McKinney on the fight’s key moment

“I knew he was going to be a little bit nervous, so we wanted to take advantage of that – be in his face, get him nervous and get him to start swinging big. I was able to find a counter right hand, and that was the end of the fight. He started shooting, and we just took advantage from there.”

McKinney on staying calm and confident

“I’m just humbling myself, listening to my coaches, trusting my teammates, trusting everyone around me, and most importantly, just staying humble and know that this is not my doing.”

McKinney on what he wants next

“I want two more victories (in 2025) and a shot at the top 15, where I know I can be, and most importantly just being a man my kids can look up to, and loving my wife and stop being a slut and really just buckle down and start being a champion on and off the mat.”

UFC Saudi Arabia: Terrance McKinney now has 6 UFC first-round finishes – and 0 bonuses

The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday’s card, but once again passed over a fighter who always finishes his wins.

The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday’s card, but once again passed over a fighter who always finishes his wins.

Left off the list was [autotag]Terrance McKinney[/autotag], who had a first-round TKO of Damir Hadzovic on the prelims for his 12th straight first-round finish in his wins. Six of those have come in the UFC, including one in 7 seconds and one in 20 seconds – yet none of them, including Saturday’s finish, have been worthy of an official post-fight bonus.

After UFC Fight Night 250, four fighters picked up an extra $50,000 for their performances in Saudi Arabia. Check out the UFC Saudi Arabia winners below.

But in the second, he took over and late in the round, in full mount, pounded Alexander out. Then he said now that his UFC debut is in the books, he will be a problem for the featherweight division.

Performance of the Night: Nassourdine Imavov

Nassourdine Imavov def. Israel Adesanya via knockout (punches) – Round 2, 0:30

UFC Fight Night 250 video: Terrance McKinney overwhelms Damir Hadzovic for quick TKO

Terrance McKinney has 16 career wins and 15 first-round finishes after dispatching of Damir Hadzovic at UFC Saudi Arabia.

[autotag]Terrance McKinney[/autotag] showed once again that his first wave of offence is tough to deal with when he put [autotag]Damir Hadzovic[/autotag] away early at UFC Fight Night 250.

It was short work for McKinney (16-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC) in the lightweight bout at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He stung Hadzovic (14-8 MMA, 4-6 UFC) with the hands early and forced his opponent to try to grapple. “T-Rex” countered with a guillotine attempt, which led to a reversal into top mount where he unleashed elbows and punches until the referee stepped in at the 2:01 mark of Round 1.

Check out the replay of McKinney’s handiwork below (via X):

With the win, McKinney kept his 100 percent career stoppage rate in tact. He has earned all 15 of his victories inside the first round (including all six in the UFC), and after changing camps prior to this performance, the 30-year-old said he hopes this is the start of meeting his full potential.

“I took a change, moved to Orlando, Florida, and you guys see me reap the blessings of my hard work,” McKinney said in his post-fight interview with Paul Felder. “I’d like to fight Chris Duncan next. Baby, let’s get it.”

UFC on ESPN 56 video: Esteban Ribovics head kick knockout seats Terrance McKinney against fence

Shades of Kevin Lee vs. Gregor Gillespie transpired at UFC on ESPN 56, as Esteban Ribovics made Terrance McKinney take a seat.

UFC on ESPN 56 was a decision-heavy affair until [autotag]Esteban Ribovics[/autotag] showed up.

On the prelims at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Ribovics (13-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) knocked out [autotag]Terrance McKinney[/autotag] (15-7 MMA, 5-4 UFC) with a heavy right high kick. The stoppage came 37 seconds into the first round.

[lawrence-related id=2739754]

For as short as it was, the fight was wild from the opening bell. Ribovics nearly caught McKinney with a knee in a previous exchange. The kick did the trick, however, as McKinney was sent into a seated position against the fence, reminiscent of Kevin Lee’s all-time knockout of Gregor Gillespie.

With the win, Ribovics extends his winning streak to two after a debut loss to Loik Radzhabov. On the flip side, McKinney has his two-fight winning streak snapped.

“T-Wrecks” Terrance McKinney has his next UFC test: up-and-coming Argentine Esteban Ribovics.

UFC fan-favorite [autotag]Terrance McKinney[/autotag] is back, but will have a hungry Argentine up-and-comer waiting in the wings for him in his return.

McKinney (15-6 MMA, 5-3 UFC) will face [autotag]Esteban Ribovics[/autotag] (12-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at a UFC Fight Night event May 11. The card does not currently have a known location or venue.

Two people including McKinney’s manager Oren Hodak, of KO Reps, confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Monday after an initial report by ESPN Knockout commentator Gaston Reyno.

McKinney, 29, has won back-to-back fights by first-round knockout. He finished Mike Breeden in 85 seconds in August before a 20-second pummeling of Brendon Marotte in October.

Ribovics, 27, signed with the UFC after an impressive first-round TKO of Thomas Paull on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022. Ribovics lost his promotional debut to Loik Radzhabov by unanimous decision. He picked up his first UFC victory in July when he defeated Kamuela Kirk by unanimous decision.

With the addition, the UFC Fight Night lineup for May 11 includes:

  • Jake Hadley vs. Charles Johnson
  • Terrance McKinney vs. Esteban Ribovics
