2026 4-star WR out of Texarkana (TX) is currently visiting Texas A&M

Texas A&M is currently hosting one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2026 cycle

This weekend is a busy one for Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko and his staff, as a litany of 2025 and 2026 prospects have made their way to College Station for unofficial and official visits.

Standing out the most, 2025 5-star safety Trey McNutt visited on Thursday, just days after pushing his commitment Date to early next month while representing the 2026 cycle, 4-star wide receiver Dequane Prevo has arrived on the campus for his second visit within the last two months.

Over a week ago, Prevo revealed that he will announce his commitment on Tuesday, July 30. He will choose between Penn State, USC, Arkansas, Baylor, and Texas A&M, and according to several recruiting analysts, the Aggies remain in the lead.

One of the top playmakers in the cycle, Prevo has been on A&M’s radar for quite some time, going back to former head coach Jimbo Fisher’s offer to him during the 2022 season. With two commitments in the 2026 class, Prevo would become the highest-ranked of all three if he chooses the Aggies in four days.

According to 247Sports, Prevo, who is 5’10” and 160 pounds, is currently the 16th-ranked athlete and the 32nd-ranked prospect in Texas.

2026 4-star DL out of Arlington (TX) will visit Texas A&M this weekend

2026 4-star defensive line Jesse Ford is headed to College Station this weekend

Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party is slated for this weekend, providing Mike Elko and his staff a great opportunity to add to the program’s 19 commitments in the 2025 recruiting class while hosting several prospects in the 2026 cycle.

One of those 2026 prospects who will head to College Station this weekend is 4-star defensive lineman Jesse Ford out of Arlington, Texas, one of the rising pass rushers in class. A “breakout” player during his 2023 sophomore season at Martin HS, Ford dominated in the trenches, leading to his nearly 20 offers, including Texas and Ole Miss.

Knowing his potential early on, former head coach Jimbo Fisher offered Ford last summer and has continued his relationship with the program through the new coaching staff, as this will be his first campus visit since.

Standing 6’4″ and 235 pounds, Ford possesses the versatility, twitchy athleticism, and strength to play in any scheme. He thrives as a 3-4 defensive end and 4-3 defensive tackle while producing 40 tackles, 12.5 tackles, and seven sacks during his sophomore campaign.

According to 247Sports Composite, Ford is currently positioned as the 80th-ranked prospect, the 8th-ranked defensive line prospect, and the 8th-ranked prospect in Texas.

2026 5-star OT out of Fort Worth (TX) will reportedly visit Texas A&M this month

2026 5-star offensive tackle John Turntine III will head to College Station later this month

The recruiting dead period has lifted, and recruits can continue visiting programs as the summer winds down. At the end of the month, the annual Texas A&M recruiting pool party will take place, featuring a long list of 2025 and 2026 prospects.

As the news regarding who will attend the event continues to trickle out, Rivals insider Landyn Rosow has confirmed that 2026 5-star offensive tackle John Turntine III out of Fort Worth (TX) will attend on the final weekend of July, taking his first visit to Texas A&M since early April.

Standing at 6-5 and nearly 300 pounds, Turntine is one heck of an athlete. He started at left tackle during his 2023 sophomore season at North Crowley HS, consistently exhibiting impressive footwork and hand placement in pass protection. His upfield speed-to-power skillset makes him a future run-blocking aficionado.

Within Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class, head coach Mike Elko and O-line coach Adam Cushing have already landed five offensive line commitments, looking to continue the momentum in the 2026 cycle.

According to Rivals, Turntine is currently positioned as the 23rd-ranked prospect, the No. 1-ranked prospect in Texas, and the 6th-ranked offensive tackle in the cycle.

From the looks of it, Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party was a rousing success

Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party produced similar positive reactions from the bevy of 2024 and 2025 prospects who attended last weekend

Last weekend, Texas A&M Head Coach Jimbo Fisher took time out preparing for fall football practice to host an assemblage of top 2024 and 2025 prospects, including several current commits in the Aggies’ 2024 recruiting class.

