2025 4-star CB out of Pearland (TX) has placed Texas A&M in his Top 6 program list

Texas A&M has made the cut for 2025 4-star cornerback Cobey Sellers.

During Texas A&M Baseball’s opening season win over McNeese State on Friday night, head football coach Mike Elko, who sat down for an early game interview, explained that he wears two hats in his position: one as the program’s coach and one as Texas A&M Football’s CEO.

In the ever-changing landscape of NIL, coupled with the growing number of transfer portal members year after year, Elko is ready for the challenge and after landing several players in the 2025 recruiting class earlier this month, 2025 4-star cornerback Cobey Sellers out of Pearland (TX) has placed the Aggies in his Top 6 program list.

Texas A&M and former head coach Jimbo Fisher offered Sellers back In early June, joining nearly 30 programs vying for his commitment. On Saturday, Sellers slimmed down his list to include LSU, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia and Texas A&M.

Standing at 5 11 and nearly 180 pounds, Sellers has performed at several positions on both sides of the ball during his high school career but displays the length, speed, and ball instincts to thrive at the cornerback position for years to come.

According to 247Sports, Sellers is currently positioned as the 124th prospect in the 2025 cycle, the 17th-ranked cornerback, and the 18th-ranked player in Texas.

Texas A&M offers 2025 OL out of Mountain View (CA)

Texas A&M has fielded an offer to highly underrated 2025 offensive lineman Atamai Matau out of California.

One of the more interesting aspects of college football recruiting concerns the underrated prospects who receive little attention due to their lack of ranking pedigree, while many of them go on to have highly productive collegiate careers.

Within the 2025 recruiting cycle, plenty of those underreported players, including interior offensive lineman Atamai “Ata” Matau, who is entering his senior season at St. Francis HS in Mountain View, California. Texas A&M offered Matau this week, joining Ole Miss, Penn State, TCU, Arizona, Louisville, and UC Berkeley as his other Power 5 offers.

Standing at 6-2 and 310 pounds, Matau took snaps at both center and right guard, exhibiting strength and balance in run blocking while finishing his blocks at a high rate. However, his time playing in a run-heavy offense has likely hindered his recruiting prowess, as his pass-protection snaps are few and far between.

Already acquiring 3-star offensive lineman Joshua Moses in the 2025 cycle, I expect head coach Mike Elko and his staff to be heavily invested in landing Matau moving forward.

2025 4-Star out of Dallas (TX) set to release his Top 10 program list

2025 4-star linebacker Elijah Barnes out of Dallas (TX) is set to release his Top 10 program list, which will likely include Texas A&M.

Texas A&M and head coach Mike Elko are still in the market for one or two more linebackers in the 2025 recruiting class after landing 4-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins earlier this month while recently landing in 2025 4-star linebacker Riley Pettijohn’s Top 6 program list.

Speaking of program lists, 2025 4-star linebacker Elijah Barnes out of Dallas, Texas, is coming off his recent visit to College Station last month during one of Texas A&M’s junior days, and by all accounts, the visit was a rousing success while Barnes was able to further his relationships with the Aggies coaching staff.

On Wednesday, Barnes announced that he will release his Top 10 program list on March 1, and out of his nearly 30 offers, the Aggies are destined to be among the ten considered programs.

According to 247Sports Composite, Barnes is currently positioned as the 83rd-ranked player in the 2025 cycle, the 12th-ranked linebacker prospect, and the 14th-ranked player in Texas.

Barnes is set to enter his senior year at Skyline High School. During his 2023 junior campaign, Barnes recorded 65 tackles (57 solo tackles), three sacks, five interceptions, and 12 tackles for loss on the year.

Like Kelvion Riggins, Barnes has a nose for the football, possessing the pursuit speed and understanding of blocking angles in the run game, with the instincts and athleticism to cover the middle of the field.

2025 4-Star S out of Lake Cormorant (MS) has placed Texas A&M in his Top 8 program list

The recruiting momentum continues for Mike Elko, as Texas A&M has landed in 2025 safety Jarcoby Hopson’s Top 8 program list.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is complete after head coach Mike Elko secured signings from several key prospects, headlined by 5-star athlete Terry Bussey and 4-star wide receiver Ashton Belton-Roman, who was previously committed to Arkansas.

