Top of the 2024 NFL draft order scenarios for Week 16

Breaking down the current order and the upcoming schedule of the contenders for the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft

There are three weeks left in the 2023 NFL season. The first 14 games for every team have whittled down the contenders for the top few picks in the 2024 NFL draft.

Entering Week 16, the top four picks look like this:

1. Chicago Bears (from Carolina): 2-12

2. New England Patriots: 3-11

3. Arizona Cardinal: 3-11

4. Washington Commanders: 4-10

While the next grouping of five teams (the Bears, Giants, Jets, Chargers and Titans) are all technically still in play with their 5-9 records, it seems extraordinarily unlikely the Panthers, Patriots and Cardinals will all suddenly go on season-ending winning streaks.

The Panthers won in Week 15, while the Patriots and Cardinals both lost. Washington did as well to remain in the hunt, though the Commanders lose any head-to-head tiebreaker with the Cardinals from beating them back in Week 1. They also beat the Patriots in Week 9.

Week 16 schedule

Panthers host the Packers (6-8)

Patriots visit the Broncos (7-7)

Cardinals visit the Bears (5-9)

Commanders visit the Jets (5-9)

DRAFT STOCK: Alabama OT Evan Neal moves into No. 1 overall territory

Evan Neal is trending toward being the top pick!

Nick Saban has countless stars for NFL teams. Whether it be a quarterback at No. 5 overall or a defensive lineman at No. 3 overall, former Crimson Tide stars are usually off the board quickly on draft night.

Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal may move into uncharted territory during the Saban era, as he is now projected by some to be the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Jacksonville Jaguars currently hold the pick if the season ended today. Turmoil occurred in the 2021 season regarding head coach, now former head coach, Urban Meyer.

In the 2021 draft, Jacksonville selected Trevor Lawrence first overall. His rookie season has been abysmal, and part of it is due to poor performance from those up front who are supposed to be protecting him.

Two recent NFL mock drafts project Neal to be the Jaguars pick at No. 1 overall.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow along with projections and analysis for the 2022 NFL Draft and how it impacts Crimson Tide stars.

Final 2020 mock draft: Bengals make the right pick No. 1 overall

One more look at a Cincinnati Bengals 7-round mock draft.

The wait is finally over. We’ll soon have an actual draft pick to talk about — as if we don’t already know who the first one will be.

To start the final buildup, here’s one last mock draft for the Cincinnati Bengals, with these picks coming from my personal final seven-round mock draft where I went through all 255 picks.

Is there really any more explanation needed? This has seemingly been locked in since January. Thursday it finally becomes a formality.
