Orlando Guardians at St. Louis Battlehawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Orlando Guardians at St. Louis Battlehawks odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Guardians (1-8) and the St. Louis Battlehawks (6-3) meet Saturday in a regular-season finale in Week 10. Kickoff from The Dome at America’s Center is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN/ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Guardians vs. Battlehawks odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Guardians suffered a disappointing 25-23 setback at the San Antonio Brahmas in Week 9. Orlando pushed as a 2-point underdog and is 3-1-1 against the spread (ATS) in its past 5 games. The Guardians are on a 5-1 Over run in their last 6 contests — their Week 9 O/U line was 38.5.

The Battlehawks were bounced at home 30-12 last week by the Seattle Sea Dragons in a very disappointing result. The 12 points were a season low for St. Louis, while the 30 points were the 2nd-most it allowed this year. The Under is on a 4-0 run for the Battlehawks.

Guardians at Battlehawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Battlehawks 30, Guardians 19

Moneyline

The Battlehawks (-400) are fighting for a playoff position, while the Guardians (+300) are eliminated from the postseason chase. Still, while St. Louis is expected to win, you cannot risk 4 times your potential return.

Remember, this is an Orlando side with just 1 win, but it came against the North Division champ DC Defenders in Week 7.

AVOID.

Against the spread

ST. LOUIS -9 (-110) will be going all out as it is fighting with Seattle for the 2nd playoff spot in the North Division. The two are tied at 6-3 and they split their 2 regular-season contests.

If both lose this weekend, St. Louis wins the tiebreaker based on a better division record.

If they both win, it’s a little more complicated and will likely come down to the 3rd tiebreaker (strength of victory in all games – combined record of opponents in win) or the 4th tiebreaker (best combined ranking among division teams in points scored and points allowed in all games).

Both are playing eliminated teams in this final week. Seattle hosts the Vegas Vipers (2-7) Sunday at 7 p.m. ET.

The Battlehawks won’t want to take any chances and likely will be pass-happy right out of the chute against a Guardians defense that has allowed 25 or more points in 7 of its 9 games

St. Louis has failed to cover each of the past 2 outings, and it is just 1-3 ATS in 4 home games this season. However, with a playoff spot on the line, look for the Battlehawks to take care of business.

Over/Under

OVER 48 (-110) is the lean.

There is very little concern that the Battlehawks will be able to score. The question is: Will the Guardians be able to hang?

St. Louis was toasted for 30 points last week by a solid Seattle offense, but prior to that, the Battlehawks had allowed just 12.7 points per game in the previous 3 contests. The Under is on a 4-0 run for St. Louis, too, so be careful.

Seattle Sea Dragons at St. Louis Battlehawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Seattle Sea Dragons at St. Louis Battlehawks odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Sea Dragons (5-3) and the St. Louis Battlehawks (6-2) meet Sunday in a Week 9 matchup. Kickoff from The Dome at America’s Center is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Sea Dragons vs. Battlehawks odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Sea Dragons were on the rise, winning 5 straight games heading into Week 8 against the DC Defenders. Seattle was nipped 34-33 at home, splashing cold water on the Sea Dragons. It is still 4-2 ATS in the last 6 games, while hitting the Over in 3 in a row, and 6 of 8 this season.

The Battlehawks won for the 3rd consecutive time last week at home against the Vegas Vipers, although they failed to cover in the 21-17 win as 7.5-point favorites. The Under cashed for the 3rd straight game, too, as the defense has allowed just 12.7 points per game (PPG) during the win streak.

These teams met in Seattle back in Week 2, with the Battlehawks scratching out a 20-18 road win as 3.5-point underdogs as the Over (36.5) connected.

Sea Dragons at Battlehawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Sea Dragons 25, Battlehawks 19

Moneyline

The SEA DRAGONS (-105) are the play, as McCarron is banged up for the Battlehawks (-115), and a question mark to play. With his backup, Tiano, hitting IR this week, the team could be forced to start former Arizona State standout QB Manny Wilkins, with Vincent Testaverde Jr. serving as backup. That’s not ideal.

