San Francisco 49ers history: All 14 games played at State Farm Stadium

The San Francisco 49ers are 6-8 all-time in State Farm Stadium, where they’ll play at least their next two home games.

The 49ers are set to play at least their next two home games at the home of the Arizona Cardinals, State Farm Stadium, because of new COVID-19 restrictions in Santa Clara County.

With San Francisco playing in the home of its division rivals, we decided to look back on the history of the two clubs inside that stadium, which was finished for the start of the 2006 campaign.

The 49ers are 6-8 there, and only last year snapped a five-game losing streak in that building.

They won’t be playing the Cardinals the next two weeks. They’ll “host” the Bills and Washington in Weeks 13 and 14 before facing the Cardinals in their stadium as the road team in Week 15.

Here’s a quick look back at all 14 of the 49ers’ games at State Farm Stadium:

49ers to play at least next two home games in Arizona

The 49ers will play at the Cardinals’ home, State Farm Stadium, for at least two games.

The 49ers are moving away from San Francisco, the team made the news official on Monday.

Well, they’ll be moving from the Bay Area for at least two weeks, anyway.

In an expected move, the Niners (5-6) will have their next two home games held at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals. Santa Clara County recently announced new COVID-19 restrictions which has caused the displacement.

The new rules go into effect Monday at 12:01 AM and will be lifted Dec. 21 at 5:00 AM. The 49ers have two home games in that window, including their upcoming contest against the Buffalo Bills (8-3) on Monday Night Football next weekend.

The 49ers released this statement on the matter on Monday:

“The San Francisco 49ers have come to an agreement with the National Football League and Arizona Cardinals which allows the 49ers to host their Weeks 13 and 14 home games against the Buffalo Bills and Washington Football Team at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.

“The Cardinals organization, State Farm Stadium and League officials have been supportive and accommodating as we work through the many logistical issues involved in relocating NFL games.

“Information regarding the 49ers future practice arrangements will be shared at the appropriate time.”

Official: Bills heading back to Arizona to face 49ers

Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers in Week 13 will be held at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.

What was once thought to be a most-likely case scenario is now official. The Buffalo Bills will have to change up some travel plans for next week.

Ahead of their Week 13 Monday Night Football contest against San Francisco, the Bills will face the 49ers (5-6) in Arizona, not in the Bay Area.

It was reported over the weekend that this was a probable scenario, but the 49ers announced the move, making it official for next week in a statement:

Here’s the release:

“The San Francisco 49ers have come to an agreement with the National Football League and Arizona Cardinals which allows the 49ers to host their Weeks 13 and 14 home games against the Buffalo Bills and Washington Football Team at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.

“The Cardinals organization, State Farm Stadium and League officials have been supportive and accommodating as we work through the many logistical issues involved in relocating NFL games.

“Information regarding the 49ers future practice arrangements will be shared at the appropriate time.”

The Bills will hope for a better outcome than their last trip to State Farm Stadium in this one. In Week 10, Buffalo lost 32-30 on a last second Hail Mary pass.

Santa Clara County. where the 49ers play, has new COVID-19 restrictions. Those banned all contact sports and mandated a 14-day quarantine for anyone traveling into the area from 150 miles away which is why the game’s venue has now been moved.

  • The Browns have posted a 5-2 ATS mark across the past seven against teams with a losing overall record, but they’re 0-4 ATS in the past four on the road.
  • Arizona is 4-0 ATS in the past four against losing teams, but 1-5 ATS in the past six in the month of December.

Browns at Cardinals: Key injuries

Browns: WR Odell Beckham Jr. (groin) is dealing with a nagging groin injury, while WR Jarvis Landry (hip) is nursing a sore hip. Neither is believed to be in jeopardy of missing this game.

Cardinals: S Budda Baker (hamstring) and LB Terrell Suggs (back/illness) missed practice time mid-week, and they’re more of an uncertainty. WR Christian Kirk (ankle) is also a question mark.

Prediction

Browns 25, Cardinals 19

Moneyline (?)

The BROWNS (-143) have a lot more on the line, and they have a tremendous rushing attack which will make the difference. The Cardinals rank 24th against the rush, allowing 120.5 yards per game on the ground, and they’re dead-last against the pass, yielding 294.2 yards per game while giving up 414.7 total yards per contest, also 32nd in the NFL.

Against the Spread (?)

The BROWNS (-2.5, -121) are a nice play as long as this line stays below a field goal. They’re also a tremendous teaser option in this must-win game against the Cardinals (+2.5, +100). If you can get a seven-point teaser and toss the Browns in, they’ll be that much more attractive.

Over/Under (?)

UNDER 48.5 (-115) is the play, as this line is a bit high. While yes, Arizona’s defense leaves a lot to be desired, its offense has only been so-so. The same can be said for Cleveland’s offense, which was expected to be a juggernaut, but has been inconsistent for most of the season outside of RB Nick Chubb, who is superb.
