Analyzing Monday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Oklahoma City Thunder (42-18) make the 3rd stop on a 4-game road trip against the Los Angeles Lakers (34-29) Monday at Crypto.com Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Lakers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Lakers lead 2-1; Los Angeles won 112-105 on Jan. 15 in the most recent meeting, and only previous battle at Crypto.com Arena this season

The Thunder posted a 118-110 win on the road against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, cashing as a 4.5-point favorite as the Under (233.5) cashed. OKC has won 7 of the past 8 games straight up (SU), while also going 7-1 against the spread (ATS). The Over has hit at a 9-2-1 clip across the past 12 outings.

The Lakers were roughed up 124-114 against the Denver Nuggets last time out on Saturday, failing to cash as a 1-point favorite as the Over (231.5) cashed. Los Angeles has won just 3 of the past 6 outings, while going 1-5 ATS during the nosedive.

Los Angeles has won 6 of the past 8 meetings in this series, while covering 4 of the past 5, with a 6-2 ATS mark in the past 8 encounters. The Over has a slight 4-2 edge in the previous 6 meetings.

Thunder at Lakers picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 121, Lakers 115

Moneyline

The THUNDER (+100) are a solid play as short ‘dogs on the road. OKC has been red-hot in the past 8 games, winning 7 times. That includes a road win against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, as well as an outright victory as a similar 1.5-point favorite against the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 22.

On the flip side, the Lakers (-118) are playing just .500 basketball in the past 6 games, winning 3 times. At home, Los Angeles is 8-4 in the past 12 outings, so don’t expect it to be easy for the road favorites.

Against the spread

The Thunder +1 (-108) doesn’t make much sense to bet, unless you firmly believe the Lakers -1 (-112) are going to win outright, but only by a single point.

OKC is the play straight up, and it’s a much better value.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 237.5 (-110) is the lean in this battle in SoCal, but go lightly.

The Under has a 3-2-1 edge in the past 6 outings for the Lakers, although the Over has cashed in the past 2 contests.

For the Thunder, the Under has hit in 2 of the past 3 outings, although the Over has dominated lately, going 9-2-1 in the previous 12 contests.

The Under has hit in 4 of the past 5 meetings in Southern California, too.

LeBron James’ odds to set record, pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Tuesday

LeBron James needs 36 points to pass Kareem Abul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time scoring leader. The Lakers host the Thunder Tuesday.

Will LeBron do it Tuesday night?

Los Angeles Lakers F LeBron James is 36 points away from passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time scoring leader.

Heading into Tuesday’s home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, James has 38,352 career points (in regular-season games). Abdul-Jabbar holds the record at 38,387.

As of 3:32 p.m. ET, Tipico Sportsbook has odds of +145 for LeBron to break the record by scoring at least 36 points Tuesday – tip-off from Crypto.com Arena is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (TNT). The Over for LeBron to score 32.5 is -110, the Under 32.5 is -120.

In the midst of his 20th season since being the No. 1 overall draft pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003, LeBron has played 1,409 regular-season games — 11 campaigns with the Cavs, 4 with the Miami Heat and currently in his 5th season with the Lakers.

Known as Lew Alcindor before taking his Muslim name Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1971, he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1969 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. Kareem played in 1,560 games during 20 seasons – 6 for the Bucks and 14 for the Lakers. He was traded during the 1975 offseason with Walt Wesley to the Lakers for Junior Bridgeman, Dave Meyers, Elmore Smith and Brian Winters.

LeBron made his NBA debut when he was 18. Kareem debuted at 22.

LeBron and Kareem are both 19-time All-Stars and Rookie of the Year winners, but Kareem has 6 NBA titles to LeBron’s 4. However, LeBron was the Finals MVP in his 4 championships, while Kareem was the Finals MVP twice.

Kareem has 2 scoring titles (1970-71 and 1971-72); LeBron has 1 (2007-08).

LeBron averages 27.2 PPG during the regular season to rank 5th and scored 28.7 PPG during the postseason to rank 6th. Kareem averaged 24.6 PPG regular season (16th) and 24.3 PPG postseason (26th).

Kareem ranks 3rd in rebounds (17,440) and 3rd in blocks (3,189), while LeBron is 4th in assists (10,351), 2nd in postseason assists (1,919), 9th in steals (2,176) and 1st in postseason steals (454).

If LeBron doesn’t get it Tuesday, the Lakers’ next game is Thursday at home vs. Milwaukee.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (25-28) and Los Angeles Lakers (25-29) meet Tuesday at Crypto.com Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Lakers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Thunder failed to cover the spread as 3.5-point underdogs Monday in a 141-114 loss at the Golden State Warriors. G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a team-high 20 points for the Thunder, who have lost 3 of their last 4 games. Oklahoma City is 6-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last 7 games after a loss.

The Lakers failed to cover as 1.5-point underdogs Saturday in a 131-126 loss at the New Orleans Pelicans. F LeBron James finished with 27 points and is just 36 away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record. The 4-time NBA MVP’s scoring prop for Tuesday is set at Over 32.5 (-140) and Under 32.5 (+110). If James does not break Abdul-Jabbar’s record vs. the Thunder, the 4-time NBA champion’s next opportunity will be Thursday hosting the Milwaukee Bucks.

Thunder at Lakers picks and predictions

Prediction

Lakers 116, Thunder 115

Moneyline

PASS.

The Lakers (-260) should win, but Los Angeles is being slightly overvalued on the moneyline. Bet the spread and/or total instead. Tipico is offering a special, BOOSTED opportunity if you believe James breaks the record Tuesday. LEBRON JAMES TO SCORE 36+ POINTS  is BOOSTED to +145.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER +6.5 (-108).

