Texans tied for the worst odds to win Super Bowl LVII

The Houston Texans are tied for the worst odds to win Super Bowl LVII. How long are the odds for Houston?

Imagine if the Houston Texans won Super Bowl LVII.

The world champion scenario is one that Houston sports fans think about at some point during every offseason. However, much of the Texans’ chances to win the Super Bowl have to do with the composition of the team. Currently, the Texans are coming off a 4-13 season, their second straight four-win campaign, and are on the precipice of completing the rebuild under general manager Nick Caserio.

The Texans are also on their third coach in as many seasons in Lovie Smith, who is getting his third chance to coach an NFL team. Houston is also devoid of superstar talent, the likes of which they had heading into the 2019 season when J.J. Watt, DeAndre Hopkins, and Deshaun Watson featured prominently.

According to the Sportsbook Wire via Tipico odds, it would be a miracle for the Texans to win the Super Bowl at the end of the 2022 season. Houston currently has +10,000 odds to come out victorious in the Big Game in Glendale, Ariz., next February.

Houston was 8-9 against the spread in 2021, and their over/under was also 8-9.

The Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets equally have +10,000 odds to win next year’s Super Bowl. Of those teams, the Jaguars and Jets have something the Lions and Texans don’t: first-round quarterbacks. Perhaps, with a little luck, they could have Joe Burrow-esque seasons in 2022.

Across the AFC South, the Indianapolis Colts are +2000, as are the Tennessee Titans. The Titans failed to win their divisional playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals, despite sacking Burrow nine times. Tennessee became the first AFC team since the 2019 Baltimore Ravens to squander home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs have the best odds to win the Super Bowl at +650 each. The Los Angeles Rams, who just won the Super Bowl, have the third-best odds at +1000.

Broncos tied with 9th-best odds to win Super Bowl LVII

Broncos are tied for the ninth-best odds to win Super Bowl LVII, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, and attention now turns toward the 2022 NFL season.

The Buffalo Bills (+650) and Kansas City Chiefs (+650) are the co-favorites to win Super Bowl LVII next year, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

The Denver Broncos, meanwhile, are tied with the ninth-best odds (+2000) to win it all next year (seven other teams have the same odds). The Chiefs are the only team in the AFC West with better odds than Denver.

After the 2020 season, the Broncos were given the sixth-worst odds in the league to win the Super Bowl in 2021. Denver’s odds to win the title skyrocketed to ninth-best in the NFL after Aaron Rodgers rumors emerged last year, but the QB ended up not joining the team.

Now, with Rodgers speculation ramping up again, it appears that oddsmakers again like the Broncos’ chances of being competitive if they add the MVP QB (sportsbooks haven’t explicitly stated Rodgers rumors are improving Denver’s odds, but the dots are easy to connect).

Super Bowl LVII will be played at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.

What are Chargers’ odds to win Super Bowl LVII?

Here are the Chargers’ opening odds for Super Bowl 57.

The 2021 NFL season has officially come to an end after the Rams defeated the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday.

With that being said, it’s time to turn the page and look ahead to the next season.

At the moment, the Chargers are tied with six other teams for the sixth-best odds to win it all at +2000, per Tipico Sportsbook.

Those teams are the Ravens, Buccaneers, Broncos, Colts, Patriots, and Cardinals.

Los Angeles’ odds are reasonable, considering the team showed capable of going toe to toe with some of the best teams in the league, led by star quarterback Justin Herbert.

However, L.A. needs to address some deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball that showed up throughout the season to ensure it has enough ammo to take a leap.

If the Bolts nail their offseason, those odds will likely move down heading into the 2022 regular season.

Super Bowl LVII will be held Feb. 12, 2023, in Glendale, AZ.

Jags tied with 3 others for lowest odds to win Super Bowl LVII

The Jags, Jets, Texans, and Lions all will start at the bottom in terms of Tipico’s post-Super Bowl LVI odds.

The 2021 NFL season has officially ended after the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams clashed at SoFi Stadium in a pretty entertaining battle. In the end, though, it was the Rams who were able to get the victory thanks to a late Cooper Kupp touchdown that put his team up 23-20 before the one minute mark of the fourth quarter.

Needless to say, there will be a lot of celebrating in Los Angeles, but oddsmakers have already moved on to the next Super Bowl. And as fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars would expect after they landed the No. 1 overall pick for the second consecutive year, the Cardiac Cats are tied for the lowest odds at the moment (+10,000), according to Tipico Sportsbook.

The Jags spent this offseason searching for a new head coach for the second consecutive offseason. After getting a head start and starting the interview process on Dec. 30, the team finally named the man they interviewed on that date, Doug Pederson, their next coach on Feb. 3.

However, that coaching change and the Jags’ 2021 season hasn’t done much to move the needle in the eyes of oddsmakers as a lot of work has to be done. As a result, they’ve been grouped with the Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, and New York Jets, all of which also have a +10,000 figure.

The good news is that the Jags have a lot of resources they could utilize to get better quickly, like some of the NFL’s top draft picks and the second- largest cap space figure in the league. They also have a quarterback in Trevor Lawrence who could mesh well with Pederson, and that could give some bettors more confidence in the Jags than the other teams they have been grouped with.

The bad news is that the Jags retained general manager Trent Baalke, who has been a part of teams that have registered records of 5-11, 2-14, and 3-14, respectively, during his last three seasons as a general manager. Needless to say, if the Jags are going to have any chance at improving like the Bengals, they are going to need reinforcements in their front office both above and below Baalke, as the team said they had plans to acquire.

Right now, the Jags not only are understaffed in their front office, but haven’t named a full coaching staff yet. However, Pederson has moved swiftly and impressively on the latter issue, which makes the front office situation the key one to watch for those who believe the Jags can make a big jump in 2022.