How does one gauge success during a weekend when a very long list of young athletes descends on the same campus with various opinions regarding their future collegiate plans? It’s all in the similarities between each prospect’s first, second, or third impression of Texas A&M and what the Aggies offer as a program.

Courtesy of TexAgs’ in-depth coverage of the weekend’s festivities, a bevy of quotes were provided from nearly every prospect who visited, while four-star defensive lineman and Aggie commit Gabriel Reliford pretty much summed up how many in the Texas A&M 2024 cycle feel about College Station becoming their next home:

“I know it’s home because, dang, I’m always sad to leave there.”

Joined by fellow Aggies commits such as quarterback Anthony Maddox Jr., wide receivers Cameron Coleman and Drelon Miller, offensive linemen Weston Davis and Ashton Funk, and safeties Jordan Pride and Myles Davis, their job was simple; help sell what Jimbo Fisher and his staff are offering from an offensive, and defensive perspective ahead of the many changes to come in the college football landscape, most notably the expansion of the SEC, and the 12-team CFB playoff structure slated for the start of the 2024 season.

2024 five-star athlete Terry Bussey’s fifth unofficial visit is a very positive sign ahead of his potential August commitment, while the two players who stood out in the 2025 visitors list have to be five-star cornerback Devin Sanchez and five-star athlete Jonah Williams, both game-changing athletes in their own right, Williams seemed right at home in his second unofficial campus visit since April:

“It’s always a great time over at A&M, so it’s really just a blessing.”

This is just a small sample size of how things shook out, but knowing Fisher’s recruiting insight based on his success rate in flipping and landing commits post-pool party, announcements may not come in copious amounts Aggie fans are expecting; I’ll leave you with this: Good things come to those who wait.

Texas A&M Pool Party Standouts: 2024 4-star Athlete, Kamron Mikell

2024 4-star Athlete Kamron Mikell thoroughly enjoyed his recent visit to Texas A&M, and most importantly, the Aggies have left an impression on one of the fastest players in the class

Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party may be over, but as we all know, the news never stops; nearly every 2024 and 2025 prospect who took part in the festivities in College Station this weekend spoke to TexAgs’ recruiting analyst Jason Howell to discuss the impact the program has made on their future collegiate decision.

Focusing on the 2024 cycle, one of the more intriguing offensive prospects in the class, four-star athlete Kamron Mikell isn’t your run-of-the-mill versatile positionless prospect but one of the fastest players the cycle offers. While five-star athlete Terry Bussey remains a clear favorite to land with the Maroon and White sometime next month, he is being recruited as a cornerback, while Mikell is more suited as a running back or wide receiver at the next level.

According to 247Sports Composite, Mikell, who is entering his senior season at Statesboro (GA), is currently positioned as the 8th-ranked athlete in the 2024 class and the 21st-ranked player in Georgia.

Unsurprisingly, Mikell is a favorite to land with the hometown Bulldogs, who have the Championship pedigree to recruit pretty much whoever they please. Still, after visiting Texas A&M for the first time since Jimbo Fisher offered him back in February, Mikell expressed to Jason Howell just how much the Aggies have to offer:

“It was great…I had a fun time here, it was my first time and this place is different, I really enjoyed it.”

Performing at both quarterback and cornerback during his 2022 junior season, Mikell, who stands at 6-2 and 180 pounds, recorded 268 passing yards and four touchdowns, 478 rushing yards and five touchdowns, and two interceptions on defense in seven games played.

Is Texas A&M a legit threat to land 2024 5-star WR Micah Hudson?

Rivals asks the question we’re all wondering: Is Texas A&M becoming a serious threat to Texas Tech for five-star WR Micah Hudson?

Every summer, Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party—during the last weekend in July— takes center stage for every fan and media member ahead of each impending football season.