The Lakers have failed to cover in back-to-back games, and James nearing the all-time scoring record may be a distraction for Los Angeles. The Lakers face a Thunder team that has played well at Crypto.com Arena lately and is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Los Angeles. Oklahoma City will be motivated to bounce back after a 27-point loss Monday, while the Lakers may be in a letdown spot in their 1st home game after a 5-game road trip.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 239.5 (-110).

The Under is 7-1 in Oklahoma City’s last 8 games vs. teams with a losing record and 5-1 in Los Angeles’ last 6 after 2 days of rest. Los Angeles’ offense should regress toward the mean Tuesday as the Under has hit in 5 of the Lakers’ last 6 games after scoring more than 125 points in their previous contest.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (24-56) visit Crypto.com Arena Friday to take on the Los Angeles Lakers (31-49). Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Thunder vs. Lakers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Thunder are coming off a 137-101 loss to the Utah Jazz Wednesday. Oklahoma City has been playing without its top four scorers for quite some time and will be without them again versus the Lakers.

While the Thunder are 2-3 against the spread (ATS) over their last five outings, they are 9-3 ATS over their last 12, so they have been able to hang with most opponents. Motivation will be a factor for both teams in this game.

The Lakers lost 128-112 Thursday at the Golden State Warriors. Los Angeles is eliminated from even play-in tournament contention, and it will be without all three of the Big 3 tonight.

The Lakers are 2-5 ATS over their last seven contests. They’ve struggled to keep up with opponents, mainly due to their horrific defense, and haven’t held an opponent to fewer than 110 points since allowing 109 points March 11.

Thunder at Lakers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Lakers 118, Thunder 114

Money line

PASS.

The Thunder (+180) is the only playable option, but I would rather take the points.

Against the spread

LEAN to the THUNDER +5.5 (-108).

The Thunder are going to be starting a plethora of younger, high-ceiling players like F Isaiah Roby and F Jaylen Hoard. The Lakers will be in the same situation for the most part, potentially also getting F Stanley Johnson and C Dwight Howard some run.

Los Angeles is the more talented side and should come out on top, but given how it’s struggled as of late, especially defensively, there’s no reason to believe the Thunder won’t also top 110 points.

The Lakers rank 21st in defensive rating and 28th in net rating over their last five games. Chances are the motivation won’t be there and they’ll continue their downhill slide.

With that in mind, BACK the THUNDER +5.5 (-108).

Over/Under

BET on the OVER 227.5 (-108).

The Thunder don’t have the most playmaking as the bulk of their elite playmakers are on the bench, but the Lakers’ pace and inability to defend should help the two top the projected total.

The Lakers rank fourth in pace over the last five games (OKC ranks 14th in pace over that span), so they’re playing quick and without defense. LA is 8-3 O/U in its last 11 outings.

OKC is 5-4 O/U over its last nine contests.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (1-6) wrap up a three-game road trip Thursday when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers (5-3) for the second time this season. Tip-off from Staples Center is set for 10:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Thunder vs. Lakers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Thunder’s only victory this season was a 123-115 victory over the Lakers in Oklahoma City Oct. 27. They are winless in four road games and suffered a 99-94 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers Monday.

The Lakers have won their last three games since losing to the Thunder, and have won five of their last six outings. F LeBron James did not play in the last matchup but has been in the lineup in each of the last three games.

Thunder at Lakers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Lakers 110, Thunder 100

Money line

PASS on the money line. The Thunder did pick up an outright win at home against the Lakers but that was with no James in the lineup. Only consider the money line if you think they have a second upset, as the payout is big.

The payout is virtually nothing to bet on the Lakers to win outright, so better to look to the spread and the total.

Against the spread

The Thunder are 3-4 ATS this season and have covered the spread in three of their last four games. They are 2-2 ATS when they are double-digit underdogs.

The Lakers are only 2-6 ATS this season and 1-6 ATS when favored. They have not covered the spread in either of the games in which they were favored by 10 or more points and their biggest win this season was by 12.

The Lakers will bounce back from their previous loss to the Thunder but I don’t know that they will run away with the win. Take the THUNDER +13.5 (-108).

Over/Under

Only two of the Thunder’s seven games went Over the projected total, although one was the win over the Lakers. All four of their road games stayed Under.

Five of the Lakers’ eight games have hit the Over, and three of the six outings with James in the lineup went Over.

Expect a lower offensive output for the Thunder than they had against the Lakers the last time. They average only 96.7 points per game, the second-lowest total in the league.

Take UNDER 216.5 (-112).

Thunder at Lakers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Lakers 110, Thunder 100

Money line (ML)

The Lakers have won five games in a row and eight of their last 10, including a seven-point win at home just two nights ago over the Thunder. The Thunder have lost four of their last six road games. The Lakers are championship contenders while the Thunder have the second-worst record in the conference. This should be a lock for the Lakers to win, but because a Lakers win will only net you $1.33 per $10 wagered, PASS of the money line.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Despite the Lakers’ win streak and overall great play this season, they have only covered the spread in 48% of their games. They have failed to cover the last three games that they have been favored by at least 10 points, including their last two games overall. Now, Anthony Davis (Achilles’) has been ruled out. The Thunder are 12-10-1 ATS but are 9-3 ATS on the road, which is tied for the best ATS record in the league, while the Lakers are 4-7 ATS at home. The Lakers will win but not by enough for the spread it is at without AD. Take the THUNDER +12.5 (-115).

Over/Under (O/U)

The Lakers continue to have one of the league’s best defenses, allowing an average of 104.9 points per game, which ranks second overall. They average 113.1 points per game. They have the third-lowest Over percentage in the league at 32%. The two teams’ game two nights ago went Over and the Lakers’ last two games have gone Over, but they have not had three consecutive games this season go Over yet. Take UNDER 218.5 POINTS (-110).
