T’Vondre Sweat has caught the attention of football enthusiasts as he has been ranked as the third highest-graded player in all of college football for the upcoming Conference Championship games this weekend, according to PFF.
Sweat has emerged as the star player for the Texas Longhorns this season. According to the Pro Football Focus grading system, Sweat has earned an exceptional score of 91.6, which is the highest among all interior defensive linemen.

Byron Murphy is also among the highest-graded players, with a grade of 90.1. Murphy has been just as dominant as Sweat in stopping the run game and putting pressure on the quarterback.
The senior and future NFL star has helped Texas allow just 85 rushing yards per game, and Sweat and the defense will need to continue to shine on Saturday when the Longhorns play Ollie Gordon and the Oklahoma State Cowboys at 11 a.m. CT.

Can the Longhorns stop Ollie Gordon?
Oklahoma State’s star running back Ollie Gordon has been a dominant force on the field this season. He has been able to rush for almost 1,500 yards and score an impressive 18 touchdowns.
It seems like nobody can stop him, as he consistently makes incredible plays and is a key player in every game. His dominant performances have undoubtedly contributed to Oklahoma State’s success this season, putting the Cowboys in the Big 12 Championship game.
Gordon rushed for over 160 yards in back-to-back games against Houston and BYU last week. He has had four games this year with over 160 rushing yards.
The star running back had a slow start to the season, failing to reach 100 yards in a game until Week 4 when the Cowboys lost to Iowa State in Ames. However, since then he has been performing exceptionally well, with only one off game against UCF, which they lost 45-3.
The Texas Longhorns defense didn’t get to play UCF this year, but that doesn’t mean they can’t take notes from that performance to stop Gordon once again.
Texas’ defensive line, led by T’Vondre Sweat and Byron Murphy, has held opponents to an average of just 85 rushing yards per game, preventing breakaway runs and up-the-middle rushes by opposing running backs.
If Texas can prevent Oklahoma State from establishing their running game on Saturday, they will likely dominate the game and secure a Big 12 Championship.
Although Texas is the home team, they will wear their away “Icy Whites” uniforms against Oklahoma State.
In my opinion, the “Icy Whites” are the best look Texas has and are in contention for the best uniforms in college football. Although Texas is the home team, it will wear its road “Icy White” uniforms against Oklahoma State for the Big 12 title game this weekend.
The Longhorns have won all their games this season in their “Icy White” uniforms. They have more passing yards per game and a better completion percentage as the visiting team, even though their run game is slightly weaker.
When Texas won the Big 12 in 2005 and 2009, it wore away uniforms. It won the inaugural Big 12 Championship in 1996 in burnt orange uniforms, but the Longhorns were 7-4 and not competing for a College Football Playoff spot. In 2018, the Longhorns played the Oklahoma Sooners in the title game and lost in their burnt orange home jerseys.
So, is Texas wearing its away jerseys due to superstition or preference? Only time will tell. No. 7 Texas will play No. 18 Oklahoma State for the Big 12 Championship on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
