Ryan Garcia is one of the fastest-rising young stars in the sport. Luke Campbell is a proven veteran.

They are expected to collide in a lightweight bout this November, probably in California, although contracts have yet to be signed.

How would that fight play out?

Garcia seems to be loaded with talent and can crack, but he hasn’t faced anyone on the level of Campbell, a former Olympian. Campbell lost to Jorge Linares and Vasiliy Lomachenko in two of his last five fights but acquitted himself reasonably well both times.

Russell would have to move up two weight classes for the fight but he seems intent on doing it.

What would happen if they were to meet? Haney, 21, would have youth and natural size working in his favor. Russell, 32, would have the edge in experience.

Jessica McCaskill was ecstatic after her upset of Cecilia Braekhus to become undisputed welterweight champion Saturday in Tulsa, Okla. Braekhus was classy in defeat.

McCaskill (9-2, 3 KOs) defeated Braekhus (36-1, 9 KOs) by a majority decision, the first setback in the Colombian-Norwegian’s decorated career.

Braekhus was making the 26th defense of her 147-pound title. Had she won, she would’ve broken Joe Louis’ record for consecutive successful title defenses.

McCaskill is now a two-division titleholder, as she also is a unified junior welterweight titleholder. She could face the winner of the Aug. 22 Katie Taylor-Delfine Persoon lightweight title fight.

Braekhus, 38, hinted at retirement but no announcement has been made.