QB Ben DiNucci has been a stud for the Sea Dragons, rolling up 2,072 passing yards with 15 TD, leading the XFL in yardage. Of course, DiNucci also leads the league with 10 INT, too.

Still, if McCarron is officially ruled out, or limited in any way, that seriously decreases the chances of St. Louis winning.

Against the spread

Betting the Sea Dragons +1 (-110) makes no sense. If you like Seattle, just bet it straight up on the moneyline for a better price.

AVOID.

Over/Under

UNDER 46 (-110) is the lean. This game should be a shootout between DiNucci and McCarron, and that’s what the people want to see. But if McCarron is limited or sidelined, that will limit the offensive potential.

Seattle has cashed the Under just twice this season. Of course, the Under is 2-2 in the 4 games prior to Week 8, and the defense has allowed 19 or fewer points in 4 straight from Weeks 4-7.

St. Louis has cashed the Under in 3 in a row, allowing just 12.7 PPG in the past 3 outings. Even if McCarron plays, we could see a little more defense than anticipated.

Vegas Vipers at St. Louis Battlehawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Vegas Vipers at St. Louis Battlehawks odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Vegas Vipers (2-5) visit the St. Louis Battlehawks (5-2) Saturday in Week 8 XFL action at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Vipers vs. Battlehawks odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Vipers had their most impressive outing of the season in Week 7, dropping the San Antonio Brahmas 26-12 in their home finale as 3-point favorites. Vegas, which plays its final 3 games on the road, snapped an 0-5 against-the-spread (ATS) skid in the process, while cashing the Under for the first time in consecutive games.

The Battlehawks picked up a 24-15 win as 3-point road underdogs against the Houston Roughnecks, covering in back-to-back outings for the first time this season. The Under also cashed in consecutive games for the Battlehawks for the first time in 2023.

Vipers at Battlehawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Battlehawks 26, Vipers 15

Moneyline

The Battlehawks (-300) will cost 3 times your potential return, and that’s just too expensive against the visiting Vipers, who come in with a little momentum after dropping San Antonio last weekend.

PASS.

Against the spread

The BATTLEHAWKS -7.5 (-105) are worth a look laying the points, as they look for a 3rd straight cover.

The Dome at America’s Center is about as hostile an environment as you’ll see in the XFL, with a raucous crowd making it very uncomfortable for the visitors.

St. Louis has scored 20 or more points in 6 consecutive games, and QB A.J. McCarron is 2nd in the XFL with 1,544 passing yards and a 68.9% completion percentage, while leading the league with 17 passing TDs.

The Vipers topped the Brahmas last weekend for a nice win, but facing the pass-happy Battlehawks in a hostile environment will be too much to handle.

Over/Under

The UNDER 46.5 (-115) is the lean as the Vipers are likely to struggle to put up points.

The Under is 3-1 in the past 4 games for the Battlehawks, while cashing in each of the past 2 games for the Vipers. Vegas is averaging just 13.0 PPG of offense in 2 road games this season, too, while St. Louis is allowing 15.0 PPG across the previous 4 outings overall.

St. Louis Battlehawks at Houston Roughnecks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s St. Louis Battlehawks at Houston Roughnecks Week 7 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis Battlehawks (4-2) visit the Houston Roughnecks (4-2) Sunday in Week 7 XFL action at TDECU Stadium in Houston. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET (ESPN/ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Battlehawks vs. Roughnecks odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Battlehawks posted a 29-6 win at Vegas last week as a 3-point favorite, bouncing back from a loss at home to the undefeated DC Defenders in Week 5. St. Louis has alternated losses and wins against the spread (ATS) in each of the first 6 weeks.

QB A.J. McCarron has completed an XFL-best 67.5% of his pass attempts while posting 1,322 yards with a league-best 14 TD and 4 INT through 6 games. It isn’t all great for McCarron, though, as he has been sacked an XFL-most 20 times.

While the offense gets a lot of the headlines, the defense has allowed just 12.5 points per game (PPG) in its 4 games against all teams other than DC.

The Roughnecks started out 4-0 SU and ATS, but it has dropped the last 2 games at Seattle and DC, going 0-2 ATS while allowing 29.0 PPG. Houston made headlines signing former Los Angeles Chargers WR Michael Bandy this week, looking to boost the offense.

