Twitter wasn’t shy in reacting to the Super Bowl LVIII victory speeches from #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce.

The Kansas City Chiefs earned their Super Bowl LVIII title after completing a second-half comeback against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday night.

In a game that was an absolute thriller in all four quarters, the Chiefs relied on Patrick Mahomes to deliver a touchdown drive in overtime to win Kansas City its second-straight Super Bowl.

Mahomes gave an outstanding victory speech at the matchup’s conclusion that was followed by passionate comments from star tight end Travis Kelce that laid the Chiefs’ exuberance bare on national television.

Christian McCaffrey, Steve Wilks, 49ers fall short in classic Super Bowl

Former Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey and coach Steve Wilks did all they could to bring the 49ers their first ring in 30 years. But it wasn’t enough.

Christian McCaffrey and Steve Wilks were on the doorstep of bringing the Bay Area their first Lombardi Trophy in 30 years. But unfortunately for them and the rest of the San Francisco 49ers, a GOAT was standing in their way.

Despite their valiant efforts, the former Carolina Panthers running back and interim head coach were denied on the biggest stage of the game Sunday night—as the Kansas City Chiefs notched a thrilling 25-22 overtime win in Super Bowl LVIII.

McCaffrey, who spent the better part of his first six NFL seasons in Carolina, tallied a game-high 160 yards from scrimmage. The 2023 AP Offensive Player of the Year recorded 80 yards on 22 rushes along with another 80 yards and a score on eight catches.

Wilks, a Charlotte, N.C. native, managed to hold down the Kansas City offense for much of the tightly-contested matchup—as the Chiefs entered the break with only three points. But, as we’ve learned for the third time in five years, there’s no holding down Patrick Mahomes.

The newly-crowned three-time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player led a game-winning 13-play, 75-yard drive in overtime—a walk-off possession that ended in a 3-yard touchdown pass to wideout Mecole Hardman. Mahomes finished the night having completed 34 of his 46 throws for 333 yards, two scores and an interception.

But hey, at least a few other old friends were on the winning side—including kicker Harrison Butker, whose 57-yard field goal in the third quarter set a new Super Bowl record. The Chiefs have also carried former Panthers receiver Shi Smith and cornerback Keith Taylor on their practice squad.

Of course it was Mecole Hardman who caught the Super Bowl-winning touchdown. Who else would it be?

The New York Jets couldn’t get anything out of wide receiver Mecole Hardman when he signed as a free agent this past offseason. The Jets gave Hardman a $4 million contract…to catch one pass in five regular-season games in New York.

The Jets traded Hardman to the Kansas City Chiefs in October and while he did have some big plays here and there, he still wasn’t making a huge impact for Kansas City. Hardman had just two catches in three playoff games, including a shutout in the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens.

So of course, of all people, it was Hardman who caught the Super Bowl-winning touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes in what became the longest Super Bowl ever, ending three seconds shy of 75 minutes of game time.

Hardman finished with three catches for 57 yards and the winning score as the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime to win their second straight Super Bowl and third out of five.

“I blacked out when I caught the ball,” Hardman told Jim Nantz during the trophy presentation.

It’s now a catch he will never forget. Mecole Hardman is, once again, a Super Bowl-winning receiver. But this time, he played a major part, if not the biggest part, in the Lombardi Trophy staying at Arrowhead Stadium.

The first Super Bowl game under the new postseason overtime rules format didn’t disappoint, as Kansas City took care of business with a resilient comeback victory. Patrick Mahomes has cemented himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history with another come-from-behind victory in the big game.

The touchdown reception from wide receiver Mecole Hardman was precisely why he was reacquired midseason after a short tenure with the New York Jets, showing his worth in the offense while Travis Kelce led the charge as the team’s most productive option.

Head coach Andy Reid adds to his legacy as one of the greatest coaches in NFL history, and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has separated himself as a defensive mastermind. The Kansas City Chiefs clinched a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII after an unbelievable touchdown drive in overtime that secured them their second consecutive championship.

The hotly contested matchup was exciting in all four quarters and came down to Kansas City’s final possession. Patrick Mahomes drove the Chiefs downfield after Kansas City’s defense held San Francisco to a field goal on the first possession of overtime, and found wide receiver Mecole Hardman on a pretty touchdown pass that proved to be the knockout blow.

Fans across the country exploded on Twitter after the Chiefs’ momentous win, reacting to the otherworldly effort that secured Kansas City its second-straight Super Bowl win.

This game was one for the ages, and won’t soon be forgotten by anyone who watched history made on the field at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chiefs go back-to-back with 25-22 overtime win over 49ers in Super Bowl 58

Through three quarters it was a defensive game between the Chiefs and 49ers. Then the offenses started to come alive, sending the game to overtime tied at 19-19.

It was the 49ers who jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the second quarter. They lost that lead in the third quarter, but took it back with a touchdown from Brock Purdy to Jauan Jennings to go up 16-13. But Jake Moody’s extra point was low and blocked to keep it a three-point game.

That allowed the Chiefs to tie it up with a field goal. The 49ers re-took the lead at 19-16 with under two minutes left, but the Chiefs again turned around and drove for a field goal to tie it up.

The 49ers drove first for a field goal to make it a 22-19 game. Then the Chiefs took over and drove all the way down the field for the touchdown to win 25-22.

The game winner was a three-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes to Mecole Hardman.

With the win, the Chiefs defend their Lombardi to go back-to-back. It was the Chiefs’ fourth Super Bowl win in franchise history and their third in five years.

The first in that run also was a come-from-behind win over ther 49ers.

This win breaks a three-way tie atop the AFC West in Super Bowl wins between the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos. The Chiefs hole sole possession of the most Lombardi trophies in the division.

It was also the Chiefs’ fifth win in five games at Allegiant Stadium, having never lost to the Raiders there since they moved to Las Vegas prior to the 2019 season,

Twitter went wild after Harrison Butker’s record-setting field goal in Super Bowl LVIII.

The Kansas City Chiefs cut the San Francisco 49ers’ lead to four points on a record-setting field goal by kicker Harrison Butker in the third quarter of Super Bowl LVIII.

The 57-yard make eclipsed the record set earlier in the game by 49ers kicker Jake Moody, whose aim was true from 55 yards to set the initial record.

Butker has been among the league’s most accurate kickers this season and added to his exceptional rĂ©sumĂ© with this outstanding score.

Fans reacted to the unbelievable kick on Twitter, giving Butker credit for his amazing accuracy and pointing out that the ball was nearly tipped by San Francisco’s defensive line.

The five-time NFL MVP made an appearance during the Big Game on Sunday in Bud Light’s “Easy Night Out” commercial that introduced football fans to “The Bud Light Genie.”

“The Super Bowl is the highlight of the NFL season for any player, and it’s always been a highlight for the Bud Light team as well,” Manning said in a press release. “We had a lot of fun making this commercial, and I’m sure a lot of people are going to be thinking through what they would wish for if they were lucky enough to meet the Bud Light Genie.”

Peyton Manning is joined by Post Malone, Dana White and a T-Rex in the commercial. Manning played in the NFL from 1998-2015, winning Super Bowls with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos before hanging up his cleats in 2016.

Last year, Manning starred a regional Super Bowl commercial for Bush’s Beans. In 2022, Manning featured in three Big Game ads — one for Michelob Ultra and two for Caesars Sportsbook.
