San Antonio Brahmas at DC Defenders odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s San Antonio Brahmas at DC Defenders odds and lines, with expert UFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The San Antonio Brahmas (4-1) take on the DC Defenders (2-3) Sunday at Audi Field at 4 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN+). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Brahmas vs. Defenders odds and make our expert UFL football picks and predictions.

The Brahmas have won 2 straight after a 25-15 road win against the Arlington Renegades last week. QB Quinten Dormady went 19-for-30 for 164 yards, 1 score and 3 INTs. While undefeated since QB Chase Garbers was lost for the season with a wrist injury, the offense clearly misses him. RB John Lovett paced the offense with 13 rushes for 95 yards and 2 TDs.

The Defenders are coming off a 45-12 massacre in their building by the St. Louis Battlehawks. They have lost 2 straight and are behind the 8-ball in terms of their playoff hopes. QB Jordan Ta’amu went 12-for-23 for 101 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs. They rushed 30 times for 84 yards and a score in the setback. The Defenders lost to the Brahmas in a 27-12 Week 1 affair on the road as 6-point favorites.

Brahmas at Defenders picks and predictions

Prediction

Defenders 21, Brahmas 18

Moneyline

The Brahmas are operating without their top QB and RB, and they have gotten by on Fool’s Gold the last couple of weeks. DC’s season is going in the tank, and the veteran leadership of Ta’amu will help right the ship. Plus, they remember the Week 1 beatdown and will exact revenge.

Take the DEFENDERS +105.

Against the spread

There is little reason to take the spread here. Just stick with the value on the ML.

PASS.

Over/Under

Three of 5 games have gone Under this total for DC, and the Defenders are 1-4 O/U overall. The Brahmas are 4-1 O/U, but they have not cashed this total in their last 2 without Garbers.

Take the UNDER 42.5 (-110).

San Antonio Brahmas at Arlington Renegades odds, picks and predictions

Beat the sportsbook: Analyzing Saturday’s San Antonio Brahmas at Arlington Renegades odds and lines, with expert UFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The San Antonio Brahmas (3-1) travel to meet the Arlington Renegades (0-4) Saturday at Choctaw Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Brahmas vs. Renegades odds and make our expert UFL picks and predictions.

The Brahmas have gotten off to a solid start, winning 3 of 4 games, while splitting against the spread (ATS). The Under has cashed in 3 of 4 games, too, with the defense holding the opposition to 19 or fewer points in each of the games the total has gone low.

The Renegades have stumbled out of the gate, losing all 4 games, while going just 0-3-1 ATS. The Over/Under has split 2-2. At home, Arlington is averaging 21.0 points per game (PPG), but it is allowing 28.0 PPG.

These teams split their 2 meetings in XFL play last season, with Arlington winning 12-10 in San Antonio in Week 5, while the Brahmas won 15-9 in Arlington the following weekend. The Under has cashed in both all-time meetings.

Brahmas at Renegades picks and predictions

Prediction

Brahmas 23, Renegades 18

Moneyline

The BRAHMAS (-140) are a solid play on the road in Arlington, as the Renegades (+115) just haven’t been able to get out of their own way so far this season.

San Antonio has leaned upon a decent offense while also relying upon a rock-solid defense to get off to a 3-1 start. Arlington tightened up on defense last week, but that was in part due to the fact Houston is so awful. The Renegades allowed 27 or more points in each of the first 3 games, so San Antonio should be able to move the ball well against Arlington.

Against the spread

If you prefer, the BRAHMAS -2.5 (-105) are also a solid play on the road. It would be silly to bet each thing together. Laying the points is much cheaper, and all San Antonio has to do is win by 3 points. You might prefer the moneyline, though, as San Antonio won its only previous road game by a single point in Week 2 at Memphis.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

UNDER 42.5 (-115) is the lean in this Week 5 Lone Star State matchup, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Over-Under has split in 4 games for Arlington, including 1-1 at home. The Under is 3-1 for San Antonio this season, though, while cashing in both XFL meetings last season between these 2 sides.

