Tigers of the Game: Auburn falls to Alabama 24-22 in overtime

Man, these Tigers played their tail off.

Auburn nearly pulled off a stunning upset. 

For the first time ever, the Iron Bowl needed overtime to determine a winner. Ultimately, Auburn was unable to pull off the upset, falling 24-22 to Alabama. 

Auburn led 10-0 going into the fourth quarter but the defense ran out of gas and Alabama scored on a last-minute drive to force overtime. In the fourth overtime, Auburn failed their 2-point conversion and Alabama completed theirs for the victory.

Tigers of the Game: Auburn losses to Texas A&M

Let’s focus on some of the good from Saturday…

Man, that was tough.

Auburn had one of their worst offensive showings in quite some time Saturday, falling to Texas A&M 20-3, in a defensive slug fest.

Auburn managed just 226 yards of offense and repeatedly made unforced mistakes as the game slipped away.

Tigers of the Game: Auburn loses to Georgia

Here are our Tigers of the game…

Auburn was unable to convert on their chances in their 34-10 loss to Georgia.

Auburn took a 3-0 lead before Georgia scored 17-straight points to take a lead and never looked back. The Tigers made three trips into the red zone but came away with just 10 points and was unable to score in the second or third quarter as Georgia added to their lead.

The loss was Auburn’s fifth straight in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.

The outcome was not what Auburn was hoping for but several Auburn players played well and deserve recognition. Here is a look at the players who played best in each phase for Auburn.

Tigers of the Game from Auburn’s win over Georgia State

Here are your Tigers of the game from Saturday’s win.

It was closer than it should have been but Auburn was able to pull out a win thanks to a 98-yard drive led by T.J. Finley. 

Finley entered in relief of a struggling Bo Nix and led the game-winning drive. The chance was far from seamless but Auburn’s quarterback position may now be an open competition. 

Auburn was projected to win by multiple scores against the Panthers but was in a two-score deficit at the half.

The quarterback change sparked some energy throughout the team and the fans at Jordan-Hare Stadium