This year, the 2024 and 2025 recruiting cycles are well represented in College Station for the next two days, as the Aggies Top 15-ranked 2024 recruiting class with 18 verbal commitments, including five wide receivers consisting of Cameron Coleman (five-star), Drelon Miller (four-star), Jaylan Hornsby (four-star), Debron Gatling (four-star), and Earnest Campbell (three-star).

Keeping the focus on the position, one of the hands-down best players in the cycle, five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson, will attend the pool party this weekend. A consistent favorite to land with Texas Tech for quite some time, Hudson’s long-term program flirtation mirrors for five-star wide receiver and current Aggie Evan Stewarts’ flip from the Texas Longhorns just two short years ago, whose attendance at the pool party that summer essentially sealed the deal, and the rest is history.

On Thursday, Rivals’ National Recruiting Director Adam Gorney’s “Fact or Fiction” debate with recruiting analyst Cole Patterson touched on Hudson’s collegiate future, explicitly asking the question, “Is Texas A&M becoming a serious threat to Texas Tech for five-star WR Micah Hudson?” Like myself, Gorney believes that the Aggies are serious contenders for Hudson, who will also visit Texas Tech this weekend.

“There now seems to be a debate whether Micah Hudson will visit Texas Tech or Texas A&M this weekend and that makes this whole thing so much more interesting.

It almost felt like an inevitability that at some point over the last five weeks or so that Hudson was going to commit to Texas Tech. Even behind the scenes, all the necessary steps were taken to break the news and get content out there. But then we waited, and waited, and waited and nothing happened. It’s as if Hudson planned to make his announcement for the Red Raiders and then was convinced to hold off.

And that’s what sources now say happened. It was not Texas that caused the delay mainly but Texas A&M making another run at him and trying to convince him to be in College Station this weekend. If that happens, recruiting momentum can be an interesting thing. Texas Tech still looks great here but until Hudson commits – and then signs – this one might not be over.”

Adam Gorney is one of the best recruiting insiders our industry has to offer, so I take this with much more than a grain of salt, and as I’ve reminded our readers throughout the week leading up to the pool party, a bulk of Texas A&M’s 2024 commits will also be on campus this weekend to aid Jimbo Fisher and his staff in courting players like Hudson, who may just be one selling point away from shocking all of us in the best way possible.

2024 5-star Athlete Terry Bussey has received four Crystal Ball Predictions to land with Texas A&M

2024 5-star Athlete Terry Bussey has received four Crystal Ball Predictions to land with Texas A&M before his official visit this weekend.

One of the many 2024 prospects visiting this weekend during Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party is by far the leading favorite to land with the Aggies sooner than later, as five-star athlete Terry Bussey remains a clear favorite to join wide receiver Cameron Coleman as the second five-star prospect to joining the Aggies 2024 cycle.

As we’ve continued to update his standing with the program every week leading up to this weekend’s festivities, Bussey has now received four total Crystal Ball Predictions from 247Sports, as Oklahoma insider Collin Kennedy and national recruiting analyst Mike Roach join Steve Wiltfong and Brian Perroni in predicting what now seems inevitable.

While LSU and Oklahoma are doing everything in their power to get Bussey back for a visit, his relationship with Jimbo Fisher and his staff, specifically TJ Rushing and Bryant Gross-Armiento, who was recently named one of the top recruiters in the country.

Bussey’s position versatility has led to nearly every program having to narrow down his sole future postion after spending time at quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive back, as Fisher currently sees him as a cornerback in D.J. Durkin’s 4-2-5 scheme.

Bussey is currently positioned as the 15th-ranked player in the class, the 2nd-ranked athlete, and the 2nd-ranked player in Texas, as his upcoming 2023 senior season at Timpson High School is bound to be his most productive yet.

Report: The Aggie football team has its annual open practice set or August 6th

Fans will be able to get their eyes back on the Aggie football team on August 6th for the annual preseason practice.

