Colts’ T.Y. Hilton ends 14-game TD drought vs. Titans

The Ghost finally found the end zone.

The Indianapolis Colts (7-4) weren’t able to come away with a win at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, dropping a divisional game against the Tennessee Titans (8-3) by a score of 45-26.

While there weren’t many positives to take away from the game, there was some encouraging play from wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, who ended his 14-game touchdown drought in the loss.

“We couldn’t get going in the second half. I mean they did some things that got us out of rhythm,” Hilton said after the game. “I did the most I could do with my opportunities. We just have to find a way to get us going more. It is what it is.”

Hilton hasn’t been as big of a factor in the passing game as we expected him to be. With defenses rolling their coverage toward him every week, Philip Rivers has simply looked the other way and found an open target elsewhere rather than force-feeding his top target.

But Hilton had a strong day on Sunday. He again drew a defensive pass interference call in the end zone. That led to a touchdown in the first quarter. He’s been seeing a lot of unrealized yardage and scores due to penalties this season.

But he finally had a day worth talking about. Late in the game, Hilton had a long 50-yard catch down the middle of the field. Just a few plays later, he came down with a five-yard touchdown catch. It was his first since Week 7 of the 2019 season, and his 81 receiving yards on the day were the highest he’s had all season.

The Colts have some big matchups coming up as they look to make their playoff push, and hopefully this can be the bump he needs to finish the season strong.

5 takeaways from the Colts’ 45-26 loss to Titans

Takeaways from the Week 12 loss.

The Indianapolis Colts (7-4) were dominated at home, 45-26, against the Tennessee Titans (8-3) in Week 12, giving up the top spot in the AFC South.

Without several starters on both sides of the ball and then losing left tackle Anthony Castonzo early really hurt the Colts. They were keeping pace in the first half before Castonzo’s injury but fell apart after he left and didn’t return.

Here are five takeaways from the Week 12 loss:

Studs and Duds from the Week 12 loss.

The Indianapolis Colts (7-4) were dominated from the start by the Tennessee Titans (8-3) en route to a 45-26 loss at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

By the time the first half was over, the Colts were facing a seemingly insurmountable deficit. The Titans rode Derrick Henry to a halftime lead of 35-14 and even though the defense showed some life in the second half, it wasn’t enough to come away with a win.

Colts’ final injury report vs. Titans in Week 10

The final injury report for the Colts this week.

The Indianapolis Colts (5-3) released their final injury report with designations ahead of the Thursday night matchup with the Tennessee Titans (6-2) at Nissan Stadium.

The Colts placed linebacker Matthew Adams on the reserve/COVID-19 list so he won’t have an injury designation going into the prime-time game. It also seems like the Colts will get wide receiver T.Y. Hilton back after he missed Week 9.

Here’s a look at the final injury report for the Colts in Week 10:

*DNP = Did Not Participate — LP = Limited Participant — FP = Full Participant*

Name Position Injury Mon. Tue. Wed. Status
Matthew Adams LB Not Injury Related DNP DNP
Mo Alie-Cox TE Knee DNP LP FP Quest.
Jack Doyle TE Concussion DNP DNP DNP OUT
T.Y. Hilton WR Groin FP FP FP

Alie-Cox will be listed as questionable but given that he would have been a full participant, he is likely to suit up. Doyle will miss the game as expected in hopes he can clear the concussion protocol for the Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Colts will release their inactives list an hour and a half before the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff on Thursday night.

Colts’ injury report: WR T.Y. Hilton again estimated as full participant

Tuesday’s injury report.

The Indianapolis Colts (5-3) held another walkthrough on Tuesday as they prepare for the Week 10 prime-time matchup with the Tennessee Titans (6-2) on Thursday night at Nissan Stadium.

Because the Colts held another walkthrough rather than an actual practice, the injury report is only an estimation of what a player’s status would have been if they practiced.

Here’s a look at the injury report following Tuesday’s walkthrough:

*DNP = Did Not Participate — LP = Limited Participant — FP = Full Participant*

Name Position Injury Mon. Tue. Wed. Status
Matthew Adams LB Not Injury Related DNP DNP
Mo Alie-Cox TE Knee DNP LP
Jack Doyle TE Concussion DNP DNP
T.Y. Hilton WR Groin FP FP

This is encouraging news for Hilton, who is again listed as an estimated full participant. Alie-Cox also would have returned to practice, which is expected given how the Colts have handled his lingering knee injury.

The Colts will release the final injury report with designations on Wednesday, which will give a much clearer picture of the statuses of these four players.

Colts vs. Titans: 6 things to know entering Week 10

Things to know entering Week 10.

The Indianapolis Colts (5-3) are headed to Nissan Stadium for a primetime matchup against the division-leading Tennessee Titans (6-2) on Thursday night.