Chiefs, Bills open with best odds to win Super Bowl LVII

The quest for Super Bowl LVII is officially on with the Los Angeles Rams’ 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

Our friends at Tipico Sportsbook have released their early odds for the winner of Super Bowl 57. Surprisingly, neither team that played on Sunday are the odds on favorite to win next year’s big game. Instead, the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are tied for favorites at +650 (bet $100 to win $650). They’re followed by the two teams that played in Sunday’s game, the Rams (+1200) and the Bengals (+1300).

Check out the entire top 10 down below:

It’s a little surprising to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers ranked so highly given the uncertainty surrounding their quarterback situations. All three teams could be starting new quarterbacks next season.

Kansas City and Buffalo were both in the postseason race for Super Bowl LVI, with the Chiefs defeating the Bills in a thrilling overtime victory. That game seems to be holding some weight on these odds for those teams.

The Chiefs are no strangers to being considered Super Bowl favorites lately. They were the odds on favorites for Super Bowl LIV, LV and LVI. Obviously, they came up short this year and did so after back-to-back years of making the Super Bowl, but they’ll only come back hungrier next season.

But that’s not stopping oddsmakers from revealing the early betting odds for the next Super Bowl.

Per Tipico Sportsbook, here’s a look at the way-too-early Super Bowl LVII odds for all 32 teams:

Way-too-early look at Titans’ odds to win Super Bowl LVII

The Titans are among the top 10 in odds to win Super Bowl LVII.

[mm-video type=playlist id=01eqbyh7crnrcs3ypf player_id=none image=https://titanswire.usatoday.com/wp-content/plugins/mm-video/images/playlist-icon.png]

With Super Bowl LVI in the books after the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, sportsbooks have now turned their attention to the 2022 season, which will culminate with Super Bowl LVII next February.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Titans are tied for the ninth-best odds to win The Big Game, coming in at +2000, along with the Baltimore Ravens.

The eight teams ahead of the Titans and Ravens include the Buffalo Bills (+650), Kansas City Chiefs (+650), Los Angeles Rams (+1200), Cincinnati Bengals (+1300), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1300), San Francisco 49ers (+1300), Dallas Cowboys (+1500), and Green Bay Packers (+1500).

The Titans played the Bills, Chiefs, Rams, Bengals and 49ers this past season, posting a 4-1 mark (including playoffs) against those five teams. Their only loss was, of course, to the Bengals in the divisional round.

While their 2021 season ended in disappointment, the Titans are still in prime position to make some noise in 2022.

Granted, there are some questions to answer on both sides of the ball, but the Titans will return the vast majority of their starters on defense, keeping together a group that was the team’s driving force in 2021.

The biggest question going into 2022 will be: can the Titans win a Super Bowl with Ryan Tannehill as their quarterback?

Right now, the answer looks to be no after what we saw in the playoff loss to Cincinnati, but we do know that, at the very least, Tannehill will put the Titans in position by getting to the playoffs in the first place.

From there, the Titans have a championship-caliber defense they can lean on, and as long as the team can get competent play from Tannehill, along with contributions from stars like A.J. Brown and Derrick Henry, Tennessee has as good a shot as any to make a run in 2022.

Colts have 20/1 odds to win Super Bowl LVII

With the conclusion of Super Bowl LVI, the Colts have 20/1 odds to win Super Bowl LVII.

The slate has been wiped clean following the conclusion of the 2021 season and the Indianapolis Colts will now focus their attention on making it to Super Bowl LVII.

With a big offseason ahead, the Colts have some massive decisions to make. The biggest one pertains to quarterback Carson Wentz and his future with the team.

Even with that decision in limbo, the Colts have 20/1 odds to win Super Bowl LVII, per Tipico Sportsbook.

The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City both lead the way with 13/2 (+650) odds to win Super Bowl LVII. Meanwhile, the Colts are tied with the Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals with 20/1 odds.

The Colts missed out on the playoffs in 2021 due to shoddy quarterback play coupled with a non-existent pass rush late in the season. Both were major factors in the team’s collapse over the final month of the season.

There is still a long offseason that awaits the Colts, but they appear to be right in the thick of it in terms of Super Bowl odds for the 2022 season.

Do Seahawks need to keep Russell Wilson to get to Super Bowl LVII?

An argument why the Seattle Seahawks need to hang on to quarterback Russell Wilson if they are to make it to Super Bowl LVII next season.

The Super Bowl kicks off in Los Angeles in under a week and the hype is already building to a fever pitch. The Rams, one of the Seattle Seahawks’ most formidable divisional rivals, will represent the NFC, and young quarterback Joe Burrow will take the reins for the Cincinnati Bengals.

This begs the question, what do the other 30 teams around the NFL need to do to get to the big game next season. Gregg Rosenthal, Around the NFL editor, took a look at every team from the NFC and predicted how each could replace the Rams in Super Bowl LVII next year.

His one suggestion for the Seahawks  – Seattle must not trade quarterback Russell Wilson.

“There’s an argument for trading Wilson now, with his value high, to better the long-term future of the Seahawks,” Rosenthal writes. “I don’t buy that argument, especially if making the Super Bowl next season is a goal. (And if Pete Carroll is still there, it should be!)”

“Most of the Seahawks’ secondary and offensive line are headed for free agency,” Rosenthal continues. “The team has plenty of cap space. This would have been a sensible year to blow up the entire machine, but ownership didn’t want to change course with Carroll or GM John Schneider. If they want to squeeze more out of the Carroll-Wilson era, they may as well go as bold as possible in spending, like their division-rival Rams did.

“Seattle’s roster is fine in most spots and excellent in very few.”