Elko and his staff have shifted all their remaining focus to gaining ground with the 2025 cycle, already securing commitments from 4-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins and 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway just two weeks ago. As the recruiting momentum continues, the Aggies have received interest from one of the top safeties in the 2025 class.

On Saturday, 4-star safety Jarcoby Hopson placed Texas A&M in his Top 8 program list, joining Ole Miss, Texas, LSU, Auburn, Miami, Arkansas and Mississippi State. One of the best athletes in the country, Hopson is projected to play either linebacker or safety at the next level due to his size (6-1 205 pounds) and defensive instincts, but he could easily compete as a running back if asked.

Hopson is coming off his productive 2023 junior campaign at Lake Cormorant HS (MS), recording 71 tackles (51 solo tackles), four tackles for loss on defense, and 146 carries for 785 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

According to 247Sports Composite, Hopson is currently positioned as the 160th-ranked player in the class, the 20th-ranked linebacker, and the 5th-ranked prospect in Mississippi.

2025 5-Star WR and Aggie legacy out of Fulshear (TX) is ‘Impressed’ with Texas A&M’s coaching staff

2025 5-star wide receiver Andrew Marsh, a Texas A&M legacy, had only good things to say about head coach Mike Elko and his staff.

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko deserves to take a victory lap after putting the finishing touches on the Aggies’ impressive 16th-ranked 2024 recruiting class, securing the recruiting signing of 5-star athlete Terry Bussey, 4-star wide receiver Ashton Belton-Roman, and 3-star offensive tackle Robert Bourdon.

With all three prospects officially added to the cycle, Elko can now completely shift his focus to the 2025 cycle, which includes 5-star wide receiver and Aggie legacy Andrew Marsh.

Marsh, who took an unofficial visit to College Station back on Jan. 20, recently spoke to On3 to discuss where Texas A&M stands in his recruitment as one of the most talented prospects in the 2025 cycle not only has family ties to the university but has been an Aggie fan his entire life.

“Getting to talk to both of those guys just impressed me more by the type of people they are and what they have planned for the program,” Marsh stated to On3.“The biggest thing I could see was just the attention to detail and the way they are just way more approachable and easier to talk to. My biggest takeaway from the visit was that they plan to come in and make some big changes for the good of Texas A&M football.”

Entering his final senior season at Katy Jordan, Marsh, who stands at 6-1 and 173 pounds, possesses the game-breaking speed, soft hands, and impressive catch radius needed to excel at the next level. Surprisingly, Texas A&M, under then head coach Jimbo Fisher, didn’t offer March until last April, on the same day he took his first unofficial visit.

Already recording 2,414 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns in three varsity seasons, Marsh is coming off his most productive season yet, netting 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns through the air.

According to 247Sports Composite, Andrew Marsh is currently positioned as the 19th-ranked player in the 2025 cycle, the 5th-ranked player in Texas, and the 4th-ranked wide receiver.

2025 3-Star OL out of Savannah (GA) has placed Texas A&M in his Top 10 program list

Texas A&M has landed in 2025 3-star OL Jacobe Ward’s Top 10 program list.

Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko is moving closer and closer to securing what can only be described as a statement-making recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, already securing commitments from 4-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins and 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway last weekend.

While gaining traction with prospects from every position group is of utmost importance, the offensive line is one of the highest turnover positions year after year due to poor play and the ever-growing transfer portal. During Jimbo Fisher’s final season at the helm, the Aggie’s O-line struggled mightily, leading to Elko hiring new offensive line coach Adam Cushing.

Looking to load up in the trenches for the near future, Texas A&M has officially landed in 2025 3-star offensive lineman Jacobe Ward’s Top 10 program list, which includes West Virginia, Auburn, South Carolina, Miami, LSU, UCF, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas A&M.

Ward, who stands at 6-4 334 pounds, has performed at right tackle for most of his career at Benedictine Military School but possesses the size and strength to switch to guard at the next level. According to 247Sports, Ward is currently positioned as the 48th-ranked interior offensive lineman and the 66th-ranked player in Georgia.

2025 4-star RB out of DeSoto (TX) plans to return to Texas A&M

After visiting this weekend, 2025 4-star running back Deondrae Riden will reportedly return to College Station soon.

After another successful weekend hosting a plethora of 2025 and 2026 prospects, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko’s influence on the program has clearly taken shape as the new regime looks to create lasting relationships to build toward the future.

