Eagles have 25-1 odds to win Super Bowl LV

Philadelphia Eagles have 25-1 odds to win Super Bowl LV

The 2019 NFL season is officially over and the Kansas City Chiefs are the reigning kings after securing a Super Bowl title following their 31-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.

The NFL changes gears really quickly and with the Tampa being the host of next year’s big game, Vegas oddsmakers are already hard at work predicting the early field.

Caesars Sportsbook released an early look at the championship odds for all 32 teams and the Eagles have the sixth-highest odds in the NFC.

Kansas City opens as the early odds on favorites for Super Bowl LV, at 6-1. Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are second at 7-1, with the San Francisco 49ers (8-1), New Orleans Saints (11-1) and New England Patriots (14-1) rounding out the top five.

With players like Drew Brees, Tom Brady and others still weighing their futures, plus the spectators of the NFL Draft and free agency, those odds are certain to change several times over the next few months.

For the Eagles, they’ll be fine as long as Carson Wentz and Doug Pederson are on the same page offensively. The Eagles will look to get quicker, faster and younger during one of the most important offseasons in team history.

Colts have 33/1 odds to win Super Bowl LV

Colts aren’t favorites to win Super Bowl LV.

The 2019 NFL season has officially ended with the Kansas City Chiefs reigning supreme as Super Bowl champions following their 31-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.

With all of the attention looking toward the offseason, the Indianapolis Colts will be trying to get back into the playoff mix. A lot of changes need to happen this offseason for the Colts to do so, and Vegas isn’t too keen on Indy being the mix.

To begin the offseason, the Colts have 33/1 odds to win Super Bowl LV in 2021, per BetOnline.

The odds will differ depending on the site but there is a common theme regarding the Colts. No one is really picking them to go far in the 2020 season.

There are a lot of objectives to accomplish this offseason. The quarterback situation has been well documented and while Chris Ballard has given his support behind Jacoby Brissett, there is still a chance they add one in the draft.

The defensive line needs more talent, especially on the interior. That could lead the Colts to use the No. 13 overall pick on a defensive lineman. They also need to add to the wide receiver corps and cornerback room.

Because of the way the Colts ended the 2019 season, they won’t be favorites on anyone’s list. A big offseason awaits Ballard and the front office to turn the ship around in the right direction again.

5 things that need to happen for Bears to win Super Bowl

The Chiefs ended their 50-year Super Bowl drought. So what do the Bears need to do in order to end their own 34-year Super Bowl drought?

The NFL wrapped its 100th season with Super Bowl LIV, where the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20.

The Chiefs ended their 50-year Super Bowl drought with the victory, which left me thinking about what the Bears must do in order to end their 34-year Super Bowl drought.

Here are five things that need to happen if the Bears hope to win a Super Bowl:

1. Stabilize the quarterback position

Harrison Barden-USA TODAY Sports

If there’s something you can take away from the most recent previous Super Bowl winners, it’s that they’ve all had solid quarterbacks. While there have been teams in the past that have won in spite of their quarterback and led by a dominant defense, recent history suggests that you need a quarterback to win.

Which might be a problem for the Bears, who have the opposite of stability at the quarterback position. Chicago remains committed to Mitchell Trubisky as their starting quarterback heading into 2020, but there’s no doubt they’re going to bring in veteran competition and maybe even a young QB through the NFL Draft.

One thing is certain, the Bears cannot waste their championship-caliber defense any longer. Fix the quarterback position, whether that’s improved play from Trubisky or a new QB under center.

Jags’ odds slightly improve, but they remain a long shot to win Super Bowl LV

The Jags are a long shot to win Super Bowl LV, however, they’ve had worse odds.

The last time we checked, Ceasers Sportsbook had the Jacksonville Jaguars slotted with odds of +7,500 (75/1) to win Super Bowl LV, however, with Super Bowl LIV in the books, others think they have a slightly better chance. Betonline currently has the Jags down with odds of +5,000 (50/1), which is actually better than the odds of seven teams.

While those still aren’t very good odds, they surprisingly came in with better odds than the Carolina Panthers, who just brought in first year head coach Matt Rhule to replace Ron Rivera. Both the New York Giants and Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Washington Redskins  also had worse odds than the Jags, however, those aren’t surprises by any means.

It’s worth noting that there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the 2020 season, so odds will be all over the place for the Jags and others. For example, the New England Patriots’ odds could increase if they can re-sign Tom Brady. The same applies for the situation with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.

In the Jags’ case, they could see another slight increase in their odds if they can address the plethora of needs they have on offense and defense. That most importantly could be the case if they add weapons around quarterbacks Gardner Minshew or Nick Foles. Both are set to have an open competition to start the offseason, but regardless as to who wins it, their supporting cast needs to be upgraded. Upgrades at the linebacker and defensive tackle positions could help, too.

One thing that could motivate the Jags is the fact that the next Super Bowl takes place in their own state as the game will be played in Tampa, Florida on Feb. 7, 2021. It will mark the second consecutive Super Bowl in Florida as Sunday’s game took place in Miami.

