Panthers make major move for ex-Dolphins guard (and #THICCSIX star) Robert Hunt

Robert Hunt goes to the Panthers as a top-tier guard, and a sneaky red-zone #THICCSIX weapon. What’s not to like?

The Carolina Panthers are all too aware that they need to surround second-year quarterback Bryce Young with as much talent as possible, and the team took a big step forward in that regard on Monday by agreeing to terms with former Miami Dolphins offensive guard Robert Hunt on a massive deal.

Over four seasons with the Miami Dolphins, Hunt has allowed a total of nine sacks and 61 total pressures, with one sack and five total pressures allowed in 376 pass-blocking snaps. The Dolphins have one of the NFL’s most complex and multi-faceted run game, and Hunt was a bastion of consistency on a line that was a bit all over the place. Which is what Hunt will try and solve in his new home.

Moreover, Hunt adds a potential red zone target for Young — you can read more about this particular play here.

Texas’ Byron Murphy II with a #THICCSIX to tie CFP Semifinal vs. Washington

Texas’ Byron Murphy II got himself a #THICCSIX to tie it up against Washington in the CFP Semifinal game.

The only better thing than a touchdown in a huge game is a touchdown by a huge man in a huge game. With 10:08 left in the first half of the Texas Longhorns’ CFP Semifinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl game against the Washington Huskies, Texas was down 14-7, and defensive lineman Byron Murphy II took care of that with this one-yard rumble.

Murphy is 6-foot-1 and 308 pounds (unofficial), so this does count as a #THICCSIX under Touchdown Wire rules that any such play must be performed by a player weighing over 300 pounds.

Also, this was not the first #THICCSIX of Murphy’s career — watch the big man rumble for this one-yard touchdown catch against Wyoming!

South Carolina DT Tonka Hemingway scores #THICCSIX touchdown against Jacksonville State

South Carolina IDL Tonka Hemingway lived up to his name with a #THICCSIX touchdown run against Jacksonville State.

South Carolina interior defensive lineman Terrell H. “Tonka” Hemingway has been an excellent disruptor for the Gamecocks this season, with two sacks and 14 total pressures on 186 pass-rushing snaps. But against Jacksonville State on Saturday, the big truck was brought in to add a bit of bulk to the heavy run package, and a two-yard #THICCSIX touchdown.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Hemingway is actually a triple threat, as we can see on this 16-yard fake field goal catch against Vanderbilt last season.
