Here are the 2024 football prospects visiting Texas A&M the weekend of June 9

The summer of official visits continues to roll along as Texas A&M will welcome a handful of high-profile prospects from the 2024 cycle this weekend.

With the summer season having officially kicked off it can only mean one thing: the top prospects of the 2024 cycle will descend upon various campuses for official visits. As we officially turn the page to the second weekend of June, the 2024 recruiting cycle will only continue to heat up from here.

Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher’s busy month of June continues to move along as the Maroon and White welcome close to double-digit visits from a handful of top football prospects. The coming weekend of June 9 will see some of the best recruits on both sides of the ball get a preview of Aggieland, with the hope that they see College Station as their next home for the future.

While a handful of this weekend’s visitors are still taking their time through the decision process, there are at least two current commits making their way to Aggieland.

Here’s the list of the top 2024 football prospects visiting Texas A&M this weekend, June 9:

2024 3-Star Tight end Jordan Washington will visit Texas A&M this coming weekend

Texas A&M is set to host 2024 3-star Tight end Jordan Washington on the weekend of June 2, joining several other 2024 prospects.

We are now just days away from the start of June, and for Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher, the 2024 recruiting cycle is entering one of its more exciting stages; Campus visits.

Throughout the month, the Aggies are nearing double-digit visiting numbers. On the weekend of June 2, three-star Tight end Jordan Washington will join several other high-profile 2024 prospects, including four-star linebacker Tyanthony Smith, 3-star OL Coen Echols, and four-star OL Makai Saina, there-star WR Earnest Campbell, and four-star OL Bennett Warren.

Texas A&M offered Washington back May 20 on the same day he unofficially visited College Station, and it looks as if the communication channel between both parties has remained stable while his stock has continued to rise, as Alabama and Baylor fielded offers eight days later.

Presently, Washington is positioned as the 29th-ranked Tight end prospect and the 74th-ranked player in Texas, according to 247Sports. Entering his senior season at Langham Creek High School in Houston, Texas, Washington is Jimbo Fisher’s first in-state tight end offer, and there’s a reason for that. Size, speed, and wide receiver-like skills, paired with his 6-4 205-pound frame, Washington’s inline blocking ability adds to his versatility at the position, making him a seamless fit in A&M’s pro-style/spread offense under Fisher and the new offensive coordinator, Bobby Petrino.

After what was widely noted as a positive first visit earlier this month, I do not doubt that Fisher and his staff will pull out all the stops this coming weekend when Washington arrives in College Station.

2024 3-Star CB and FIU commit Larry Tarver Jr. is set to vist Texas A&M in June

Texas A&M will reportedly host 2024 3-star Cornerback and FIU commit Larry Tarver Jr. in June.

The first two weekends in June present enormous recruiting opportunities for Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher, as it has been reported that 2024 three-star cornerback Larry Tarver Jr., who is currently committed to FIU, will visit College Station on the weekend of June 9-11, joining several other 2024 prospects including four-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart.

Tarver committed to FIU in late March, but after the Aggies offered him on May 24, his collegiate future may be flexible. According to 247Sports, Tarver is positioned as the 94th-ranked cornerback in the class and the 168th-ranked prospect in Florida.

Standing at 5-11 and 165 pounds, Tarver’s weight is most likely one of the primary reasons for his lack of Power 5 offers; his play on the field paints a different picture, possessing the suddenness, deep speed, and mirroring ability in press coverage. He has also seen time at wide receiver and on special teams as a kick returner, adding another layer to his versatile profile.

Like many prospects at the cornerback and wide receiver position, Tarver participates in Track and Field, where he posted a 10.6 100-meter and 21.5 200-meter time last season. Texas A&M won’t be the only Power 5 program scouting Tarver next season, but as it stands, the Aggies may have the upper hand going into the summer.

Texas A&M will host two standout 2024 O-linemen in June

Texas A&M is set to host two standout 2024 Offensive linemen this June in the midst of their critical summer recruiting push

Heading into head coach Jimbo Fisher’s sixth season with the program, Texas A&M is placing a critical focus on building the offensive line through recruiting and development instead of simply grabbing veteran players from the transfer portal, as the 2024 cycle features two priority recruits on the O-line including three-star Coen Echols and four-star Makai Saina.

Echols, who has primarily played at right and left guard during his high school career at Katy, uses every bit of his 6-3, 285-pound frame to destroy any defender in his way as a fierce mauler in the run game, with ways to go as a pass protector simply due to lack of experience in a run-heavy offense. Currently, a favorite to land with the Maroon and White, Echols will take an official visit to College Station on June 2. According to 247Sports, Echols is ranked as the 38th interior offensive lineman and 93rd-ranked player in Texas.

Makai Saina, who will be entering his final senior season at Martin High School in Arlington, Texas, is an equally dominant run blocker in both zone and gap schemes, with a slightly larger frame at 6-4 and 290 pounds. Also, a current favorite to land with the Aggies, Saina will also be visiting College Station on June 2, just before his official visit to Austin, Texas, and the Texas Longhorns on June 23rd, so let’s hope Fisher and his staff seal the deal ahead of time. According to 247Sports Composite, Saina is ranked as the 24th interior offensive lineman and the 66th-ranked player in Texas.

Building through the interior with Fisher and newly minted offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino at the helm is a sign that the power run game mixed with a spread passing offense is here to stay, and if Texas A&M wants to contend for an SEC Title and a spot in the College Football Playoff for the first time since the 2020 season, elite play in the trenches is an absolute must.

2024 4-Star DL Nigel Smith places Texas A&M among his Top 8 program list

Texas A&M has found itself within 2024 4-star defensive lineman Nigel Smith’s Top 8 program list

Texas A&M recruiting is off to a hot start this week after the Aggies officially landed 2024 four-star safety Jordan Pride on Tuesday afternoon, more news from the 2024 cycle has emerged, as four-star defensive lineman Nigel Smith has released his Top 8 program list, which happened to include Texas A&M.

After offering Smith in May of last year, Smith has slowly become a priority recruit for the Maroon and White ever since, taking unofficial visits to College Station on June 21, July 30, and April 1, while his official campus visit is set for June 23rd. According to On3, is the 88-ranked player in the class, and ranked individually as the 11th defensive lineman, and 15th-ranked player in Texas.

Heading into his final senior season at Melissa High School in Melissa, Texas, Smith’s epic 2022 junior season has skyrocketed his recruiting value, recording 103 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles as a 3-tech defensive lineman and outside linebacker.

Listed at 6-5 and just over 260 pounds, Smith’s first-step explosiveness off the snap while using his natural strength to stack and shed blockers is one of the many reasons quarterbacks are constantly running from left to right in mere seconds after the snap. As a current favorite to land with Oklahoma, Smith’s official visit to College Station this summer could change his recruiting projections as quickly as he gets off blocks.

2024 4-star DL and Aggie commit Dealyn Evans named Defensive Line MVP at Rivals Camp

2024 4-star defensive lineman and Aggie commit Dealyn Evans was named D-line MVP at the annual Rivals Camp Series

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is still in its early stages ahead of a crucial commitment push this summer, but even with only five players committed as of May, 4-star defensive lineman Dealyn Evans stands out as an elite prospect at the position, whose status as a future game-wrecker is continuing to grow after participating in the annual Rival Camp Series this weekend in Dallas, Texas

Standing out every year as the only free high school football combine in the country, Evans, to no one’s surprise, put on a show while listed at 6-4, 260 pounds, notably lining up against 2024 3-star offensive tackle Coen Echols, a priority recruit for the Aggies.

Moving around the defensive line, Evans continued to show his versatility as a pass rusher on the outside and in the interior, successfully beating his man off the snap throughout the afternoon. Due to his performance, Evans was named Defensive Line MVP for the weekend.

According to Rivals, Evans is rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the 47th player in the country, and the 17th-ranked Strongside Defensive end prospect in the 2024 class. After committing to the Aggies on July 31 of last year, Evans’s stock has continued to rise ahead of his senior season at Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas.

2024 5-star Athlete Terry Bussey places Texas A&M among his final 11 program list

Texas A&M has officially made 2024 5-star ATH Terry Bussey’s Final 11 program list ahead of a major recruiting push for the future star.

The Aggies now know where they stand with 2024 five-star Athlete Terry Bussey, who according to multiple recruiting sites is a favorite to land with the Maroon and White, but as we know, nothing is ever official until the pen hits paper.

On Monday, things became clearer after Bussey announced his final Top 11 program list, which included Auburn, Texas, Florida, TCU, Oregon, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, and of course, Texas A&M.

According to 247Sports, Bussey is ranked as the 17th player in the 2024 cycle, the No.1-ranked Athlete, and the 4th-ranked player in Texas. Projected as a wide receiver at the collegiate level, the most accurate comparison from a Texas A&M perspective would be do-it-all WR Ainias Smith, and no offense to Smith’s skill set, but Bussey’s next-level speed, athleticism, and versatility set him apart from nearly every receiver on the Aggies’ 2023 roster.

Bussey’s high school stats during his 2022 junior season at Timpson High School in Timpson, Texas are otherworldly, throwing for 2,177 yards and 26 touchdowns with a 64% completion percentage as the starting quarterback while rushing for 2,596 yards and 46 touchdowns with a 14-yard per rush average. As a two-way player, Bussey recorded over 115 tackles and 5 interceptions with 4 returned for touchdowns as a defensive back.

After taking an unofficial visit to College Station on Apr. 8th, things have been heating up between both parties, so let’s say very good news regarding Bussey’s playing future could be on the horizon.

2024 5-star DL Dominick McKinley set to visit Texas A&M this summer

It has been reported that 2024 5-star DL Dominick McKinley will visit College Station next month

Texas A&M is set to host a litany of recruits this summer with a focus on the 2024 and 2025 recruiting cycles, and in an effort to continue landing some of the best defensive linemen every class to offer, it has been reported that five-star DL Dominick McKinley out Lafayette, Louisiana will visit College next month on June 9-11.

The Aggies offered McKinley back on Dec. 12th of last year, and the 6-5, 290 pound Acadiana High School product has received 20 plus offers including Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Oklahoma, Oregon, Michigan State, Florida, Colorado, and while his hometown LSU Tigers may have a slight edge, but never count out Texas A&M defensive line coach and recruiting ace Elijah Robinson due to his recent track record alone.

According to On3, Dominick McKinley is ranked as the 14th player in the 2024 cycle, the 3rd-ranked defensive lineman, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Louisiana. As a multi-sport athlete, something Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher places an emphasis on during the recruiting process, Mckinley participates in the shot put, and posted three 47+ throws during his junior season in March, including a 47-11.

2024 4-star WR Jaylan Hornsby set to visit Texas A&M in June

2024 4-star WR Jaylan Hornsby is set to visit Texas A&M this June after announcing his plans via Twitter

Texas A&M is preparing for their long and arduous recruiting push this summer, as a number of high-profile prospects are set to descend upon College Station and while some dates have yet to be confirmed, one player has dotted the I’s and crossed the T’s as 2024 4-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby all the way out of New Jersey will take an official campus visit on June 16 through the 18th.

Hailing from Camden, New Jersey to be exact, Hornsby is ranked as the 55th wide receiver and 11th-ranked player in New Jersey, while being heavily pursued by Rutgers and Penn State. However, after offering the rising pass catcher on March 27th, Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher has been dead set on earning a spot among his preferred programs list, and knowing Fisher’s success in recruiting talent from the east coast, it’s no surprise that Hornsby has become a priority recruit for the Maroon and White.

Standing at 6-2 and 195 pounds, Hornsby recorded 23 receptions for 441 yards and 2 touchdowns in 8 games during his 2022 junior campaign. His size, speed, and athleticism in the open field are displayed throughout his sophomore and junior tape, notably excelling in the screen game.

Texas A&M offers 2024 3-star WR Dozie Ezukanma

Texas A&M looking for more speed at wide receiver for the future, fielding an offer to 2024 3-star WR Dozie Ezukhanma on Thursday

Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher must have been fans of former Texas Tech wide receiver Erik Ezukanma because if you didn’t know, he has a brother by the name of Dozie Ezukanma, who happens to be a four-star wide receiver in the 2024 class, and just received an offer from Texas A&M.

According to 247Sports, Ezukanma is ranked as the 85th wide receiver and 101th-ranked player in Texas. So far, he’s received 14 offers including Arizona, Arkansas, Houston, Kansas, and Kansas State, as the Aggies are officially his biggest offer, and hopefully his his most intriguing.

Entering his senior season at All Saints Episcopal in Forth Worth, Texas, Ezukanma recorded 42 receptions for 587 yards and 6 touchdowns during his 2022 junior campaign, including 1 kick return touchdown. Outside of football, his athleticism hasn’t been wasted, as he also competes in track and field, recording sophomore bests of 21.4.25 in the long jump and 39-1.75 in the triple jump in the Spring of 2022.

Standing at 6-2 and 180 pounds, Ezukanma has the size and speed to emulate what his brother was able to do at the collegiate level, and with the success Texas A&M has had at developing the wide receiver position over the last decade, the Aggies will surely be on his mind.
