2025 4-star WR out of North Shore (TX) has placed Texas A&M in his Top 3 program list

Texas A&M has made the final 3 for 2025 4-star WR Quanell X Farrakhan Jr

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has made significant headway with one of the top uncommitted 2025 prospects. Four-star wide receiver Quanell X Farrakhan Jr., who transferred to the prestigious North Shore HS before his 2024 senior season, released his final Top 3 program list on Easter Sunday.

Farrakhan’s profile has continued to rise. He received 20 offers, including Alabama, just days after receiving his offer from Texas A&M. Unsurprisingly, The Aggies joined Alabama and Nebraska in his Top 3 and likely final program list before committing to a program.

Even more interesting, Penn State, who was a favorite to land his commitment early in the process, is now out of the picture. At the same time, the Crimson Tide made significant strides early last month, taking several unofficial visits to Tuscaloosa compared to his one visit to Texas A&M back in early Feb.

It’s no surprise Elko and his staff are intrigued by Farrakhan’s skill set. The quick and elusive route runner amassed 2,086 receiving yards, 330 rushing yards, and 35 total touchdowns from 2021-2023 and is on track to put up big numbers in 2024 in his first and final high school season.

2025 5-Star OL Michael Fasusi will reportedly make an announcement On April 1

A top schools reveal? Most likely

This could mean anything, but after taking two consecutive visits to Texas A&M, 2025 5-star offensive lineman Michael Fasusi has announced through X that he will make an announcement of some sort on Monday, April 1, and yes, we are aware that it is also April Fools Day.

Staying in the realm of reality, this could be one of two outcomes: A commitment reveal, which is highly unlikely with several future visits lined up, or, more likely, a top schools reveal.

Simply watching his 2023 tape, Fasusi is an exceptional athlete with immediate starting potential as soon as his first collegiate season. Not since former starting Texas A&M guard Kenyon Green have I watched a prospect with such elite traits, both as a run blocker and in pass protection.

Standing at 6-4 and nearly 300 pounds, Fasusi is highly versatile with experience at both tackle spots, but his future is clearly set at left tackle due to his quickness and impressive footwork.

According to 247Sports Composite, Fasusi is currently positioned as the 11th-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle, the second-ranked offensive tackle, and the third-ranked prospect in Texas.

With nearly 40 offers already, it looks like Fasusi is down to choosing between Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.

2025 4-Star LB out of Omaha (NE) will reportedly visit Texas A&M in early April

2025 4-star LB Christian Jones will visit Texas A&M next Thursday

This weekend, Texas A&M and head coach Mike Elko hosted a long list of 2025, 2026, and even a few 2027 prospects amid spring practices, looking to make significant headway this offseason.

Focusing on the 2025 recruiting class, April will include several visitors ahead of the Aggies’ Maroon & White Spring Game on Saturday, April 20. Next week, Elko and his staff will reportedly host 2025 4-star linebacker Christian Jones out of Westside, Nebraska.

According to Rivals’ Adam Gorney, Jones is set to take three visits next week, starting with Tennessee on Wednesday, Texas A&M on Thursday, and USC on Saturday. After attending the Aggies summer camp last summer under former head coach Jimbo Fisher, Jones received an offer from the program during his visit on June 15.

A rising defensive prospect, Jones is currently positioned as the 56th-ranked prospect in the 2025 class, the No. 1-ranked prospect in Nebraska, and the 6th-ranked linebacker prospect in the country, according to Rivals.

Standing at 6-3 and 220 pounds, Jones’ experience at receiver has helped his ascendance at the linebacker spot. His pursuit speed and ability in coverage have made him a plug-and-play defender at the next level.

2025 4-Star RB and Texas A&M recruiting target has committed to SEC rival

On Saturday afternoon, 2025 4-star running back Akylin Dear surprisingly announced his commitment to Ole Miss.

Well, that was quick. Just a day after it was announced that 2025 4-star running back Akylin Dear is scheduled to visit Texas A&M in June, the Mississippi native has committed to Ole Miss as of Saturday afternoon.

Does this impact the Aggies’ chances? Less than you may think, as most early commitments are usually pending until the final months, giving Mike Elko and his staff plenty of opportunity to make their pitch, starting this summer.

Dear’s hard-nosed running style, paired with his impressive speed and cutting ability, are just some of the many reasons why he’s one of the top prospects in the country. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin knows that keeping him in-state is a must.

Listed at 6-1 and just over 200 pounds, Dear was lights out during his 2023 junior season at Quitman HS, the focal point on offense, accumulating 2,016 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns on the year, including three touchdown passes.

