Lakers vs Grizzlies: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets as the Los Angeles Lakers face the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Oct. 24.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 9:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on Spectrum SportsNet or Bally Sports Midwest.

Los Angeles has started the season with an 0-2 record after losses to the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns. Nothing has particularly gone well for L.A. besides LeBron James’ efficiency from the field.

The Memphis Grizzlies aren’t in the same tier as those two teams, but they’re still a young, gritty team that made the playoffs through the play-in tournament last year and should not be taken lightly.

Memphis will be on the second night of a back-to-back after beating the L.A. Clippers to go 2-0, so the Lakers will have the rest advantage.

Lakers at Grizzlies notable injuries:

Lakers: OUT – Trevor Ariza (ankle), Talen Horton-Tucker (thumb), Kendrick Nunn (knee), Wayne Ellington (hamstring)

Grizzlies: OUT – Dillon Brooks (hand)

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Lakers -5.5
  • Money line: Lakers -250 / Grizzlies +200
  • Over-under: 220.5

Advice and prediction

The Grizzlies may be low on rest, but they’re a young team so that might not make too much of a difference. But with the experience L.A. has, L.A. should come away with its first win of the season. Memphis is a solid group, but the Lakers should not lose with the talent on hand.

Take the Lakers -5.5, Lakers -250 and the under 220.5.

Prediction: Lakers 108, Grizzlies 101

The game tips off at 4 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports SE.

Charlotte is riding a two-game win streak to open the season as the Nets got their first victory on Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Pacers at Hornets notable injuries:

For the Hornets, Terry Rozier should be able to start after returning to the lineup on Friday against the Cavaliers.

The Nets don’t haver any injuries to report.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Nets -9.5
  • Money line: Nets -475 / Hornets +340
  • Over-under: 233.5

Advice and prediction

This should be a close game as the Hornets are clicking on offense and the Nets looked to find their groove on Friday. Look for the Hornets to lose this contest but cover the spread in a high-scoring matchup to hit the over.

Celtics at Rockets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Boston lost by 32 on Friday, while Houston won by 33. But with All-Star forward Jayson Tatum leading the way, the Celtics remain road favorites for Sunday’s game.

The Houston Rockets will continue their 2021-22 regular season when Boston visits on Sunday night, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ve got the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 6 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.

Boston enters winless on the season and is coming off Friday’s 32-point thrashing at Toronto. Meanwhile, Houston enters Sunday’s game with momentum after a dominant 33-point win over Oklahoma City.

Yet, led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, there’s a reason why the Celtics were seen by most analysts as a probable playoff team entering the season. Similarly, after finishing with the NBA’s worst record last season, expectations are minimal for the young and rebuilding Rockets. Sunday might be where the pendulum swings back for both teams, or it could perhaps represent the start of an early-season trend.

Celtics at Rockets lineups, notable injuries:

For the Rockets, John Wall (out) is the only name listed on the team’s injury/status report. The five-time All-Star is sitting out as part of a mutually agreed-upon plan not to play this season.

For Boston, Brown is listed as questionable with left patella tendinopathy, which could potentially lead to a very impactful absence.

Projected Lineups

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Celtics -5.5
  • Money line: Rockets +190 / Celtics -240
  • Over-under: 222.5 points

Advice and prediction

Boston has a veteran-laden roster that should be focused after Friday’s blowout loss and looking to make amends. Houston is one of the NBA’s youngest teams, and handling success can be a challenge for young players. We’ll take Tatum and the Celtics to bounce back on Sunday.

Prediction: Celtics 114, Rockets 106

Bulls at Pistons notable injuries:

The Bulls will be without guard Coby White, who is rehabbing his shoulder. The Pistons will be missing No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham, who has yet to play a game for Detroit with a sprained ankle.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Bulls -8.5
  • Money line: Bulls -450 / Pistons +330
  • Over-under: 213.5

Nets vs. Sixers: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our expert prediction and best bet for Friday’s showdown between the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Brooklyn Nets play the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN and YES Network.

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers notable injuries:

Kyrie Irving (out- personal)

Ben Simmons (out – personal)

Joel Embiid (questionable – knee soreness)

Shake Milton (out – ankle)

Grant Riller (out – knee)

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Nets -3.5
  • Money line: Nets -150 / Sixers +122
  • Over-under: 225.5

Advice and prediction

The chemistry is not there for the Nets. To add insult to injury, Nic Claxton’s conditioning is also not where it is supposed to be yet. As the best defender on the team, big responsibilities come with that. If he can go through this game without being too much fatigued, chemistry on the offensive end won’t matter because this all Brooklyn need to leave Wells Fargo Center with a win. Take the points, Sixers +3.5.

Prediction: Nets 106, Sixers 118

Lakers vs. Suns: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks for Oct. 22

The best bets for the Los Angeles Lakers’ second game of the regular season against the Phoenix Suns.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Phoenix Suns on Friday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 10 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN.

Both teams opened the season with a loss. The Lakers lost to the Golden State Warriors, 121-114. The Suns lost to the Denver Nuggets, 110-98.

Suns at Lakers notable injuries:

The Lakers will be without Trevor Ariza (ankle), Talen Horton-Tucker (thumb), Kendrick Nunn (knee) and Wayne Ellington (hamstring).

