Jazz at Rockets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Houston (1-3) has covered the spread in two of its last three games, but Thursday will be a tougher task against unbeaten Utah (3-0).

Thursday’s game between the Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz is the first meeting this season of the longtime rivals, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We have the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7:00 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.

Led by promising talents such as Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Christian Wood, the young Rockets (1-3) are in the middle of a rough scheduling draw in which they’re facing off with many established NBA heavyweights. Houston is now on the third game of a seven-game stretch in which each opponent made the playoffs last season — and Utah (3-0) is tougher than most, since Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert’s squad finished with the NBA’s best record in the 2020-21 regular season.

The good news for the Rockets is that they were relatively competitive in a pair of 10-point losses to Boston and Dallas to start this run. The bad news is that after Thursday, they begin a five-game road trip on the West coast — which could make this their most viable chance at an upset.

Jazz at Rockets lineups, notable injuries:

For the Rockets, reserve forward Danuel House Jr. is listed as out on the team’s injury report after spraining his right foot during Tuesday’s game at Dallas. As expected, five-time All-Star John Wall is again sitting out as part of a mutually agreed-upon plan not to play this season.

For Utah, Rudy Gay is out as he recovers from a right heel injury. Bojan Bogdanovic and Miye Oni are questionable with non-COVID illnesses, while Eric Paschall is questionable due to a facial infection.

Projected Lineups

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Jazz -8.5
  • Money line: Rockets +330 / Jazz -450
  • Over-under: 220.5 points

Advice and prediction

The Rockets have covered the spread in two of their last three games, and they’re likely to be highly incentivized to seek out a home win against Utah, considering how brutal their upcoming road trip is. In their last two games, they lost by only 10 points to a pair of 2020-21 playoff teams (Boston, Dallas), and the latter was on the road.

Securing a victory over the veteran-laden Jazz might be too much to ask for, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Houston again covers. That could especially be the case if Bogdanovic is unavailable.

Prediction: Jazz 113, Rockets 105

Thunder vs. Lakers: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets as the Los Angeles Lakers finish a two-game road trip against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on Spectrum SportsNet, Bally Sports Oklahoma or Bally Sports Southwest.

Los Angeles (2-2) has won two straight games, most recently an overtime thriller against the San Antonio Spurs Tuesday. However, Anthony Davis had an injury scare in that game, similar to LeBron James’ moment on Sunday, and the status of both isn’t known yet.

The Thunder have lost all four games to start the year. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 30 points in the loss to the Golden State Warriors Tuesday, so both teams are in the second game of a back-to-back.

Lakers at Thunder notable injuries:

Lakers: OUT – Trevor Ariza (ankle), Talen Horton-Tucker (thumb), Kendrick Nunn (knee)

TBD – LeBron James (ankle), Anthony Davis (knee), Wayne Ellington (hamstring but dressed up Tuesday)

Thunder: Derrick Favors missed the last game for rest.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Lakers -6.5
  • Money line: Lakers -270 / Thunder +210
  • Over-under: 216.5

Advice and prediction

This all comes down to whether Davis and James play, even if just one can suit up. If not, there are plenty of questions if Russell Westbrook can carry the burden mainly by himself as the Lakers aren’t cohesive on offense yet. But Oklahoma City is No. 29 in points per game, so it could be a slugfest. Regardless, the Lakers need to collect these wins on lowly opponents because it will matter down the line.

Take the Lakers minus-6.5 (especially if one or both of Davis and James play), Lakers minus-270 and under 216.5.

Prediction: Lakers 106, Thunder 97

Hornets vs. Magic: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets for the game between the Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic for Wednesday’s game.

The Charlotte Hornets play the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports SE.

Charlotte is coming off their first loss of the season against the Boston Celtics in overtime on Monday.

Hornets at Magic notable injuries:

For the Hornets, Terry Rozier is listed as doubtful with a right ankle sprain. P.J. Washington is out with right knee sprain.

The Magic are hobbled to say the least, who will be without five players on Wednesday: Jonathan Issac, Markelle Fultz, Chuma Okeke, Michael Carter-Williams, and E’Twaun Moore.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Hornets -5.5
  • Money line: Hornets -230 / Magic +280
  • Over-under: 219.5

Advice and prediction

After losing their first game of the season on Monday, look for the Hornets to bounce back with the win on Wednesday and cover the spread while hitting the slight under against an unexperienced Magic team.