Michigan Panthers at San Antonio Brahmas odds, picks and predictions

Beat the sportsbook: Analyzing Saturday’s Michigan Panthers at San Antonio Brahmas odds and lines, with expert UFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Michigan Panthers (2-1) travel to meet the San Antonio Brahmas (2-1) Saturday at the Alamodome. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Panthers vs. Brahmas odds and make our expert UFL picks and predictions.

The Panthers picked up a 34-20 win against the Houston Roughnecks, capping off a 3-game homestand to open the season with 2 victories and 2 covers. The Under cashed in 2 of the 3 outings, too. Michigan is 0-2 against the spread (ATS) as an underdog and 1-0 ATS as a favorite. The Under is 2-0 in 2 games as a ‘dog, and the Over cashed in the only outing as a favorite, too.

The Brahmas suffered their 1st defeat of the season, falling 31-24 at the Alamodome in Week 3. San Antonio covered in a 27-12 win against D.C. in the opener, but it failed to cover in a narrow victory at Memphis in Week 2, and it is 1-2 ATS while also cashing the Under twice in 3 outings.

Panthers at Brahmas picks and predictions

Prediction

Brahmas 20, Panthers 18

Moneyline

The BRAHMAS (-115) are a solid play on their home field as they look for the bounceback after a disappointing Week 3 loss to the high-octane Battlehawks offense.

The Panthers (-105) defense has given them a chance to win every time out. Michigan has allowed 20 or fewer points, yielding just 18.7 PPG to date in 3 outings. The Over (38.5) cashed last week, as the offense exploded all over Houston for 34 points. Michigan isn’t likely to have that kind of success against a San Antonio D which allowed just 31 points in the 1st 2 weekends.

Against the spread

The BRAHMAS -1.5 (-110) are worth playing instead of the moneyline, as it is almost the same thing for a slightly smaller price. Yes, you can lose if San Antonio wins by a single point, and I expect a very close game. However, save a little, and bet the spread instead.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

UNDER 42.5 (-110) is a strong play in this battle of 2-1 teams.

The Under cashed in the 1st 2 weekends for both of these teams, with Michigan averaging 15.5 PPG while allowing 18.0 PPG in the 1st 2 outings. San Antonio averaged 23.5 PPG while conceding 15.5 PPG in the 1st 2 weekends. These teams each cashed the Over in Week 3, but expect a return to their defensive ways Saturday night.

San Antonio Brahmas at Memphis Showboats odds, picks and predictions

Beat the sportsbook: Analyzing Saturday’s San Antonio Brahmas at Memphis Showboats odds and lines, with expert UFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

Week 2 of the UFL season kicks off Saturday with the San Antonio Brahmas (1-0) on the road against the Memphis Showboats (1-0). Kickoff is at noon ET at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium (ESPN/ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Brahmas vs. Showboats odds and make our expert football picks and predictions.

The Brahmas kicked off their season with a 27-12 upset win over the D.C. Defenders at home Sunday. They entered the game as 6-point underdogs, and the Under (43.5) cashed in.

The Showboats were 1.5-point road underdogs but beat the Houston Roughnecks 18-12 Sunday behind 204 passing yards and 1 passing TD from QB Case Cookus; the Under (39.5) also cashed in.

Brahmas at Showboats picks and predictions

Prediction

Showboats 18, Brahmas 15

Moneyline

The Brahmas were tied for the most points in Week 1. Both the Brahmas and SHOWBOATS (+110) allowed only 12 points to their opponents.

The coaching matchup is good. San Antonio coach Wade Phillips is a defensive legend, while Memphis coach John DeFilippo is great on offense.

But Cookus led the Philadelphia Stars to the USFL championship game in 2022, only to break his leg and see his team lose.

Brahmas QB Chase Garbers is not yet that experienced.

It will be a low-scoring game as both teams looked solid defensively a week ago, but I’m giving the edge to the home team with the more experienced QB.

BET SHOWBOATS (+110).

