2026 4-star DL out of Mount Olive (NC) reafirms his commitment to Texas A&M

During a recent interview, 2026 4-star DL Trashawn Ruffin states that he is firmly committed to Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class will continue to grow this spring/summer. While coach Mike Elko and his staff are hard at work visiting prospects this month, one of the program’s recent commits in the 2026 cycle recently discussed his relationship with the Aggies.

In an interview with TexAgs (subscription required), four-star defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin, who committed to the program last October, has continued to receive interest from nearly every college football program in the country ever since.

Speaking with TexAgs recruiting analyst Jason Howell, Ruffin stated that he loves Texas A&M and is locked in with the program moving forward, and for those who see this as an unsurprising update, recruiting never stops, and commitment flips comes when no one is paying attention.

Ruffin undeniably excels in the trenches. Standing at 6-3 and weighing over 300 pounds, his remarkable lower body strength and sharp grasp of leverage establish him as one of the nation’s top run-stoppers.

Considering his size and strength, I anticipate that Ruffin will play nose tackle when he arrives at College Station.

247Sports ranks Ruffin as the 208th overall prospect, the 29th defensive lineman, and the 13th prospect from North Carolina.

2026 4-star RB out of Hollywood (FL) places Texas A&M in his Top 10 program list

2026 is a finalist for one of the rising running back prospect in the 2026 recruiting class

Every major college football program focuses on recruiting in the early winter months. With the talented 2026 cycle under the microscope, coach Mike Elko and his staff have landed ten commitments, including four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory.

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked fourth nationally (On3) with 10 commitments. While the class is versatile position-wise, OC Collin Klein’s scheme is predicated on running back depth, which hindered the Aggies this past season.

On Tuesday, 2026 four-star running back Derrek Cooper announced his top 10 programs, which include Texas A&M, Georgia, Miami (FL), Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, and Ole Miss.

Cooper is a two-way player with borderline elite athleticism. While his experience as a safety and linebacker is intriguing, his speed, footwork, and vision as a running back have every program listed consider him a running back at the next level.

During his 2024 junior season at Chaminade-Madona Prep, Cooper rushed for 905 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 46 tackles, four sacks, ten tackles for loss, an interception, and four pass deflections.

Texas A&M 2026 4-star WR commit discussed his early commitment to the Aggies

2026 4-star WR Aaron Gregory is still strongly committed to his pledge with Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class will continue to grow in the coming months, but for coach Mike Elko and his staff this offseason, keeping all ten of the cycle’s commits, including four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, is key to keeping the momentum flowing.

Last Saturday, Gregory, alongside several 2025 Texas A&M signees, participated in the annual Navy All-American bowl game as one of the younger prospects on the roster, noting his elite ability and future stardom at the next level.

As one of Texas A&M’s earlier 2026 commits, chatter regarding Texas and other programs looking to flip his commitment was unsurprising, but during a recent interview with GigEm247’s Andrew Hattersley, Gregory detailed what keeps his connection to the Aggies strong, including working with wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins:

“Coach Wiggins is something, man. Real fun coach. Want me to be the greatest. Want me to do my best. He going to push me to do my best. I feel like he is definitely one of the best receiver coaches, if not the best in college right now,” Gregory stated. “He sees a mixture of a lot of DeVonta’s attributes and like Isaiah Bond when he was coaching him. There’s just a lot of different things that he tells me about.”

Wiggins, who has received substantial criticism from the Aggie fan base after missing out on several high-ranking recruits and transfer players since his arrival, is enjoying a redemption tour, especially if he keeps Gregory committed to the program.

“As of right now, I don’t know. I don’t have no feeling towards it,” Gregory stated. “I feel like me and A&M are locked in for good, but things happen.”

This is a good sign, but nothing is definitive until he signs next December.

Texas A&M will reportedly host 2026 4-star SF on Saturday

2026 4-star wing TJ Crumble will attend Texas A&M’s home game vs. LSU on Saturday night

Texas A&M coach Buzz Williams’s sixth season with the program started with a bang during nonconference play. Still, after star point guard Wade Taylor IV for the last three SEC games, the Aggies sit at 13-4 and 2-2 in conference play after falling to Kentucky on Tuesday night.

While the season at hand is the primary focus, Williams has begun to make an impact on the recruiting trail, as the news that 2027 5-star wing Ryan Hampton is considering the Aggies was just a tiny portion of the evergrowing news regarding the program’s current influence among high school prospects.