Prediction: Hornets 115, Magic 103

Warriors vs. Thunder: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our best bets for Tuesday’s Warriors-Thunder game in Oklahoma City, with odds from Tipico Sportsbook.

The Golden State Warriors visit the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 5 p.m. PT and can be seen on NBC Sports Bay Area (GSW) and Bally Sports Oklahoma (OKC).

The Warriors (3-0) have opened the season with wins over the Lakers (by 7), Clippers (by 2) and Kings (by 12). The Thunder (0-3) have losses to the Jazz (by 21), Rockets (by 33) and Sixers (by 12). Unsurprisingly, the Warriors are a big favorite on Tuesday.

Warriors at Thunder notable injuries:

Thunder: Derrick Favors (rest) is out.

Warriors: Klay Thompson (Achilles injury recovery), Jonathan Kuminga (patellar tendon sprain) and James Wiseman (right knee) are all out.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Warriors -9.5
  • Money line: Warriors -520 / Thunder +370
  • Over-under: 223.5

Advice and prediction

The Warriors have yet to blow anyone out this season, but they also have yet to play a team as outmatched as the Thunder. Steph Curry is in MVP form, and the Warriors are expecting Andre Iguodala to return to give them more depth. I’m taking Warriors -9.5, but I also like the over 223.5 here as well. The Warriors have scored at least 115 points in each of their three games this season, and I’d expect them to get into the 120s on Tuesday against a young Thunder team.

Prediction: Warriors 127, Thunder 104

Spurs vs. Lakers: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets for the Los Angeles Lakers’ road match against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on Spectrum SportsNet or Bally Sports Southwest.

Los Angeles (1-2) is coming off its first win of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies thanks to Carmelo Anthony’s 28 points off the bench. However, LeBron James hurt his ankle in that game after an opponent landed on it, so his status is uncertain.

San Antonio (1-2) has lost two in a row to the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks after defeating the Orlando Magic to start the year. Third-year wing Keldon Johnson continues to take a developmental leap, so he’ll be a key player for the Lakers to contain.

Lakers at Spurs notable injuries:

Lakers: OUT – Trevor Ariza (ankle), Talen Horton-Tucker (thumb), Kendrick Nunn (knee), Wayne Ellington (hamstring)

PROBABLE – LeBron James (ankle)

Spurs: OUT – Zach Collins (ankle), Devontae Cacok (not with team)

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Lakers -3.5
  • Money line: Lakers -170 / Spurs +135
  • Over-under: 223.5

Advice and prediction

Three games is a small sample size, but the Spurs are No. 1 in the league in field-goal percentage (48.8%), but No. 26 in 3-point percentage (31.2%). San Antonio isn’t a high-powered offense, but the talent level favors L.A. in this matchup, especially the size. It could be a tight affair since it’s early in the season and teams are figuring themselves and each other out, but the Lakers should take this one.

Take the Lakers minus-3.5, Lakers minus-170 and under 223.5.

Prediction: Lakers 110, Spurs 103

Rockets at Mavs: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Houston has yet to have Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Christian Wood all shooting well in the same game. Could Tuesday be the day?

Tuesday’s game between the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks is the first meeting this season of the in-state rivals, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ve got the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.

The Mavericks are coming off an 8-point win at Toronto on Saturday, while the Rockets lost by 10 to Boston on Sunday. Neither team is on a back-to-back scenario on either end, so key players should be fresh.

Houston is led by a young backcourt of rookie Jalen Green and third-year point guard Kevin Porter Jr., with each hoping to develop into one of the NBA’s elite guards over time. In this one, they’ll match up with Luka Doncic — a superstar talent who has already made that leap.

Rockets at Mavs lineups, notable injuries:

For the Rockets, John Wall (out) is the only name currently listed on the team’s injury/status report. The five-time All-Star is sitting out as part of a mutually agreed-upon plan not to play this season. Similarly, the Mavs also have no injuries to report, according to their game notes.

