FOX to re-air Giants’ upset of Patriots in Super Bowl XLII on Sunday

FOX will re-air Super Bowl XLII between the New York Giants and New England Patriots on April 12, but it will come with a twist.

Starved for a little football on Sundays with the entire sports world shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic? Well, you’re in luck because FOX is going to re-air Super Bowl XLII between the New York Giants and New England Patriots on Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m. ET.

However, this program will come with a bit of the twist as the Giants plan to optimize the re-telling their legendary accomplishment with a two-screen experience and a ton of behind-the-scenes information and footage.

To help amplify what John Mara calls “the greatest victory we ever had as a franchise,” the Giants are launching a special second-screen platform delivered by FedEx to help fans more closely experience the Super Bowl re-air. Fans are encouraged to follow @Giants on Twitter throughout the weekend for rare behind-the-scenes footage, including a closer look at Tyree’s forgettable Friday practice, Tom Coughlin’s speech to the team the night before the game and an inside perspective during several key moments, including the final game-winning drive.

Additionally, real-time analysis of the game will be provided by the players who were on the field, there will be a live post-game Q&A on Twitter and the team will run a giveaway featuring a David Tyree signed football.

Still need more? Giants Wire will be live-tweeting the game and providing both pre- and post-game articles with unique stories or advanced analytical features that were more uncommon at the time.

What is Tom Brady’s sweet, clever message to retiring Eli Manning?

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady offered a fun, sweet message to Eli Manning, who has retired.

Eli Manning and Tom Brady have history … Super Bowl history. The retiring New York Giants quarterback got the best of the New England Patriots’ signal-caller twice. So what was the G.O.A.T.’s message to Manning as he steps away from football after 16 seasons?

Check this clever tweet:

Brady’s Patriots and Manning’s Giants dueled in Super Bowls XLII and XLVI, with Big Blue winning both games, 17-14, and 21-17, respectively. Manning threw for 551 yards and three TDs combined to Brady’s 542 and three TDs.

Brady, meanwhile will head to free agency. Oh, the Giants have hired Joe Judge, the Patriots’ former special teams coordinator/wide receivers’ coach. Could Big Blue, which has 2019 No. 1 draft pick and sixth overall, Daniel Jones, be in the market for a veteran QB?

… Nah!