Focusing on the 2026 cycle, Williams has yet to land a commitment in the class. Still, he will reportedly host four-star small forward/wing TJ Crumble out of Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday, as the incoming senior will attend Texas A&M’s home matchup vs. LSU that evening.

In an interview with recruiting insider Kannon Torres, Crumble detailed why he’s considering the Aggies:

“The team plays as a whole. They play very hard, play fast; and have great chemistry together and that’s something I could see myself being a part of”

According to 247Sports, Crumble is currently positioned as the 91st-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 16th-ranked power forward, and the 3rd-ranked prospect in Ohio.

Texas A&M will return home to host LSU in Reed Arena on Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. CST. The game can be watched on the SEC Network.

Texas A&M will host 2026 5-star OT out of Rockville (MD) this weekend

Texas A&M will reportedly host the No. 2-ranked offensive in the 2026 class this weekend for junior day

Texas A&M’s upcoming weekend is a busy one for coach Mike Elko and his staff, as the football program will host a long list of 2026 prospects, including the No. 1 and No. 2-ranked offensive tackles in the cycle, as five-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho will join fellow five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell in College Station on Saturday.

After signing six offensive linemen in the 2025 class, OL coach Adam Cushing has already significantly impacted the field and the recruiting trail. Hence, it’s no surprise that the two top-ranked O-line prospects are considering the program and will likely discuss their visit for weeks after the fact.

Cantwell is the highest-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, showcasing impressive length and footwork akin to Iheanacho’s. Both players excel in pass protection, approaching elite levels while demonstrating significant run-blocking abilities, with the potential for even more growth at the next level.

Elko and Cushing know that landing one or both players would not only put the Aggies’ 2026 recruiting class in elite territory, but securing bookend starters for years to come would lead to vast improvement for A&M’s offense through the air and on the ground.

Ranked behind Nixa (MO) OT Jackson Cantwell, Immanuel Iheanacho is currently positioned as the 2nd-ranked prospect and offensive tackle in the class and the No. 1-ranked player in Maryland.

Texas A&M is a contender to land 2026 5-star WR out of Hattiesburg (MS)

2026 5-star WR Tristen Keys is considering Texas A&M as his collegiate destination

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class has risen in the rankings after landing the tenth commitment in the cycle after four-star wide receiver Madden Williams announced his intentions on Saturday afternoon.

Williams joins fellow four-star receiver Aaron Gregory in the cycle, but given coach Mike Elko’s recent recruiting and transfer portal track record, these won’t be the last wide receivers that will commit to the Aggies this offseason.

On Sunday, just hours after Elko and his staff landed a commitment from former NC State WR KC Concepcion, On3’s Chad Simmons revealed that 2026 four-star WR Tristen Keys is considering Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas A&M in the final stages of his recruitment.

Hailing from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Keys is an impressive athlete capable of becoming a standout outside receiver at the next level, thanks to his 6’2″, 175-pound build, exceptional hands, and top-tier acceleration.

While Tennessee remains the favorite to land his commitment, Keys visited Texas A&M during the Aggies’ comeback win over LSU and has stayed in contact with the coaching staff ever since.

According to 247Sports, Tristen Keys is currently positioned as the 4th-ranked prospect in the cycle and No. 1 wide receiver and player out of Mississippi.

Texas A&M lands a commitment from 2026 4-star TE out Lakewood (CA)

Texas A&M has earned a commitment from one of the top tight ends in the 2026 recruiting class

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class has added its ninth commitment as of Saturday afternoon, as four-star tight end Caleb Tafua chose the Aggies over UCLA, Cal, Washington, and California. He is the first tight end pledge in the class.

With Collin Klein at OC, tight end is at a premium, playing a critical role in the offense ranging from inline blocking to splitting out wide, and on tape, Caleb Tafua looks the part.

Tafua is an up-and-comer with plenty of potential. He has strong hands and notable speed, and his multi-sport background as a volleyball and basketball player has aided his development. In 12 games during his 2024 junior season at Lakewood HS, Tafua recorded 44 receptions for 795 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Tafua stands at 6-4 and nearly 220 pounds, but once he enters a collegiate program, expect at least 20-30 more pounds to be added.

According to 247Sports, Tafua is currently ranked as the 193rd-ranked prospect, the 11th-ranked tight end, and the 26th-ranked prospect in California.