Battlehawks at Roughnecks picks and predictions

Prediction

Battlehawks 25, Roughnecks 22

Moneyline

The BATTLEHAWKS (+130) are a solid play on the road, as this offense is really humming. McCarron is solid, especially on the off chance he actually gets protection, and the defense is on a roll, too.

There have been some rumblings that the Roughnecks (-155) could potentially change up the QB position, even though Brandon Silvers has completed 61.8% of his passes for 1,300 yards, 11 TD and 5 INT. That’s because of the 2-game losing streak, and the fact QB Cole McDonald provided a spark last week in DC. Stay tuned.

Against the spread

The BATTLEHAWKS +3 (-110) are worth playing if you don’t trust them straight up. It will be especially solid if you can catch St. Louis with 3 and the hook at some point before kickoff.

The Roughnecks -3 (-110) opened 4-0 ATS, but they have failed to cover the last 2 games, yielding 29.0 PPG in the process. Facing the pass-happy Battlehawks will be bad news for the Houston defense.

Over/Under

The OVER 44.5 (-110) is quite a high number. In fact, it’s the 2nd-highest total this season in the XFL. Both of these teams are 3-3 on totals, so there isn’t much to glean there. But McCarron has had a great season, helping the team roll up 20 or more points in 5 straight games, and Houston has allowed 29.0 PPG in the last 2 outings.

We might not get into the 50’s in this Week 7 clash, but high 40’s is a very good possibility as the XFL wraps up the week with a good game on Sunday.

St. Louis Battlehawks at Vegas Vipers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s St. Louis Battlehawks at Vegas Vipers Week 6 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis Battlehawks (3-2) visit the Vegas Vipers (1-4) Saturday in Week 6 XFL action at Cashman Field in Las Vegas. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (FX/ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Battlehawks vs. Vipers odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Battlehawks were on the short end of a 28-20 loss at home against the unbeaten DC Defenders in Week 5. St. Louis is 0-2 straight up (SU) against DC, and 3-0 SU against everybody else.

The Vipers picked up a 35-32 win over the Orlando Guardians last weekend, earning their 1st victory of the season. QB Luis Perez threw for 269 yards and 3 TDs, while RB Rod Smith rushed for 62 yards and 2 TDs.

Battlehawks at Vipers picks and predictions

Prediction

Battlehawks 27, Vipers 19

Moneyline

The BATTLEHAWKS (-165) look to pick themselves up and dust themselves off after suffering another setback against the Defenders in Week 5. There’s no shame in losing to DC, as it is the XFL’s only unbeaten team, and St. Louis will get well against a 1-win Vipers team that scored 35 points last week but also allowed 32 to the winless Guardians.

QB AJ McCarron and the St. Louis pass attack will have their way with Vegas, and the Vipers’ offense won’t be nearly as effective against the visitors.

Against the spread

The BATTLEHAWKS -3 (-110) are a decent play against the leaky defense of the Vipers. This is a team with a lot of holes, the Battlehawks have been strong against all teams not named the Defenders.

Over/Under

The OVER 44.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Vipers have allowed 30 or more points in each of the past 3 games, cashing the Over in each of the outings, while cashing the Over at a 4-1 clip to date. The Battlehawks will add to their woes with yet another high-scoring output.

DC Defenders at St. Louis Battlehawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s DC Destroyers at St. Louis Battlehawks Week 5 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The DC Defenders (4-0) travel to meet the St. Louis Battlehawks (3-1)  Saturday in a Week 5 matchup at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (FX/ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Defenders vs. Battlehawks odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Defenders are the XFL’s last unbeaten team after Houston lost earlier this week against Seattle. DC is coming off its most lopsided victory of the season, topping the Vegas Vipers by a 32-18 score last time out. The Over has cashed in 3 of 4 games for DC this season, too.

The Battlehawks packed the Dome last week in a record XFL crowd of 38,310 fans for the home opener. St. Louis didn’t disappoint its throng of fans, picking up an emphatic 24-11 win, as QB A.J. McCarron passed for 214 yards.