The Suns won’t have Dario Saric who is still recovering from a torn ACL, and Landry Shamet (foot) is probable.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Lakers -1.5
  • Money line: Lakers -112 / Suns -108
  • Over-under: 221.5

Advice and prediction

Based on how last year’s first-round playoff series went, the Suns solved the Lakers. Phoenix knew who to attack when there were mismatches, where to get the ball on the court, how to pack the paint when LeBron James handled the ball and how to let L.A.’s poor perimeter shooters shoot without closing out. Anthony Davis’ injury exacerbated the issues that were already present.

This year’s roster for L.A. is different, but the offense is still in disarray while the defensive stoutness from last season isn’t the same quality yet. Phoenix also handled the Lakers with ease in the preseason, so since not much has changed, take the Suns +1.5, Suns -108 and the over 221.5.

Prediction: Suns 117, Lakers 109

Bulls at Pistons notable injuries:

The Bulls will be without guard Coby White, who is still rehabbing his shoulder. The Pelicans will be missing Zion Williamson, who continues to rehab his foot injury from the offseason.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Bulls -5.5
  • Money line: Bulls -250 / Pistons +200
  • Over-under: 220.5

Advice and prediction

With as good as Chicago’s defense looked on Wednesday, albeit being against the Pistons, look for that to continue on Friday for the Bulls to win and cover the spread while hitting the slight under.

Charlotte opened up their regular season on Wednesday in a nail-biting victory over the Indiana Pacers, 123-122.

Pacers at Hornets notable injuries:

The Cavs will be without Dylan Windler and Dean Wade for Friday’s contest.

Thunder at Rockets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Stephen Silas and the young Rockets are in a rare position as a betting favorite entering Friday’s home opener versus Oklahoma City.

The Houston Rockets open the home portion of their 2021-22 regular season with Friday’s visit from Oklahoma City, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ve got the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.

At 17-55 and 22-50, respectively, the Rockets and Thunder finished 2021-22 with two of the Western Conference’s three worst records. While both sides added intriguing talent in the 2021 NBA draft, the consensus expectation is that each roster remains too young to make a significant turnaround this season. As such, for both sides, it’s a rare opportunity to enter a game with what they view as a clear path to victory.

Among projected lineups, the most intriguing individual battle could be between Jalen Green and Josh Giddey at shooting guard. Both rookies were taken in the first six picks of the 2021 NBA draft.

Thunder at Rockets notable injuries:

For the Rockets, John Wall (out) is the only name listed on the team’s injury/status report. The five-time All-Star is sitting out as part of a mutually agreed-upon plan not to play this season.

Oklahoma City is not currently listing any injuries.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Rockets -2.5
  • Money line: Thunder +120 / Rockets -145
  • Over-under: 221.5 points

Advice and prediction

The Rockets and Thunder lost by 18 and 21 points in their respective openers, so neither enters with momentum. We’ll take the home team in what should be an energetic environment — with Houston hosting a full-capacity crowd at Toyota Center for the first time since March 2020.

Prediction: Rockets 115, Thunder 109

Clippers vs. Warriors: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Before the Warriors host the Clippers in Chase Center’s home opener, here is all the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

For Chase Center’s home opener, the Warriors will host the Clippers on Thursday, Oct. 21, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck!

We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. PT and can be seen on TNT. For everything else you need to know about the contest, including lineups and injury reports, click here.

While welcoming back a full capacity crowd for the first time since the start of the pandemic, paired with the wave of a spirited comeback win over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors will be coming out firing on all cylinders on Thursday night against the Clippers.

As the bench unit looks to build on another impressive performance led by Nemanja Bjelica, Steph Curry will have the chance to bounce back from a poor shooting night after going 5-for-21 from the field against the Lakers.

With Kawhi Leonard out, the Clippers will need to rely on Paul George to hang with the Warriors at Chase Center on Tuesday.

Clippers at Warriors notable injuries:

  • Jonathan Kuminga – Out – Right Knee
  • Nicolas Batum – Out – Personal Reasons
  • Serge Ibaka – Out – Lower Back
  • Keon Johnson – Out – Illness

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook:

Point spread: Clippers (+3.5) / Warriors (-3.5)

Money line: Clippers (-112) / Warriors (-108)

Over-under: 227.5

Best Bet: Despite a poor shooting night from both squads that ranked in the top-five defensively last season, the Lakers and Warriors still surged past the over of 225.5 on opening night.

On Thursday, Curry will be gunning to get back on track with his shooting in front of a frenzied crowd at Chase Center against the Clippers. In his last appearance at Chase Center during the preseason, Curry dropped 41 points in only 30 minutes against the Portland Trail Blazers. Thursday night could be setting up for another night of fireworks in the Bay Area for Curry.

Adding to the potential over bet, the Clippers could feature multiple small lineups with both Nicolas Batum and Serge Ibaka out for the contest. Thursday’s game will highlight only two true bigs on both sides, between Kevon Looney and Ivica Zubac.

On the way to an appearance in the Western Conference Finals, the Clippers had success while playing small in the playoffs. Both teams could look to play fast and run on Thursday, making the over look like a bet that’s standing out on the ticket for the second game in a row.

Prediction: 119-116 Warriors