Against the spread

Since we’re already looking to win on the moneyline with plus odds, there’s no need to bet the spread on the underdogs. All 4 teams who covered the spread in Week 1 also won their games outright, which included a pair of underdogs.

PASS.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

No game in Week 1 hit the Over, which is to be expected in the 1st week of a new league with no preseason to work out any kinks.

But both teams limited their opponents to 12 points in Week 1, and while the Brahmas scored 27 last week, I expect both defenses to be solid.

BET UNDER 39.5 (-110).

DC Defenders at San Antonio Brahmas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s DC Defenders at San Antonio Brahmas odds and lines, with expert UFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The DC Defenders open the season against the San Antonio Brahmas Sunday at the Alamodome at noon ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Defenders vs. Brahmas odds and make our expert football picks and predictions.

The Defenders are led by QB Jordan Ta’amu, who turned a successful stint in the XFL in 2020 into jobs with 3 NFL teams over the last 3 years. He’ll run offensive coordinator Fred Kaiss’ RPO offense and serve as a threat through the air and a little bit on the ground. They’ll be led on the ground by RB Cam’Ron Harris, who was picked up late in the 2023 season and rushed 5 times for 25 yards and 2 TDs against the Seattle Sea Dragons in the playoffs. You’ll see a familiar name in DC’s receiving corps with former Houston Texans WR Keke Coutee lining up in the slot.

Longtime NFL coach and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips has tapped Chase Garbers as his starting quarterback. Garbers, who spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders, is reminiscent of 2020 XFL sensation P.J. Walker, according to the club. The team is super excited by former Pittsburgh Steelers RB Anthony McFarland, who possesses the speed that could take over games. WR Jontre Kirklin is also a name to watch, as he was one of the XFL’s best receivers before an injury derailed him. TE Cody Latimer is also in tow as the former Denver Broncos and New York Giants receiver could create mismatches as a hybrid tight end.

Defenders at Brahmas picks and predictions

Prediction

Defenders 24, Brahmas 17

Moneyline

These teams faced one another in the XFL season finale last year with DC edging the Brahmas 29-28. The Defenders went 9-1 last season and fell to the Arlington Renegades in the XFL Championship Game. The key here is Ta’amu is in his 2nd season in this RPO offense, and he provides stability and a comfort level. So the Defenders are deserving of the heavy favorites moniker. There’s no bet to place here.

PASS.

Against the spread

This is one of the biggest spreads in opening week action, but it’s warranted. The continuity DC brings back on offense, coupled with the success the Defenders had last season makes them a dangerous team each week.

Take the DEFENDERS -6 (-115).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

Veteran bettors will remember that the early weeks in the XFL went Under often. The books know this, too, and this number is a little dicey. We’re projecting it to just sneak UNDER 43.5 (-115). If it goes any lower, though, you might have to reconsider.

DC Defenders at San Antonio Brahmas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s DC Defenders at San Antonio Brahmas odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The DC Defenders (8-1) and the San Antonio Brahmas (3-6) meet Saturday in a Week 10 XFL matchup. Kickoff from Alamodome is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Defenders vs. Brahmas odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Defenders have already clinched the North Division. DC didn’t take its foot off the gas last week, easing by Arlington 28-26 in overtime, but it didn’t come close to covering as an 8.5-point favorite. After opening 6-0 against the spread (ATS), DC is just 1-2 ATS in the previous 3 weekends. The Over is on a 7-0 run, with DC posting 28 or more points in each of the outings.

The Brahmas are still in the mix for a postseason spot, but San Antonio needs help. San Antonio not only needs to win this week — a tall order against the league’s best team —  but it needs Arlington to lose to a Houston team that has already locked up a postseason spot.

San Antonio won 25-23 last week against Orlando, and it has cashed at a 3-1 ATS clip in the past 4 outings. The Over last week was a rarity, halting a 6-0 Under run for the Brahmas.