One of said weekend visitors, 2025 4-star running back Deondrae Riden, has been on the Aggies’ radar for quite some time, getting to know Elko and his staff for the past two days and in a recent interview with TexAgs’ Jason Howell, the feeling is mutual.

“I’ll definitely be back.”

Back in September, Riden had begun to narrow his list of possible future collegiate destinations, including USC, Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas Tech, Texas, Ole Miss, SMU, and Texas A&M. Needing to continue adding talent in the backfield every recruiting cycle due to the ever-growing transfer portal; this is a solid first step in creating a positive relationship.

During his 2023 junior season at Desoto (TX), Riden, who already displays excellent vision and footwork with incredible balance while evading defenders, produced at a high level with 137 attempts for 1,023 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

According to 247Sports, Riden is currently positioned as the 15th-ranked running back and the 33rd-ranked player in Texas. Texas A&M currently has three commits in the 2025 class: 3-star IOL Joshua Moses, 4-star LB Kelvion Riggins and 4-star CB Deyjhon Pettaway.

Here is this weekend’s list of 2025 & 2026 who visited Texas A&M

Another weekend, another long list of 2025 & 2026 visitors who made their way to College Station this weekend.

Keeping the recruiting momentum alive, this weekend’s group of visitors included the likes of several high-priority 2025 recruits led by 4-star running back Tory Blaylock, 4-star wide receiver Taz Williams, and 3-star wide receiver and son of Hall of Fame RB Jerome Bettis, Jerome Bettis Jr.

However, 2024 5-star athlete and current Texas A&M commit Terry Bussey’s final visit to CSTAT before signing with either the A&M, LSU, or Georgia during National Singing Day on Wednesday, Feb 7, still looms large until his final announcement is made.

While Elko and his staff have done everything in their collective power to persuade Bussey to keep his commitment to the program, plenty of future talent have become acquainted with the Maroon & White, with the potential for more commitments to come.

Here are all the 2025 and 2026 visitors who made their way to College Station this weekend.

Report: 2025 4-Star QB out of Corona (CA) visited Texas A&M this weekend

It has been confirmed that 2025 4-star quarterback Husan Longstreet visited Texas A&M for junior day this weekend.

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class has the potential to grow exponentially over the next couple of months, as head coach Mike Elko and his staff hosted a bevy of 2025 and 2026 prospects during the third junior day weekend, which also happened to include the Aggies remaining 2024 commit, 5-star athlete Terry Bussey.

On Saturday, it was reported that a surprise visitor made the list, as 247Sports reported that 2025 4-star quarterback Husan Longstreet is in College Station this weekend attending said junior day.

After receiving an offer from Texas A&M late last month, Longstreet has been in contact with Elko ever since. At the same time, new Aggies offensive coordinator Collin Klein is undoubtedly an intriguing pitch. Standing at 6-1 and 185 pounds, Longstreet possesses one of the strongest arms in the 2025 cycle, coupled with a quick release and improving accuracy.

During his 2023 junior season, Longstreet completed 199/298 for 3,013 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, with 645 rushing yards and seven scores.

According to 247Sports, Longstreet is currently positioned as the 55th-ranked player in the 2025 recruiting class, the 5th-ranked quarterback, and the No. 1-ranked player in California.

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko is looking to continue adding more linebackers to the 2025 class, recently visiting 2025 4-star LB Noah Mikhail.

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has been the hardest working man in College Station this year, taking recruiting visit after recruiting visit, which has continued into February, as the Aggies’ 2025 recruiting class looks to grow tenfold before spring football begins next month.

This week, Elko has already visited several 2025 prospects out of California, including standout 4-star cornerback Chuck McDonald and 4-star linebacker Noah Mikhail out of La Verne, California.

Already landing 4-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins last weekend, Elko is looking to acquire as much talent as possible at the position for the future. Heavily pursued by USC, Mikhail, who stands at 6-3 and 205 pounds, is among the top defensive athletes in the 2025 cycle.

Possessing the speed, instincts, and tackling ability to excel as either a linebacker or safety at the next level, Mikhail has also played on offense as a running back and wide receiver throughout high school.

During his 2023 junior season at Bonita HS, Mikhail recorded 166 tackles (98 solo tackles), 15 tackles for loss, a sack, and two interceptions on defense. Offensively, Mikhail netted 363 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns, combined with 455 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns through the air.
