First half highlights as Texas leads Iowa State, 6-3

Here are the first half highlights as Texas heads to halftime.

It’s been a gritty game so far, but Texas is suffering from self-inflicted wounds. Two touchdowns have been wiped off the board due to penalties that could have put Texas up by multiple scores.

After not allowing a sack for two consecutive weeks, the offensive line has given up three in the first two quarters.

Quinn Ewers finished the half strong after a shaky first quarter, going 13-30 and 163 yards.

Iowa State has played Texas aggressively so far by sending multiple rushers on defense and not letting Ewers time to throw.

Conversely, the Cyclones’ offense has been attacking the Texas secondary, catching the underneath throws in time for significant gains.

There is still plenty of time left for Texas to adjust, but Steve Sarkisian must figure out how to get the offense rolling.