Defenders at Brahmas picks and predictions

Prediction

Brahmas 25, Defenders 22

Moneyline

The BRAHMAS (+130) are worth a roll of the dice at home. San Antonio will be desperate for a win to stay in the mix for a playoff spot because the Brahmas are toast if they lose.

San Antonio QB Jack Coan completed 25 of 31 passes for a season-high 302 yards last week against Orlando to stay alive. That could be a problem for a Defenders team that allowed a season-high 434 yards last week against the Renegades. Again, DC wasn’t going at it as hard as possible, as it already had the North Division locked up.

Against the spread

The BRAHMAS +3 (-110) aren’t nearly as attractive catching just the 3 points. San Antonio is 3-1 ATS in the past 4 games overall, while DC has failed to cover in 2 of the previous 3 outings. It’s a better value playing San Antonio straight up, however.

Over/Under

OVER 41.5 (-115) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Over is on a 7-0 run for DC, and it still managed 28 points last week. That’s 7 straight games for the Defenders scoring at least 28 points. And on defense, DC has coughed up at least 26 points in 4 in a row.

The Brahmas aren’t exactly known for their offense, but San Antonio did post 25 points against Orlando, which was its most since Week 2 against, well, Orlando.

Orlando Guardians at San Antonio Brahmas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Orlando Guardians at San Antonio Brahmas odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Guardians (1-7) and the San Antonio Brahmas (2-6) meet Saturday in a Week 9 matchup. Kickoff from the Alamodome is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Guardians vs. Brahmas odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Guardians are eliminated from the playoff hunt. Despite the worst record in the XFL, the Guardians are not quitting. And Orlando has been one of the more dependable teams at the betting window, going 3-1 against the spread (ATS) across the past 4 games overall.

The Brahmas are still mathematically alive for a postseason spot despite being 4 games under .500 with just 2 games to play. Like Orlando, San Antonio has been dependable for bettors, going 2-1 ATS in the past 3 games. More importantly, the total has gone Under in 6 consecutive outings and 7 of 8 games overall.

San Antonio won the 1st meeting in Week 2 by a 30-12 score, covering a 3.5-point number as the Over (37.5) connected.

Guardians at Brahmas picks and predictions

Prediction

Guardians 25, Brahmas 19

Moneyline

The GUARDIANS (+105) are out of the playoff hunt, but head coach Terrell Buckley’s team has been playing hard down the stretch. Orlando surprised previously unbeaten DC in Week 7, and it played Arlington tough last week. Despite going 1-3 SU, Orlando is 3-1 ATS in the past 4 games, and all 4 games have been decided by one score.

Against the spread

The GUARDIANS +1.5 (-110) are not as good of a value as just taking them straight up on the money line. The ML play is the better option unless you’re dead set on believing the Brahmas -1.5 (-110) will win by just a single point.

Over/Under

OVER 39 (-110) is the lean. Orlando has cashed the Over in 4 of the past 5 games, posting 26.0 PPG across the past 4 outings. The defense has allowed 31.8 PPG across the past 5 games for the Guardians, too.

For the Brahmas, it has been all about the Under, cashing in 6 straight. The lone Over in San Antonio’s 8 games this season was a 30-12 win in Orlando in Week 2.

Roughnecks at Brahmas picks and predictions

Prediction

Roughnecks 23, Brahmas 13

Moneyline

Although Houston has lost 3 straight it should get back on track against a San Antonio team that hasn’t scored more than 15 points in any game. Plus, the Brahmas have not won a game at home this season yet.

But having to bet twice what you can win on the Roughnecks on the moneyline isn’t the best bet here. PASS and look to the spread.

Against the spread

Houston has scored 22 or more points in 5 of 7 games this season and the Roughnecks’ 4 wins have all been by at least 9 points.

Three of the Brahmas’ 5 losses have been by 9 or more points. San Antonio needs its defense to hold off the Roughnecks, because the offense has scored only 9 TDs and hasn’t topped 15 points in a game this season.

BET ROUGHNECKS -5.5 (-105).

