TBS’s score bug for Yankees-Guardians is driving fans crazy with second base graphic

MLB fans are mad.

Score bugs — that little thing on your broadcast that tells you the score, the time left, outs, etc. — can be useful, but then sometimes, they can drive you nuts.

That’s what’s happened during the MLB playoffs for TBS. When they’re showing the bases empty on their graphic, second base looks illuminated in a way that’s confusing fans, even though when a man is on, the score bug’s base is colored yellow.

Even though that’s the case, there have been A LOT of complaints, as you’ll see below. Here’s a roundup of what we’ve seen on X (formerly Twitter) as the ALCS continues:

TBS malfunctioned for the start of Tigers-Guardians Game 2 and MLB fans couldn’t believe it

Where’s the game?!

Imagine being a fan of the Detroit Tigers and waiting 10 years to see your team make it back to the postseason just to tune in for the start of Game 2 of the ALDS and see static on the screen.

That was the experience for fans late Monday afternoon, as the Tigers at Cleveland Guardians game got underway but the TBS broadcast didn’t. Major League Baseball at least live-streamed the top of the first inning on X (formerly Twitter) while TBS got its act together, but not before fans swarmed social media to confirm it was the broadcast and not a personal problem.

And once confirmed, the reaction was a mix of disappointment and jokes.