Defenders at Battlehawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Battlehawks 24, Defenders 22

Moneyline

The BATTLEHAWKS (+105) are a good bet to hand the Defenders (-130) their first setback of the season.

Playing in St. Louis is probably the most intimidating environment in the XFL, and the Battlehawks will continue to benefit from the noise in home games similar to the NFL home-field advantage. It was a wild scene last week against the Renegades.

Against the spread

If you like the Battlehawks +2 (-112), you should just play it straight up at plus-money. Unless you feel that the Defenders -2 (-108) are only going to win by 1, there is no reason to play the underdog with the points rather than just playing them straight up.

PASS.

Over/Under

The OVER 42.5 (-110) is the lean. It has cashed in 3 of 4 games for St. Louis so far, including the first meeting at Audi Field in Washington D.C., which resulted in 62 total points.

The Defenders have cashed the Over in 3 of 4 games to date, too, while the Over/Under is 2-2 for the Battlehawks.

Arlington Renegades at St. Louis Battlehawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Arlington Renegades at St. Louis Battlehawks odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Arlington Renegades (2-1) and the St. Louis Battlehawks (2-1) meet Sunday at The Dome at America’s Center. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Renegades vs. Battlehawks odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Renegades are expected to turn to QB Kyle Sloter for his 2nd consecutive start. Although Arlington has a winning record, it has struggled a bit and both wins are against winless teams (Vegas and Orlando). And those 2 wins are by a combined 3 points, so pump the brakes a little on Arlington’s expectations.

Arlington also has a 2.5 rushing yards per attempt average, easily the lowest in the XFL. On the flip side, the Renegades are very good against the run, but mediocre against the pass, and that’s bad news against St. Louis.

To make matters worse, Arlington’s secondary is banged up. It lost CB Josh Hawkins to a torn ACL, and he is the 3rd defensive back to land on the reserve list already this season.

The Battlehawks play their 1st home game of the season, and it should be a raucous crowd in St. Louis with more than 30,000 fans. QB AJ McCarron is 3rd in the XFL with 636 passing yards, 7 TD and 2 INT through 3 games.

Renegades at Battlehawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Battlehawks 29, Renegades 15

Moneyline

The Battlehawks (-190) are just a little too expensive for my liking, over my personal limit for a moneyline play, especially for the XFL.

PASS, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The BATTLEHAWKS -4.5 (-105) might be my favorite play, not only of the XFL weekend, but of the entire season so far.

I think that the line is a little lower because the Renegades +4.5 (-115) have a winning overall. However, they barely won against Vegas and Orlando, the 2 worst teams in the league. Arlington might be the 6th-best team, but the line suggests otherwise.

Meanwhile, St. Louis is opening the upper deck at the dome, and you can expect a super raucous crowd. Toss in the fact the secondary is dinged up for Arlington, and the Battlehawks are a pass-happy team, and this one could get super ugly. I’d go 2 full units on St. Louis to cover.

Over/Under

OVER 36.5 (-110) is a concern, as Arlington has really had some difficulty making things happen on offense. However, St. Louis will do most of the heavy lifting here, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Battlehawks flirt with 30 points. It’s gonna be pass, pass, pass for St. Louis, taking advantage of the depleted secondary of Arlington.

St. Louis Battlehawks vs. D.C. Defenders odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s St. Louis Battlehawks vs. D.C Defenders Week 3 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis Battlehawks (2-0) take on the D.C. Defenders (2-0) in Audi Field on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (FX/ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Battlehawks vs. Defenders odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The comeback kids square off against each other in Week 3. Both teams have trailed in the 4th quarter in both of their games so far, but are still undefeated.

In Week 2 the Battlehawks needed a 44-yard field goal as time expired to beat the Seattle Sea Dragons 20-18. The Defenders faced the Las Vegas Vipers last week and entered the 4th quarter down 6-3 before 15 unanswered points gave them the 18-6 win.

Battlehawks vs. Defenders picks and predictions

Prediction

Defenders 22, Battlehawks 16

Moneyline

The DC’s defense has been impressive so far this season. The Defenders are 2nd in the XFL with 2 INTs and are 1 of 2 teams with a pick-6.