Over/Under

Only 3 of Houston’s 7 games have had more than 40 points. Meanwhile, the Brahmas have only had 1 game all season go past 40 total points. Scoring 15 points or less in every game makes that hard to do.

BET UNDER 40.5 (-110).

San Antonio Brahmas at Vegas Vipers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s San Antonio Brahmas at Vegas Vipers Week 7 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The San Antonio Brahmas (2-4) visit the Vegas Vipers (1-5) Saturday in Week 7 XFL action at Cashman Field in Las Vegas. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Brahmas vs. Vipers odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Brahmas look to build on a 15-9 victory last week on the road against the Arlington Renegades. San Antonio’s defense has been solid over the past 3 weekends, allowing an average of just 12.0 points per game (PPG). The Brahmas has allowed 18 or fewer points 5 times in 6 games, cashing the Under at a 5-1 clip.

The Vipers covered the spread in Week 1, but are 0-5 against the spread (ATS) since. Vegas was blasted 29-6 by the visiting St. Louis Battlehawks in Week 6, easily its lowest offensive output of the season. The Under result snapped a 3-0 run to the Over for the Vipers, fuelled in part by their defense allowing 29 or more points in 4 consecutive outings.

Brahmas at Vipers picks and predictions

Prediction

Brahmas 15, Vegas 11

Moneyline

The BRAHMAS (+130) might be forced to turn to recently acquired QB Kurt Benkert to start as Coan is questionable due to an ankle injury. That’s a concern, although Coan is only completing 56.7% of his passes for 667 yards, 5 TD and 4 INT through 5 games.

No matter who is under center for the visitors, the Brahmas rely heavily upon the defense. San Antonio has allowed just 12.0 PPG in the past 3 games and is facing a Vipers team that posted a season-low 6 points last week.

Against the spread

The BRAHMAS +3 (-110) are worth a look if you can’t pull the trigger on betting them straight up.

The Vipers are 0-2 ATS this season as a favorite, and Vegas is 0-5 ATS in the past 5 games overall. Its lone cover came in Week 1 at Arlington, so Vegas is 0-4 ATS in 4 home games, too.

Over/Under

The UNDER 39.5 (-110) is quite high for a game featuring the league’s No. 1 scoring defense. The number is likely a little high because Vegas has allowed 163 points, the 2nd-most in the XFL.

Still, Vegas has managed just 111 total points — the fewest in the North Division — and it will be hard-pressed to solve the San Antonio defense. Only Houston was able to go for more than 18 points against the Brahmas, posting 22 points in Week 3. Go low in this game, and be very confident about it, too.

In Week 6 of the XFL season, The San Antonio Brahmas (1-4) are on the road to face the Arlington Renegades (3-2). Sunday’s kickoff is at 3 p.m. ET at Choctaw Stadium (ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Brahmas vs. Renegades odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The teams met last week in San Antonio, with the Renegades winning 12-10 as Arlington picked off 3 passes and scored their lone TD on a 1-yard De’Veon Smith run with 1:12 left in the third quarter. It was the last points of the game and gave the Renegades the win.

The Brahmas have lost 3 games in a row.

Brahmas at Renegades picks and predictions

Prediction

Renegades 15, Brahmas 11

Moneyline

The Renegades are 2-0 at home and they beat the Brahmas last week on the road. However, they have not scored more than 14 points in a game since their season opener.

The Brahmas have lost 3 straight games and have not scored more than 13 points in that streak. But the value is better on the spread, so PASS on the moneyline.

Against the spread

While I like the Renegades to win, there is still some action worth your time on the spread. The Renegades have not won a game by more than 2 points this season. Only once have the Brahmas lost by fewer than 3 points and that was last week at home in their loss to Arlington.

The Brahmas are down a quarterback and their backup is hobbled.

BET RENEGADES -3 (-105).

Over/Under

The Renegades have not scored more than 14 points since the opener and the Brahmas have scored more than 15 points only once. Their matchup last week had only 22 points.

BET UNDER 32.5 (-105).