According to 247Sports Composite, Dear is currently positioned as the 32nd-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle, the 2nd-ranked running back, and the 2nd-ranked prospect in Mississippi.

2025 5-Star OL of out Lewisville (TX) has arrived at Texas A&M

2025 5-star OL Michael Fasusi has arrived for his visit to Texas A&M

This weekend, Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko and his impressive staff are hosting several key 2025 prospects, including five-star offensive lineman Michael Fasusi, who confirmed via X that he has arrived at College Station as of Saturday morning.

While plenty of talent at every position group in the 2025 cycle will be represented on campus, Fasusi is a rare athlete in trenches with immediate starting potential as soon as his first collegiate season. Standing at 6-4 and nearly 300 pounds, Fasusi has experience at both left and right tackle while excelling as a run blocker at the earlier stages of his career.

Playing in a run-heavy offense at Lewisville HS, Fasusi’s pass protection skill set needs work, but his elite athletic traits should speed up that process. This will be his second consecutive visit to Texas A&M since last weekend, while his official visit to CSTAT is scheduled for June 6.

According to 247Sports Composite, Fasusi is currently positioned as the 11th-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle, the second-ranked offensive tackle, and the third-ranked prospect in Texas. With nearly 40 offers already, it looks as if Fasusi is down to choosing between Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.

2025 4-star WR out of Fulshear (TX) will visit Texas A&M this weekend

2025 4-star WR Andrew Marsh will reportedly join a long list of 2025 prospects visiting Texas A&M this weekend

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is respectable, with four commits, including several four-star defenders. Four-star running back Deondrae “Tiger” Riden is the most recent commit, carrying a ton of potential for the Aggies’ new coaching regime.

This weekend, Elko and his staff are set to host a long list of 2025 prospects, which could lead to one or more potential commitments if things go as planned. According to Rivals’ Landyn Rosow, Aggie legacy and four-star wide receiver Andrew Marsh will join that visitors list this weekend.

It’s no secret that A&M is determined to keep Marsh in the family. After taking an unofficial visit to College Station back in January, the feeling is mutual; recently, Marsh expressed his admiration for Mike Elko’s attention to detail in an interview with On3:

ā€œGetting to talk to both of those guys just impressed me more by the type of people they are and what they have planned for the program,ā€ Marsh stated to On3.ā€œThe biggest thing I could see was just the attention to detail and the way they are just way more approachable and easier to talk to. My biggest takeaway from the visit was that they plan to come in and make some big changes for the good of Texas A&M football.ā€

On the field, Marsh has improved every season. He has already recorded 2,414 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns in three varsity seasons whileĀ coming off his most productive season yet, netting 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns through the air.

Standing at a solid 6-1 and 173 pounds, Marsh possesses the game-breaking speed, soft hands, and impressive catch radius needed to excel at the next level. The fact that former Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher was late to the game in terms of offering Marsh was just another indictment on his lack of insight regarding Aggie legacies in recruiting.

According to 247Sports Composite, Andrew Marsh is currently ranked as the 61st-ranked player in the 2025 cycle, the 12th-ranked player in Texas, and the 8th-ranked wide receiver.

2025 4-star RB out of Quitman (MS) will take a official visit to Texas A&M in June

2025 4-star RB Akylin Dear will take an official visit to Texas A&M on Friday, June 21

Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko has received some good news regarding one of the top running backs in the 2025 recruiting class four-star RB Akylin Dear out of Quitman, Mississippi. He will reportedly take his first official visit to College Station on Friday, June 21.

First reported by On3’s Chad Simmons, Dear has not visited Texas A&M since receiving his offer from Elko despite landing in his Top 12 program list. Earlier this month, Dear announced that he would be taking a campus visit on June 21-23, now confirming that it will be in an official capacity.

Dear has already formed a solid relationship with new Texas A&M RB coach Trooper Taylor, one of the top recruiters and developers in the country, as Dear’s skill set, combined with his tenacious work ethic, fits what Mike Elko and his offensive staff are looking for in a future 3-down back.

Akylin Dear is listed at 6-1 and just over 200 pounds. On the field, he possesses sprinter speed, impressive vision, and footwork once he makes his initial cut upfield. During his 2023 junior season at Quitman HS, Dear was the focal point on offense, accumulating 2,016 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns on the year, including three touchdown passes.

According to 247Sports Composite, Dear is currently positioned as the 32nd-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle, the 2nd-ranked running back, and the 2nd-ranked prospect in Mississippi.

