BREAKING: Oregon Ducks land 4-star EDGE Tobi Haastrup

The Oregon Ducks landed a commitment from 4-star EDGE Tobi Haastrup during the Early Signing Period, adding to the 2025 recruiting class.

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks had themselves a day to kick of the Early Signing Period, signing one of the top classes in the nation. They added to that with the addition of 4-star EDGE Tobi Haastrup, a 6-foot-4, 230-pounder out of Houston.

Haastrup is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 270 player in the 2025 class, and the No. 24 EDGE.

Late on Tuesday night, the eve of the Early Signing Period, multiple predictions came in for Haastrup to sign with the Ducks, so his commitment does not come as a major surprise. Haastrup is the second edge rusher to join Oregon’s 2025 class, alongside Matthew Johnson.

We’ve seen the Ducks’ edge position take off under Lanning and his staff, with young players like Matayo Uiagalelei, Teitum Tuioti, and Blake Purchase all finding great success early in their careers.

We will see if Haastrup can be the next in line to come through at the EDGE and wreak havoc in Eugene.

Texas A&M is predicted to land 2025 4-star Edge out of Houston (TX)

One of the rising pass rushers in the 2025 recruiting class is now predicted to land with Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class has gained some ground since the start of the 2024 season. The Aggies currently sit at an impressive 5-1 and conference-leading 3-0 in SEC play.

Earlier this week, head coach Mike Elko and OL coach Adam Cushing landed a commitment from rising 2024 4-star offensive lineman Nelson McGuire just a day after A&M’s 41-10 win over the Missouri Tigers. In attendance for the game, McGuire believes in the Aggies under Elko and his staff.

Also in attendance for the game was 2025 4-star Edge Tobi Haastrup, who is a newcomer to football after leaving London, England, for Houston (TX), has been on Elko’s radar since the start of his first season at Mayde Creek HS, where Haastrup recorded an incredible five sacks during his first game of the season.

On Wednesday, On3 recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong released his official prediction for Haastrup to land with Texas A&M. Still, after the news was released, the ascending pass rusher noted that his recruiting is “1,000% wide open.”

He is raw but notably gifted due to his 6-4 230-pound frame; Haastrup’s speed off the edge and ability to push offensive tackles into the pocket make him an athlete worth taking a chance on despite his lack of experience.

Texas A&M offers 2025 4-star Edge out of Houston (TX)

Texas A&M is now the 11th offer for rising pass rusher Tobi Haastrup, who once lived in London, England

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class has a chance to add one of the ascending pass rushers in the cycle, as 4-star Edge Tobi Haastrup has received his 11th offer from the Aggies since arriving in Houston after living in London, England, for most of his life.

Knowing that the 2024 season can be used as a benchmark for future recruiting at every position, junior defensive end duo Nic Scourton and Shemar Stewart are only scratching the surface after last Saturday’s loss to Notre Dame, and visiting prospects are noticing.

Since head coach Mke Elko took over the program, landing Scourton from the transfer portal shows how the long-time defensive coordinator still holds an elite pedigree regarding productive pass rushers.

So far in the 2025 cycle, Elko has landed commitments from four defensive linemen, including 4-star prospects DJ Sanders and Landon Rink, who already look like game-wreckers in their senior seasons.

In his first season at Mayde Creek HS, Haastrup recorded five sacks in his first game. The raw but gifted athlete looks like a player who can easily develop in Elko’s scheme.

According to 247Sports, Haastrup is currently positioned as the 276th-ranked prospect, the 21st-ranked Edge prospect, and the 39th-ranked prospect in Texas.
