Fantasy football: Where to draft Tennessee Titans WR Robert Woods

Analyzing Tennessee Titans WR Robert Woods’ 2022 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

Wide receiver Robert Woods is back in action after his recovery from a torn ACL, but with his return comes the start of a new chapter in his NFL career.

He will join the Tennessee Titans after a 5-season stint with the Los Angeles Rams. Woods spent 4 seasons with the Buffalo Bills prior to joining the Super Bowl-winning Rams.

Below, we look at Robert Woods‘ 2022 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Woods only got 9 games in during the 2021 season before his injury occurred. Hopefully, the 2022 season holds redemption for what could be the Titans’ best receiver.

Robert Woods’ ADP: 104.02

Woods has an ADP of 104.02 in redraft leagues, which puts him in the late 9th round of the draft. His ADP is the highest of all teammates on the Tennessee Titans outside of RB Derrick Henry (5.64).

Among wide receivers, Woods’ ADP puts him 42nd at the position, behind the likes of Drake London (Atlanta Falcons) and DeVonta Smith (Philadelphia Eagles) and slightly ahead of Chase Claypool (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Chris Olave (New Orleans Saints).

Where should you draft Woods?

Woods’ fantasy value has taken a beating the last few seasons. With 2 straight 1,000-yard seasons in which he saw at least 130 targets, Woods has struggled these last few years.

Part of that can be attributed to injury, but with Woods now 30, there’s no telling if that injury history will continue. Woods is also now in a run-heavy offense that just drafted an exciting receiver in Treylon Burks.

With WR Julio Jones and A.J. Brown both gone, Burks and Woods are expected to fill that void. Prior to injuries setting in, Brown did have success in the Ryan Tannehill-led offense.

I expect Woods to have similar success, and he should have a relatively low floor as the WR1 in Tennessee. His ADP is relatively solid here, and I would even drop him down a tier under high-risk prospects like Olave.

Feel free to take a flier on him in the late 9th round, especially given his upside in PPR as a main target for Tannehill.

Fantasy football: Where to draft Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill

Analyzing Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill’s 2022 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

In a way, you have to feel a little sorry for Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Over the last 18 months, he has seen his top 2 receivers leave with the approval of the organization — Corey Davis in free agency and A.J. Brown via trade. As a result, Tannehill is ranked as the 20th fantasy quarterback at the very bottom of quarterbacks that will be drafted in 10-player leagues.

Below, we look at Ryan Tannehill‘s 2022 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

The loss of his supporting cast on a team that ideally wants to run as much or more as it passes is a blow because Tannehill has quietly been a fantasy keeper. In 2020, he accounted for 40 total touchdowns, which dropped to 28 last year. However, he has scored 18 touchdowns in 3 seasons in Tennessee and, as those with Derrick Henry on their rosters can sadly remember with crystal clarity, Tannehill has 7 rushing touchdowns in each of the last 2 seasons.

Ryan Tannehill’s ADP: 137.31

(ADP data courtesy of MyFantasyLeague.com; last updated at time of this publishing – ADPs continually change as more drafts occur)

When you get to the end of a draft and your filling in the last spot at a position, there can be a tendency to checker-jump your own draft list to take somebody you think has more upside. As such, anybody at the end of the line (QB20 qualifies under that definition) has no guarantee of being drafted and will linger on the waiver wire.

As is currently stands, Tannehill’s ADP finds him behind Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars) at 131.14 and Justin Fields (Chicago Bears) at 137.10 and ahead of Mac Jones (New England Patriots) at 138.10 and Jameis Winston (New Orleans Saints) at 138.56.

Where should you draft Tannehill?

Given the losses he has sustained over the last 2 years — rookie Treylon Brooks and injured veteran Robert Woods are kind of a hard sell to replace what Brown and Davis did for the offense 2 years ago — there isn’t a lot to love about Tannehill.

That being said, he has a career record of 30-13 in 43 games as a Titans starter. He wins games, which doesn’t lend itself to the “garbage points” quarterbacks on teams with awful defenses find themselves piling up on a regular 4th-quarter basis.

In many leagues, the likelihood is that Tannehill will be available for waiver pickups when injuries start taking out quarterbacks. I would have Winston rated ahead of him because of the dearth of talent he has to throw to by comparison, but he will end up on a roster somewhere, because the guy finds ways to win games and isn’t always because of Henry.