I like the Defenders at home, but -160 is a bit much and you will be sweating it when the Battlehawks move the ball in the 4th quarter, like they have done is their 2 games this season. It’s best to PASS.

Against the spread

Battlehawks QB A.J. McCarron has been great in the 4th quarter, the crunch time for backdoor covers. The Defenders don’t have a single receiving TD and are last in receptions (20). There should be plenty of opportunities for the Battlehawks to keep the game close.

BET BATTLEHAWKS +2.5 (-108).

Over/Under

Washington’s offense is pure ground and pound. Their top receiver, Lucky Jackson, has 42 yards in 2 games combined. But 2 of the top 3 players in the XFL by rush attempts are Defenders.

BET UNDER 36.5 (-105).

St. Louis BattleHawks at Seattle Sea Dragons odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s St. Louis BattleHawks at Seattle Sea Dragons Week 2 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

Week 2 of the 2023 XFL season kicks off Thursday night with the St. Louis BattleHawks (1-0) on the road against the Seattle Sea Dragons (0-1). Kickoff is at 9 p.m. ET at Lumen Field (FX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the BattleHawks vs. Sea Dragons odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The BattleHawks pulled off a miraculous win in their season opener. They scored 2 TDs and converted on a 3-point conversion in the final 1:25  to pick up an 18-15 road win over the San Antonio Brahmas, but they failed to cover the 3.5-point spread as favorites.

The Sea Dragons were 2.5-point road favorites against he D.C. Defenders, but lost the game straight up 22-18 despite outgaining the Defenders 331-177 in yards. They turned the ball over 4 times.

BattleHawks at Sea Dragons picks and predictions

Prediction

Sea Dragons 23, BattleHawks 18

Money line

The Sea Dragons proved that they can move the ball offensively, although they did not finish their drives in the 1st game of the season.

The BattleHawks mustered only 3 points in their 1st 9 drives in the opener and benefitted from the play of a quarterback who has since been benched.

I like the Sea Dragons to win but at -180, PASS on the moneyline.

Against the spread

Playing in front of the home crowd in a city that is known for fan noise, whether it is the Seahawks in the NFL or the Sounders in the MLS, expect the BattleHawks to make some mistakes offensively.

The Sea Dragons turned the ball over 4 times in Week 1. Don’t expect that to repeat in Week 2 at home.

BET SEA DRAGONS -3.5 (+102).

Over/Under

There were 33 points scored the St. Louis opener while Seattle’s opener had 40 points. The Sea Dragons’ pass-happy offense and league rules encourages scoring.

BET OVER 36.5 (-112).

St. Louis BattleHawks vs. San Antonio Brahmas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s St. Louis BattleHawks vs. San Antonio Brahmas Week 1 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis BattleHawks open their XFL season against the San Antonio Brahmas in the Alamodome at 3 pm ET (ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the BattleHawks vs. Brahmas odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

If you enjoyed watching the XFL games on Saturday, Sunday will also feature some former NFL players who didn’t get a chance to show their skills.

The St. Louis BattleHawks are one of the original teams when XFL kickedoff in 2020 while the San Antonio Brahmas are a new addition. If your curious,  the Brahma is a kind of cow.

The BattleHawks will be lad by former Alabama QB AJ McCarron, who spent his 6-year NFL career as a backup with 3 teams. The Brahmas will have QB Jack Coan, who led Notre Dame to an 11-1 record in 2021.

BattleHawks vs. Brahmas picks and predictions

Prediction

Brahmas 19, BattleHawks 15

Money line

We still need to feel out how these teams operate together, but I like the Brahmas.Coan had an impressive season to end his college career. He threw for 3150 yards with 25 TDs vs 7 INTs. That plus former NFL running back Kalen Ballage gives the home team an advantage.

BET BRAHMAS +120.

Against the spread

Since I like the Brahmas straight up, I will certainly take the points (although -130 is quite juicy). In the 5 weeks the XFL operated in 2020, the home team won 14 of the 20 games.

BET BRAHMAS +3.5 (-130).

Over/Under

The 2020 season opened 2-2 in the totals market. Its tough to get a read on how well these teams will score. I would AVOID until Week 2.
