettes odds, picks and predictions

The Argonauts have opened the season with 3 straight wins, all by double digits. They last played July 3 in a 45-24 home win over the BC Lions as 3-point underdogs as the Over (47.5) cashed.

The Alouettes opened the season with 2 straight wins but have lost their last 2 outings. They failed to cover as 7.5-point underdogs in a 35-19 loss to the Lions on Sunday as the Over (44.5) cashed.

Argonauts at Alouettes picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 43, Alouettes 27

Moneyline

The Argonauts have averaged 40.0 points a game and have won every game but double digits. The Alouettes have failed to score 20 points in 3 of 4 games this season.

No one has shown the ability to slow the Toronto (-240) offense yet, so the Argonauts should be the pick, but the moneyline is not worth the action unless it is a leg of a parlay bet.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Argonauts are 3-0 ATS to start the season and have covered 5 straight dating back to last season.

Montreal is 2-2 ATS, covering the spread in their 2 wins and failing to do so in their 2 losses. They have lost 2 straight games by at least 14 points.

BET ARGONAUTS -5.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The Over cashed in the Argonauts’ last 2 games, going over the projected total by more than 20 points in each outing. They are averaging 40.0 points per game and have put up 43 and 45 points in their last 2 contests.

Montreal averages 19.8 points per game and has scored at exactly 19 points on 2 occasions. However, just one score from Montreal might be enough to cash the Over if Toronto keeps up its pace.

BET OVER 47.5 (-120).

Lions at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Lions 27, Argonauts 13

Moneyline

The Lions’ defense has been tremendous. They have allowed 20 fewer points than any other team and 24 fewer than the Argonauts despite playing 1 more game.

The Argonauts have not scored fewer than 32 points and the Lions have not allowed more than 15. BC shut down a Winnipeg team that had scored 42 or more through 2 weeks, holding them to only 6.

I like BC to win but at -170 odds, you have a better play with the spread.

PASS.

Against the spread

After a 10-point win to open the season, the Lions have won by 22 and 24 points respectively. They are 3-0 ATS.

The Argonauts have won both games by double digits. They are 2-0 ATS.

But after seeing BC take down Winnipeg’s offense, they have 3 weeks of dominant defensive play.

BET LIONS -3 (-115).

Over/Under

The Lions have not had a game this season surpass 40 points. Their last 2 games had totals of 22 and 36 points. The Argonauts are 1-1 O/U. Their 2 games have had totals of 46 and 74.

No team through three weeks has been able to crack 20 points against the Lions and the Lions have not scored more than 30 this season.

BET UNDER 47.5 (-110).

Toronto Argonauts at Edmonton Elks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Toronto Argonauts at Edmonton Elks odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Argonauts (1-0) and the Edmonton Elks (0-2) meet Sunday at Commonwealth Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Argonauts vs. Elks odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Argonauts routed the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 2 by a 32-14 score as a 2.5-point underdog in the team’s opener, while narrowly cashing the Under (47) at most shops. Toronto rolled up 110 rushing yards on 4.6 yards per attempt, while throwing for 213 yards in the opening game victory.

The Elks have been awful in two games to date, losing 17-13 at home against the Saskatchewan Roughriders before losing 22-0 at the BC Lions in Week 2. Edmonton has failed to cover both games, and the Under has cashed in each outing.

Toronto won the only meeting last season, winning 28-23, although Edmonton did cover at home as a 6-point underdog as the Over (50.5) cashed. The Elks have actually cashed in each of the past 4 meetings, while the Under is 4-2 in the previous 6 encounters.

Argonauts at Elks picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 23, Elks 11

Moneyline

Toronto (-275) will cost you over 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s quite expensive for a road team. Even though Edmonton (+220) has been hot garbage to date, you cannot risk that kind of money for such a small return. There is just no value playing heavy favorites like that over the long term.

PASS.

Against the spread

TORONTO -6.5 (-110) is worth playing, laying the points. Edmonton +6.5 (-110) has failed to cover in each of the previous outings, and the Elks have mustered just 6.5 PPG in two games so far.

The defense for Edmonton hasn’t been terrible, but the offense is God awful. Back the Argos for the win.

Over/Under

UNDER 44.5 (-110) is the lean.

The Elks have cashed the Under in each game, as we have seen an average of just 26.0 PPG combined in two games for Edmonton.

The Under cashed, just barely, for Toronto in its Week 2 season opener. The defense allowed just 14 points against the Ti-Cats, and that’s not good news for the struggling Elks offense.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-1) and the Toronto Argonauts (0-0) battle Sunday at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tiger-Cats vs. Argonauts odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The good news is that the Ti-Cats were able to score 31 points last weekend, the 2nd-highest total in the CFL in Week 1. The bad news is that Hamilton allowed 41 points to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in a road loss, failing to cover the 4.5-point spread as the Over (46.5) cashed by a mile.

The Ti-Cats D was gouged for 354 passing yards, while also allowing 138 yards on the ground. Hamilton allowed 7.7 yards per play to the Bombers, and that simply will not do against the defending Grey Cup champs.

The Argonauts are well rested, having a bye in Week 1. Toronto is the last CFL team to make its regular-season debut, and it has had plenty of time to devise a plan for Hamilton. Toronto won 3 of the 4 meetings last season, while also going 3-1 ATS as the Over connected 3 times.

In the most recent matchup at BMO Field in Toronto, the Argos topped the Ti-Cats 37-20 on Aug. 26, 2022, to win outright as a 1-point underdog while the Over (48) comfortably cashed.