Redskins given worst odds in NFL to win Super Bowl LV in 2020

The Redskins are 200-to-1 to win Super Bowl LV in 2020, which is by far the worst among 32 teams in the NFL.

The 2019-20 NFL Season is now in the books, with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the San Francisco 49ers, 31-20, and taking home the Lombardi Trophy.

Now the 2020 offseason officially begins, and like every other year, it starts with a look at the early odds for next year’s Super Bowl to set the stage for teams going forward.

Unfortunately for fans of the Washington Redskins, they are being given the worst odds in the NFL to win Super Bowl LV.

According to the Westgate Las Vegas SportsBook, the Redskins are currently listed as 200-to-1 odds to win the championship in 2020, which is the worst in the NFL. Ahead of the Redskins, the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars are all tied with 100-to-1 odds.

Though the Redskins have done a lot of work to remake their franchise and install a new culture in the last month, it doesn’t seem to be enough to convince Vegas that they are worth being taken seriously, as of yet.

Bears open with 25-1 odds to win Super Bowl LV

The Chicago Bears have opened with 25-1 odds to win Super Bowl LV, according to Sports Betting AG.

The 2019 season is officially in the books after the Kansas City Chiefs battled back to defeat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV.

Now, thoughts turn to the next century of the NFL.

The Chicago Bears have opened with 25-1 odds to win Super Bowl LV, according to Sports Betting AG.

The Bears are tied with the Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders at 25-1. There are 10 teams ahead of them, including the 49ers who opened as favorites to win Super Bowl LV at 5-1 odds.

The Bears have a long way to go if they’re going to make a return trip to the playoffs. Coming off a disappointing 8-8 season, the Bears are focused on fixing the offensive issues that plagued them in 2019.

Panthers have 100/1 odds to win the next Super Bowl

The odds are less than ideal for the Carolina Panthers to be the ones to do it.

The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off another inexplicable, historic comeback on Sunday, reeling off 21 straight points against the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth quarter to win Super Bowl LIV by a score of 31-20.

Congratulations are in order for Andy Reid, who will now finally get the recognition he deserves as one of the sport’s greatest coaches.

While the eventual Super Bowl MVP looked flustered by the 49ers defense for most of it, Patrick Mahomes made just enough plays down the stretch to lead another improbably successful come-from-behind effort. Our quarterback rankings will be coming out later in the month but it’s safe to say Mahomes will be at the top. His victory over Nick Bosa’s Niners brought his record to a preposterous 5-0 when falling behind by double digits this year.

Mahomes and the rest of Kansas City’s comeback kids are the new kings of the NFL. Now, the battle to dethrone them begins.

The odds are less than ideal for the Carolina Panthers to be the ones to do it. According to the updated odds for Super Bowl LV, they are 100/1. That ties them with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals and the Miami Dolphins for the second worst odds in the league. Only Washington (200/1) was lower on the list. The Chiefs are currently the favorites at 5/1.

Those are tough odds to swallow for any fan. Those in need of a silver lining should look to San Francisco as an example of how quickly a team can turn around in one year, though.

The 49ers went just 4-12 last year and few if anybody expected them to be playing in the Super Bowl when the season began. Kyle Shanahan will rightly get a lot of grief for blowing another huge lead in a championship game, but he also deserves an immense amount of credit for getting his team as far as he did – especially given his limitations at quarterback.

Even though they had an awful record in 2018, the 49ers’ roster was of course far more complete than Carolina’s right now. However, there is one interesting parallel.

Jimmy Garoppolo only played three games that season due to a torn ACL. While he clearly still has a ton of developing to do, his absence was the most significant factor in San Francisco’s struggles that year. By comparison, the Panthers were playing without Cam Newton for all but two games last season and it appears he will be coming back in 2020.

When he’s healthy, Newton is a far more capable QB than Garoppolo. He’ll also have a truly innovative offensive coordinator for the first time in his career. If they can fix the offensive line and Cam stays off the injury report, he will have a legitimate shot at Comeback Player of the Year and the Panthers likely will significantly improve on their 5-11 record.

That said, even if Newton gets back to an MVP level, the Panthers have a ton of questions to answer before we can even begin talking about a playoff run.

Broncos have long odds to win Super Bowl LV in 2021

Oddsmakers don’t like the Broncos’ chances of winning Super Bowl LV in 2021.

The Broncos have 50/1 odds to win Super Bowl LV in 2021, according to BetOnline.

Those aren’t very good odds, though it is an improvement from this time last year. In early 2019, the Broncos were given 66/1 odds to win the Super Bowl. Only one team (Dolphins, 100/1) had worse odds than Denver last year. This year, nine teams have worse odds than the Broncos.

The Chiefs (7/1) have the best odds to win the Super Bowl next year, followed by the Ravens (8/1) and 49ers (8/1). Four teams — the Bengals, Lions, Dolphins and Redskins — have the worst odds, 100/1.