As the second half of the season gets underway, the Colts are entering the toughest part of their schedule. They are coming off of a loss against the Baltimore Ravens and are playing the Titans and Packers over the next three weeks. Suffice it to say, this is a big month for Indy.

Here are six things to know entering the Week 10 matchup:

Colts’ injury report: WR T.Y. Hilton estimated as a full participant

Injury report for Monday’s walkthrough.

The Indianapolis Colts (5-3) released their first injury report of the week on Monday ahead of the Week 10 road matchup with the Tennessee Titans (6-2) at Nissan Stadium.

Because the Colts are turning around on a short week for the Thursday night game, Monday was simply a walkthrough. Thus, the injury report is only an estimation of what the following players would have been listed as.

Here’s a look at Monday’s injury report:

*DNP = Did Not Participate — LP = Limited Participant — FP = Full Participant*

Name Position Injury Mon. Tue. Wed. Status
Matthew Adams LB Not Injury Related DNP
Mo Alie-Cox TE Knee DNP
Jack Doyle TE Concussion DNP
T.Y. Hilton WR Groin FP

This is encouraging news for Hilton, who was inactive for the Week 9 game against the Ravens. He would have been a full participant on Monday had the Colts practiced, which means he should be on track to play Thursday night. His status should still be monitored throughout the week.

Doyle is in the league’s concussion protocol and is unlikely to play on Thursday night while Alie-Cox has been dealing with a knee injury for weeks now.

Ravens vs. Colts inactives: RB Mark Ingram, WR T.Y. Hilton out for Week 9

The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts each have a top offensive performer out of Sunday’s Week 9 tilt due to injuries.

The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts will take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium today without some of their biggest players. With the teams releasing the inactive list for Week 9’s game, both the Colts and Ravens made what had been an expectation, a reality.

Baltimore running back Mark Ingram will not play Sunday. He suffered an ankle injury that held him out of last week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and all of this week’s practices. In his stead will be Gus Edwards and rookie J.K. Dobbins, who combined for 200 rushing yards and a rushing score last week against the Steelers’ vaunted defense.

Potentially much more damaging is the loss of wide receiver T.Y. Hilton for the Colts. Hilton is the team’s top wide receiver in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. For quarterback Philip Rivers, who was signed this offseason after 16 years with the Chargers, losing his top target could make the Pro Bowl quarterback uncomfortable early against the Ravens’ aggressive and ball-hawking defense.

Take a look at the full list of inactive players for both the Ravens and Colts in Week 9.

Colts vs. Ravens: Inactive players for Week 9

Inactives for the Colts and Ravens.

The Indianapolis Colts (5-2) and Baltimore Ravens (5-2) have released their inactive players’ list ahead of the Week 9 matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

The Colts already ruled out wide receiver Ashton Dulin, who was placed on the injured reserve list on Saturday. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton was also listed as doubtful on the final injury report while tight end Mo Alie-Cox and wide receiver Marcus Johnson were both listed as questionable.

Here are the inactive players for the Colts in Week 9:

Name Position Injury
T.Y. Hilton WR Groin
Dezmon Patmon WR
Ron’Dell Carter DT
Noah Togiai TE
Jacob Eason QB
Ben Banogu DE
Tavon Wilson S

Hilton is officially inactive while Johnson and Alie-Cox are active. There is a bit of a surprise with Wilson and Banogu being healthy scratches for Sunday’s game.

Here’s a look at the inactives for the Ravens in Week 9:

Name Position Injury
Mark Ingram RB Ankle
Trace McSorely QB
L.J. Fort LB
Jihad Ward DE
Broderick Washington DT

Ravens vs. Colts injury report: Devin Duvernay and Jimmy Smith questionable

The Baltimore Ravens had a few concerning injuries pop up at the end of the week, potentially putting more pressure on the beat-up team

The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts are still scheduled to play Sunday, despite their respective positive COVID-19 tests. But outside of the virus, both Baltimore and Indianapolis look to be in pretty good shape for Week 9’s tilt.

The Ravens see two players listed as doubtful with two questionable as well. Among the bigger names on the list are running back Mark Ingram, wide receiver Devin Duvernay, and cornerback Jimmy Smith. Ingram was already expected to sit out this game with an ankle injury after being inactive last week. However, with Marlon Humphrey already out and Terrell Bonds on the Reserve/COVID-19 list for the time being, Smith’s questionable status is far more alarming.

For the Colts, top wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is doubtful after not practicing at all this week. Against Baltimore’s very aggressive and opportunistic defense, quarterback Philip Rivers is already going to have to be at the top of his game to win this week. If Hilton isn’t able to go, that doesn’t bode well for Rivers and Indianapolis’ offense.
