Fan mocks ESPN’s tragedy-focused coverage with superhero NFL Draft graphics

Amazing work.

Much of what ESPN accomplished with its production and airing of the 2020 NFL Draft was extremely impressive. That can’t be overlooked.

The network and the NFL teamed up to hold a draft remotely, and the three-day draft went smoothly with minimal (if that) technical issues.

But fans did reasonably take issue with how ESPN covered many of the draft prospects. There was an odd focus on personal tragedy.

As each team made their picks, ESPN would display a profile graphic for that player. It would include football-related accomplishments and then — out of nowhere — a traumatic experience or a personal loss would get mentioned. It happened over and over again throughout the three days.

So, one Twitter user set out to answer what ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage would have looked like for superheroes — from both Marvel and DC universes. And, well, the results were epic.

Given what we witnessed the past few days, that thread was too accurate.

Well done.