One of Oregon Football’s recent 2025 de-commits is back on the Aggies’ radar

Texas A&M is still in the mix for 2025 4-star WR Adrian Wilson

In today’s rapidly changing college football recruiting landscape, a prospect could be committed to a program for less than two months before changing his mind. Honestly, this is just the reality of recruiting in 2024 and beyond.

Concerning Texas A&M, head coach Mike Elko is hard at work as spring practices are underway, while he and his staff are set to host a long list of 2025 prospects, including 5-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi this coming weekend.

However, for those who missed the news, 2025 4-star wide receiver Adrian Wilson has de-committed from Oregon after committing to the program late last summer, and according to AggiesToday, expect A&M to be back in the fold.

It is unknown why Wilson decided to de-commit from the Ducks amid spring practices, but without a WR commit in the Aggies’ 2025 recruiting class, this could be a huge win for Elko’s first full class in his coaching tenure.

Coming off his impressive 2023 junior season, Wilson went over 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career, recording 1,003 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns on the year, possessing the speed, route running, and run-after-catch ability needed to thrive at the next level.

According to 247Sports Composite, Wilson is currently positioned as the 116th-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle, the 15th-ranked wide receiver and the 19th-ranked prospect in Texas.

‘Conner’s going to go into the spring as the number one’ HC Mike Elko appears on the Paul Finebaum Show

Aggies head coach Mike Elko provides an update on QB Conner Weigman’s injury recovery

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko, who established himself as a favorite among the fan base even before coaching his first game with the program, has made the media rounds during the A&M’s spring practice period, which officially began late last week.

While the roster as a whole, which is filled with blue-chip talent at every level, will continue to create multiple storylines this offseason, incoming redshirt sophomore starting quarterback Conner Weigman’s injury recovery after missing eight games during the 2023 season is under the microscope once again.

On Monday, during an interview with Paul Finebaum on the SEC Network, Elko expanded on the talent of the Aggie’s quarterback room while providing a straightforward update on Weigman’s injury progression:

ā€œConnor’s going to go into the spring as the number one, and I think everyone’s aware of that,” Elko said. “Like everthing, you want competition and competition within your program.”

In terms of how he’s working through the everyday practice-related tasks, Elko expanded on the level of intensity that Weigman can take on during the early portion of the spring period:

“He’ll be able to work efficiently as a pocket passer. I don’t know how well he’ll be able to truly run around yet,” Elko stated. “He still hasn’t quite been fully out there doing agility work and those types of things. It’s important for us to get him out there and get him integrated in the system.ā€

Regarding the options behind Conner Weigman, senior Jaylen Henderson, and sophomore Marcel Reed are about as good as backup security.

“You have two quarterbacks who filled in and had some very succesful moments, as Jaylen Henderson on the backend of the year had a great game against Mississippi State. Jaylen wound up getting hurt on the first series of the bowl game, and Marcel Reed, as a true freshman steps in and throws for over 370 yards in the bowl game.”

Right now, nothing on the injury front has changed outside of the already known players who will miss spring as they continue to recover, including offensive linemen Kam Dewberry and Aki Ogunbiyi, defensive ends Shemar Turner and Enai White, and tight end Donovan Green, who missed the entire 2023 season due to an ACL tear.

For Conner Weigman, slow and steady wins the race, and a full recovery should be the only thing on his mind. Texas A&M’s annual Maroon & White Spring Game will take place on Saturday, April 20.

Texas A&M has offered former Indiana DL from the transfer portal

Texas A&M has offered former Indiana defensive lineman Philip Blidi from the transfer portal

The transfer portal consistently gives and takes year after year, and with the spring portal window set to open on April 15 (at least, officially), plenty of veteran talent will be there for the taking.

Regarding Texas A&M, it has been reported that head coach Mike Elko has offered former Indiana defensive lineman Philip Blidi, looking to add more depth in the defensive interior, as the incoming 5th-year senior recorded a career-high 30 tackles during the 2023 season.

The Aggies’ roster, which currently has 89 players, will need to be reduced to the 85 roster limit. Fourteen of those players are on the defensive line, led by senior defensive tackle Shemar Turner and former Purdue Edge Nic Scourton, who led the Big 10 in sacks during his 2023 freshman campaign.

However, after several departures to the portal, including former 5-star defensive tackle Walter Nolen, more depth and size in the middle of the line is needed if the Aggies want to withstand attrition or any potential future injuries.

A former 3-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, Blidi played three seasons at Texas Texas before transferring to Indiana during the 2023 season.