Football is creeping up on us, and I can’t wait for it to start. The Aggies will have their annual pool party, hoping to make one last big impression on recruits before the season begins. According to a university spokesperson, the Aggie football team will have its annual preseason practice at Kyle Field on August 6th. Media and fans will see how the offense will look under the influence of new OC Bobby Petrino since the spring scrimmage.

There is something to be said about the hire as Texas A&M is hitting on some top 2024 wide receiver recruits, and every time an offense player is asked how things are different, they light up when talking about the offensive changes and speed. Carter Karels of GigEm247 dropped the news earlier today via social media.

What’s at stake for Texas A&M this weekend during its annual recruiting pool party

Texas A&M is set to host a long list of high-profile 2024 and 2025 prospects this weekend during its annual recruiting pool party.

If you’ve read anything published on Aggies Wire this week, or for that matter, this month, Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party is set for this weekend during the final days of July, as Head Coach Jimbo Fisher and his staff will host a very long list elite prospects from the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes, including several players predicted to land with the Aggies in the near future.

Without giving every name away, 2024 five-star prospects such as Edge Colin Simmons, defensive lineman Aydin Breland, athlete Terry Bussey, and cornerback Kobe Black are just some of the exciting names that will descend on College Station, while Bussey remains a clear favorite to land with the Aggies according to multiple recruiting experts.

As On3 writer Joe Spears smartly noted this week, the 2024 five-star wide receiver duo of Micah Hudson and Ryan Wingo will likely be courted by current five-star wideout Cameron Coleman, who recently committed to Texas A&M on July 4, whose importance to influencing the recruiting class continues to grow.

On the offensive line, three four-star prospects, including Bennett Warren, Blake Ivy, and Isaiah Afuha, represent a change in recruiting strategy regarding O-line prospects under Fisher, whose previous bias towards size over athleticism can be seen in all three players. As things stand, Ivy is in good standing with Aggies, while Warren and Afuha are currently leaning in the opposite direction.

Representing the 2025 cycle, five-star cornerback Devin Sanchez will return to campus since attending one of Jimbo Fisher’s A&M camps back in June, joining borderline five-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway as the Aggies’ future at the postion is still influx past the 2023 season. Hence, gaining ground weekend remains an absolute must.

We’re finally near the offseason finish line, and with 18 commitments in the Aggies 2024 recruiting class, it’s time to get back on the momentum train and enjoy the recruiting pool party’s magic.

2024 4-star OL Bennett Warren has announced his upcoming commitment date

2024 4-star OL Bennett Warren, who remains a high-priority recruiting target for the Aggies, has announced his commitment date.

That’s now two high-priority 2024 prospects for Texas A&M announcing their commitment dates just hours apart from one another, as five-star defensive lineman David Stone Jr. will announce on Aug. 26, while four-star offensive lineman Bennett Warren will choose his future collegiate program on Monday, July 31.

Coincidentally, both players are confirmed visitors for this weekend’s recruiting pool party, held annually in College Station during the last weekend of July to bring as many prospects in current and future recruiting cycles together for an official visit and a chance to develop bonds that might lead to a commitment or several down the line.

According to 247Sports, Warren is currently positioned as the 82nd-ranked player in the 2024 cycle, the 5th-ranked offensive tackle, and the 14th-ranked player in Texas. Sticking with his final four program list, Warren will choose between Tennessee, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Texas A&M.

He is heading into his final senior season with Fort Bend Christian Academy as by far the most dominant player in the program while also participating in Basketball and shot put as a Track & Field athlete, adding his versatile athletic profile.

As I’ve said before, Warren’s high school tape is basically a 6-8 and 330-pound giant knocking over young men half his size, and it’s simply a beautiful sight to witness. As it stands, Texas A&M has a 37.5% chance to land the future blocking star, while Michigan is presently leading at 62.5%; however, never down the Aggie pool party magic that is bound to take effect in some former this weekend.
