Detroit Tigers (+145) vs. Cincinnati Reds (-162)

  • When: Friday, July 24
  • Time: 6:00 p.m. ET
  • TV Channel: MLB Network
  • Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)

Pitching: Matthew Boyd (0-0) vs. Sunny Grey (0-0)

To open the season, Detroit will send Matthew Boyd to the mound who finished sixth last season in the AL with 238 strikeouts, had a 9-12 record with a 4.56 ERA.

The Reds will give Sonny Grey the nod on Friday, who finished last season with an 11-8 record and a 2.87 ERA. Once Grey gets rolling during the season he’s tough to stop.

Prediction: Boyd will have his work cut out for him with this young Cincinnati team, they are fast and can hit. I think this Reds team will be too tough for the Tigers to keep up with. Take the Reds (-162) in this one.
