The slate of games gave us four blowout performances as well as three nail-biting games that kept you engaged. For the Georgia faithful, there wasn’t much to be anxious about in the Deep South’s Biggest Blowout. The Bulldogs took care of Auburn, 42-10. Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss also joined in on the fun. The four teams combined to beat the opposition 174-68, and most of the scoring came from Vanderbilt. The Commodores held a halftime lead but the Rebels ran away with it.

Florida held on against Missouri, Kentucky fell to South Carolina, and Alabama needed a goal-line stand as time expired against Texas A&M.

The Ohio State Buckeyes blasted Rutgers 49-10, while Bret Bielema took it to his former team Wisconsin. The Fighting Illini’s 34-10 win over the Badgers sent the Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst packing.

The Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions joined the Buckeyes as they kept their perfect season intact. Each team has started the season 5-0 and 2-0 in conference play. Here are Pro Football Focus’ top performing Jaguars from Week 1

Here are Jacksonville’s standouts from Week 1.

There wasn’t much positive to take away from Jacksonville’s 37-21 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday in Week 1. The offseason improvements we heard so much about didn’t seem to make much of a difference, and the Jaguars looked much like the same team that went 1-15 a year ago.

But it wasn’t all bad. There were a handful of players who were actually solid in their individual contributions. Leading the way, according to Pro Football Focus, was guard Andrew Norwell, who is among Jacksonville’s best offensive linemen. He was solid in pass protection, and though the Jags didn’t run the ball much, they were able to get some chunk yards on the ground.

Running back Carlos Hyde was Jacksonville’s leading rusher in the loss, which came as a bit of a surprise. He saw nine carries which he took for a team-high 44 yards. It’s surprising that the Jags only gave James Robinson five carries, but Hyde showed he’s a capable player in the backfield.

Edge rusher Josh Allen, meanwhile, had the games only sack, and Jihad Ward had one of the team’s six quarterback hits while also totaling four tackles.

Tight end James O’Shaughnessy didn’t get the start, and while starter Chris Manhertz scored a touchdown on his lone catch, O’Shaughnessy was more productive, totaling 48 yards on six catches.

Overall, Jacksonville needs to play much better moving forward. But these players had a solid performance that they can build on in spite of the loss.

The team received some top-notch performances from key players in the first half of 2020, headlined by QB Patrick Mahomes, TE Travis Kelce and DT Chris Jones. They’ll look to build on those performances during the final half of the season.

Below you’ll find a look at the top statistical performers for the Chiefs from the first half of the 2020 season:
