Texas A&M at Alabama odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas A&M at Alabama odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Texas A&M Aggies (3-2, 1-1 SEC) and the Alabama Crimson Tide (5-0, 2-0) meet for a conference game Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Texas A&M vs. Alabama odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Texas A&M picked up a thrilling neutral-site win over Arkansas (23-21) Sept. 24 but then dropped a 42-24 decision at Mississippi State last Saturday to slip to 3-2 SU/2-3 ATS overall. The Over result was the Aggies’ first of the season.

The Crimson Tide lost QB Bryce Young to injury last week, and he is questionable to play due to a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. QB Jalen Milroe came on and played well in his absence at Arkansas last week. Young is considered a true game-time decision.

Texas A&M at Alabama picks and predictions

Prediction

Alabama 34, Texas A&M 17

Moneyline

Alabama (-3000) wouldn’t be worth playing anyway, laying 30 times your potential return. However, the Tide are very risky given the unknown status of Young.

PASS.

Against the spread

TEXAS A&M +23.5 (-107) is worth a roll of the dice.

The Aggies have struggled to score points, but they should be able to keep this one at least within 3 touchdowns if Milroe is the starting QB for Alabama. Texas A&M has a solid defense which will give them a chance to hang around. If Young plays, go lightly, although the defense of A&M should still be able to give him fits, too.

Over/Under

OVER 48.5 (-105) is only worth playing lightly, as it has cashed in 4 straight meetings in this series.

However, there is some risk, as Texas A&M has hit the Under in 4 of the past 5 games overall, and 12 of the past 17 road games. But this is a super low number for college football, and we should get into the 50-point range here.

First look: Texas A&M at Alabama odds and lines

Looking at Saturday’s Texas A&M at Alabama college football odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Texas A&M Aggies (3-2) limp into Tuscaloosa to battle the Alabama Crimson Tide (5-0) Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. (CBS). Below, we look at Texas A&M vs. Alabama odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our college football picks and predictions.

First Nick Saban said some stuff. Then Jimbo Fisher said some stuff. Only one of these teams have backed up their coach’s words on the field.

The Crimson Tide are undefeated and looking to beat the only team to beat them in the last 2 regular seasons. To avenge a 41-38 loss from 2021, Alabama hopes QB Bryce Young is able to play despite a shoulder injury suffered against Arkansas last Saturday. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is the leader of an offense which, despite the unblemished record, has not fully gelled yet in 2022.

Texas A&M does not have an offense. This took an even bigger hit when star WR Ainias Smith went down for the season against Mississippi State.

The QB position has been a position of contention as well. Haynes King started the season before being benched for Max Johnson. After Johnson went down with a hand injury last week, King re-emerged but was unable to provide a spark. As big as these 2 brands are in the SEC, this game will not match up with the hype it has received. But we thought the same last season. So, stay tuned.

Texas A&M vs. Alabama head-to-head

Alabama went into Kyle Field last season as -18.5 favorites and walked out on the losing end of a 41-38 score. Before the victory, the Aggies had been blown out by the Crimson Tide each of the prior 3 seasons, with the lowest margin of victory being 19 in 2019.

The past 4 games between the schools have gone Over the total. If A&M can get to 10 points, this game should also.

Saturday will be the 15th time they’ve played with ‘Bama ahead 11-3. A&M’s win last year snapped an Alabama 8-game win streak in the series.
