FS1’s Tim Brando hilariously danced to Jump Around (again!) during Wisconsin’s season-opener

Jump Around if you’re happy college football is back

It’s safe to say Tim Brando loves calling games at Camp Randall Stadium.

Aside from being one of the best environments in college football, and an overall fantastic place to watch a game, Wisconsin’s traditions are as well known as any in the sport.

Or, at least Jump Around is.

And Brando, the 68-year-old broadcaster for Fox Sports, loves him some Jump Around.

When the 1992 House of Pain track blared throughout the stadium on Friday  night after the third quarter between the Badgers and Western Michigan, Brando couldn’t help but join in with the rest of the fans. He started dancing in the booth.

It’s becoming a tradition for Brando, too.

Let this duo call every Wisconsin game for as long as they want.

How to watch, listen, stream USC Trojans at No. 6 Oregon Ducks

No. 6 Oregon and USC meet up for a big Pac-12 After Dark contest on FOX.

These supposed “Pac-12 After Dark” games are not popular for any fanbase, but if you’re going to have a late night game, it better be a big one.

This is a big one.

Everyone remembers when the Ducks did a number on the Trojans in 2009 and Oregon is expecting this to be a repeat, but it won’t be easy. USC brings a Heisman winner with it at quarterback, but a defense that needs to improve to be called shoddy. The Trojans dumped defensive coordinator Alex Grinch like a bad habit this week and it probably should have been done way before now.

Facing the Ducks inside Autzen isn’t exactly a good first assignment for those calling defensive plays. But those defensive players had four and five stars when they were recruited. The talent is obviously there, but a week shouldn’t be enough time to right so many wrongs.

Tim Brando to call Saturday’s game between Texas and Houston

We could be in for an interesting broadcast on Saturday.

Prepare for a doozy of a Saturday broadcast. The Texas Longhorns and Houston Cougars will see their game called by purported Texas insider Tim Brando.

The news of Brando’s involvement in the game likely won’t thrill Texas faithful. The veteran broadcaster has had some of his most off-base college football takes on the Longhorns program. This offseason, he suggested Texas could be as much of a disappointment as Texas A&M was in 2022. In that season, of course, the Aggies went 5-7.

Brando couldn’t be more wrong than in that take, but it didn’t stop him from trying. The Fox broadcaster suggested that the Longhorns could not be successful because of boosters meddling in the football program. He provided no real specifics of meddling boosters’ role in preventing the Longhorns from winning, but it appears his information was about a decade behind.

Since those bold claims, Texas is off to its best six game start since 2018. After a Week 2 win over Alabama, Texas has retained its spot within the Top 10 of the AP Poll. The Longhorns check in at 5-1 on the year.

We’ll see what Brando has to say about the current Texas squad over the broadcast. You can watch the Longhorns take on the Houston Cougars at 3 p.m. CT on Fox.

Tim Brando has a surprising college football top 10 entering 2023 season

He got No. 1 right! #GoBlue

Tim Brando gets around as one of Fox Sports’ premier play-by-play men. He has been on several Michigan football games throughout the years — basketball, as well — and he sees teams from all over the country.

Brando appeared on The Daily Wire’s college sports show, “Crain & Co.,” and revealed which teams he has in his preseason top 10. He bucks a number of trends by having different teams, including a surprising No. 1, giving him an interesting cast for his upper echelon.

We included our thoughts about each team in his top 10. Do we feel like its inclusion is warranted or if it is too high or too low.

Tim Brando gives erroneous rant about Texas, mocks them as contenders

The only thing more entertaining than a 10-win season would be Tim Brando having to narrate Texas’ success.

Tim Brando has an axe to grind with Texas. Nobody really knows why. Brando continued his strong takes against the Longhorns in a comical and erroneous monologue on the “Crain & Company” podcast.

Included in his wild take, Brando described Texas being favored by Big 12 media as a usual occurrence. In reality, Texas has not been picked to win the conference outright by Big 12 media since 2009. The Longhorns did, in fact, win the Big 12 that season.

The football commentator then said the following of Texas in comparison to last season’s Texas A&M squad.

“I think Texas may well play the role of Texas A&M last year. Because the hype is … through the roof. We’re great; we’re back.”Nobody in Texas media is suggesting Texas is back, but that didn’t stop the Fox broadcaster from howling at the moon. He went on to discuss generalities around meddling boosters without mentioning any specifics on what supposed meddling is still going on at Texas. Brando vaguely discussed a problematic culture that will somehow prevent the Longhorns from improving.

Nobody with any discernment has ever mistaken Brando for someone with a finger on the pulse of the Texas football program. Albeit, he was sure to share the decade-old talking point that isn’t applicable to Longhorns football in present-day.

Predicting the Longhorns to fall like last season’s Texas A&M team is far more bold than any other prediction for Texas this offseason. That suggests this roster could fall to 5-7 in Sarkisian’s third season. Then again, perhaps the purported Texas insider knows something that we don’t know.

Tim Brando updates his top 10 after college football’s Week 2

Brando updated his top 10 after the conclusion of Week 2, and though it no longer includes ISU, it still will no doubt be controversial.

Heading into Week 2 of the college football season, Fox Sports commentator Tim Brando released a projected final top 10 that raised some eyebrows.

Among other unpopular predictions, it included Iowa State at No. 6. That take didn’t age particularly well, as the Cyclones were upset by Louisiana-Lafayette at home in a 31-14 beatdown.

Brando updated his top 10 after the conclusion of Week 2, and though it no longer includes ISU, it still will no doubt be controversial.

The Ragin’ Cajuns made their way to No. 10 after springing one of the biggest wins in program history.

The top five remained unchanged, as only Clemson and Oklahoma competed this week. The Tigers beat Wake Forest 37-13, while the Sooners blanked Missouri State 48-0.

Meanwhile, Florida moved up a spot to No. 6, trailing only No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 LSU and No. 5 Georgia among SEC teams.

No. 7 Auburn and No. 8 Texas each moved up a spot, while Notre Dame held firm at No. 9 despite a lackluster outing in a 27-13 win over Duke.

Fox Sports’ Tim Brando puts Florida Gators football in preseason top 10

Fox Sports commentator Tim Brando released his preseason college football top 10 via Twitter on Wednesday, and the Gators appeared at No. 7.

Fox Sports commentator Tim Brando released his preseason college football top-10 via Twitter on Wednesday, and the Gators appeared at No. 7.

The poll doesn’t feature teams from the Big Ten and Pac-12, which have postponed the fall season, and it is based on the projected order of finish.

Brando’s poll features a number of surprising picks, notably Iowa State at No. 6. The Cyclones are coming off a 7-6 season in 2019 and are expected to be among the stronger teams in the Big 12 this season, but his decision to include them in the top 10 is a bit puzzling. ISU is ranked just 23rd in the preseason AP Poll, though that includes teams that aren’t participating in the season.

Georgia is also slightly lower on this poll than on most others. Though many see the Bulldogs as the second-best team in the SEC, they are listed behind LSU here at No. 5, with Florida following it as the fourth-highest ranked SEC program.

Brando’s full top-10 list rankings are as follows.

  1. Clemson Tigers
  2. Alabama Crimson Tide
  3. Oklahoma Sooners
  4. LSU Tigers
  5. Georgia Bulldogs
  6. Iowa State Cyclones
  7. Florida Gators
  8. Auburn Tigers
  9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  10. Texas Longhorns