Tiger-Cats at Argonauts picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 27, Tiger-Cats 22

Moneyline

TORONTO (+115) has a pretty lengthy injury report, and missing Ambles and Muamba will be big losses for the defending champs.

However, to say again, this is the defending champs, at home, after plenty of rest. The Argonauts owned the Ti-Cats last season, and there is no reason to really like what we saw from Hamilton last season. Winnipeg went through this defense like a hot knife through butter, and Toronto should have plenty of success moving the ball in its initial outing of the 2023 CFL campaign.

Against the spread

TORONTO +2.5 (-115) will cost you a little more than the moneyline, but if you believe it will be a super close game, then it is worth a little bit of insurance, I guess.

Personally, I like the moneyline play much better, as each of the past 6 in this series has been decided by 7 or more points.

Over/Under

OVER 46.5 (-110) is the lean, but go lightly.

We haven’t seen Toronto this season, but we got a good look at Hamilton. It was trucked for huge chunks of real estate each play against Winnipeg last weekend. Until the Ti-Cats show vast improvement defensively, keep playing Overs when they’re involved. The Over is 4-1 in the past 5 meetings in this series, too, including each of the past 2 in T-Dot.

109th Grey Cup: Toronto Argonauts vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Toronto Argonauts vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers Grey Cup odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Toronto Argonauts and Winnipeg Blue Bombers meet in the 109th Grey Cup Sunday at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET. (TSN/RDS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s‘ lines around the Argonauts vs. Blue Bombers odds, and make our expert CFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Argonauts covered the spread as 4-point home favorites in a 34-27 East Division final win vs. the Montreal Alouettes last Sunday. QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson threw 2 TDs as the Over (48) hit for the 3rd time in Toronto’s last 4 games.

Bethel-Thompson was the backup in the Argonauts’ last Grey Cup appearance, a 27-24 win as 7-point underdogs vs. the Calgary Stampeders in 2017.

The defending 2-time Grey Cup champion Blue Bombers covered as 4-point home favorites in a 28-20 West Division final win vs. the BC Lions last Sunday. QB Zach Collaros exited with an ankle injury in the final 2 minutes, but said he’ll be ready to play Sunday.

Winnipeg covered as a 2.5-point favorite in its most recent Grey Cup win, a 33-25 victory at the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2021.

Argonauts vs. Blue Bombers picks and predictions

Prediction

Argonauts 21, Blue Bombers 20

Moneyline

Sprinkle on ARGONAUTS (+180).

It is uncommon for teams to 3-peat in the CFL. The last team to win 3-plus consecutive Grey Cups was the Edmonton Eskimos from 1978-1982. Winnipeg trying to make history with a hobbled starting QB should create a perfect storm for Toronto to get the upset win. However, this will be my smallest bet of the game.

Against the spread

BET ARGONAUTS +5.5 (-105).

At first glance, Winnipeg winning its 3rd consecutive Grey Cup may seem like a foregone conclusion. However, Collaros’ ankle injury should limit the Blue Bombers’ offense and help keep this game low-scoring. The lower the score, the more valuable each point becomes on the Argonauts spread. I’ll take the points with Toronto for my best bet of the game.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 46.5 (-105).

Winnipeg has allowed the least yards per game this season at 342.9. Combine its elite defense with Collaros not being at 100% and both teams should have trouble scoring.

The Blue Bombers scored 33 points in the 108th Grey Cup, but that number is misleading. Winnipeg had just 10 points through 3 quarters before the Tiger-Cats’ 4th-quarter collapse. The Blue Bombers should struggle on offense Sunday as the back-to-back Most Outstanding Player Award winner deals with limited mobility.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Toronto Argonauts odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Toronto Argonauts matchup, with CFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-0) visit the Toronto Argonauts (1-1) in the first of two games on the CFL’s Week 3 Saturday schedule. Kickoff at BMO Field will be at 4 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Blue Bombers vs. Argonauts odds and lines and make our best CFL picks, predictions and bets.

This is the second half of a home-and-home between the cross-division rivals. Winnipeg beat Toronto 20-7 on its home field last week as QB Zach Collaros went 32-for-40 for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns against 1 interception.

Toronto makes a change at starting quarterback coming into this one. QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson was replaced by backup Nick Arbuckle midway through last week’s game and Arbuckle will draw the Week 3 start in the Argos’ 2021 home opener. He went 10-for-19 for 96 yards and 1 INT after entering the Week 2 matchup in the third quarter.

Blue Bombers at Argonauts odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Blue Bombers 24, Argonauts 13

Money line

The BLUE BOMBERS (-190) can be backed as moderate road favorites. The long-reigning 2019 Grey Cup champions have picked up where they left off with back-to-back season-opening wins over the Argos and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Arbuckle did little last week to steal the starting job away from Bethel-Thompson and it’s unlikely he finds his groove and ups his play in the immediate rematch.

Against the spread

Back the BLUE BOMBERS -3.5 (-110) to win by 4 or more points for a proper return on investment.

After bouncing around the league in 2019, including a brief stop in Toronto, Collaros found his groove with the Bombers and helped lead them to the Grey Cup victory. He has been excellent through two weeks with a 73.5% completion rate for 509 yards and 4 TD against 1 INT.

Over/Under

Bet UNDER 45.5 (-120) with Toronto making an uninspired QB change and these teams falling well shy of this number in Winnipeg’s 13-point victory last week.

Bombers RB Andrew Harris (calf) remained limited in practice through the week and the offense won’t be in top form until the MVP of the 2019 Grey Cup is back to full health.