Projected Lineups

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Mavericks -10.5
  • Money line: Rockets +500 / Mavericks -750
  • Over-under: 221.5 points

Advice and prediction

The Rockets could be a more lively underdog than most think. Porter and Christian Wood were outstanding in Friday’s blowout win over Oklahoma City, but Green struggled with his 3-point shot. Two nights later, Green scored a career-high 30 points and set a Rockets rookie record with eight made 3-pointers (on only 10 attempts), but Wood and Porter shot just 10-of-26 from the field combined (38.5%) against the Celtics.

At some point, Houston should be due for a game in which all three of those big names are efficient on the same night. It still may not be enough to win on the road against a perennial playoff team like the Mavericks, but it could make for a slightly closer game than expected. In addition, Green’s “total points” number of 13.5 is arguably a bit soft due to his cold-shooting start (which isn’t sustainable, as evidenced by Sunday’s showing), so consider betting the over on that prop.

Prediction: Mavericks 112, Rockets 104

Bulls vs. Raptors: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets for the game between the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors on Monday night.

The Chicago Bulls play the Toronto Raptors on Monday and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBCS Chicago.

The Bulls will look to win their fourth-straight game to open the season as the Raptors hope to bounce back from a Saturday night loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Bulls at Pistons notable injuries:

The Bulls will be without guard Coby White, who is rehabbing his shoulder. The Raptors will be without Pascal Siakam, who is coming back from shoulder surgery, and Yuta Watanabe, with an injured calf.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Bulls -2.5
  • Money line: Bulls -140 / Raptors +115
  • Over-under: 212.5

Advice and prediction

The Raptors have struggled to score the ball through their first three games of the season so bank on the Bulls to take the victory and cover the spread while hitting on the under.

Prediction: Bulls 108, Raptors 100

Hornets vs. Celtics: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets for the game between the Charlotte Hornets and Boston Celtics for Monday’s game.

The Charlotte Hornets play the Boston Celtics on Monday and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports SE.

Charlotte is riding a three-game winning streak to start the season after defeating the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, 111-95.

Pacers at Hornets notable injuries:

For the Hornets, Terry Rozier missed Sunday’s game against the Nets so consider him questionable for Monday night’s game.

The Celtics were missing Jaylen Brown on Sunday as well with a knee injury. Romeo Langford missed Sunday’s game as well due to left calf tightness so consider both Brown and Langford as questionable for Monday.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Celtics -1.5
  • Money line: Celtics -112 / Hornets -108
  • Over-under: 223.5

Advice and prediction

The Hornets are clicking on all cylinders while the Celtics have struggled out the gate. Look for the Hornets to win this contest and covering the spread in a competitive matchup to hit the over.

Warriors vs. Kings: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Before the Warriors meet the Kings on Sunday night, here is all the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

After two wins to open the season, the Golden State Warriors will make the short trip to the state capital for a game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, Oct. 24, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck!

We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 6 p.m. PT and can be seen on NBC Sports Bay Area. For everything else you need to know about the contest, including lineups and injury reports, click here.

Warriors at Kings notable injuries:

  • Jonathan Kuminga – Out – Right Knee
  • Andre Iguodala – Out – Hip

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook:

Point spread: Warriors (-3.5) vs. Kings (+3.5)

Money line: Warriors (-155) vs. Kings (-112)

Over-under: 234.5

Best Bet: U / 234.5

After rolling with the over in two games, Sunday’s contest feels like it could trend towards the under.

While the Warriors’ offense will ride with Steph Curry, the Kings will send a flurry of solid defensive guards at the two-time Most Valuable Player. De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton and rookie Davion Mitchell will all try to stick with Curry closely.

When Mitchell is on the floor, he will be tasked with picking up Curry for the full 94 feet. While leading Baylor to the national championship last season, Mitchell was named the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. Although it’s unlikely Curry is kept quiet, it will be a top priority for the Kings on Sunday night.

Behind Curry, Jordan Poole will charge Golden State’s offense. However, he’s coming off a shaky performance against the Clippers, scoring nine points on 4-of-14 shooting from the field.

Regardless of what the Kings defense send at Curry and Poole, over 234.5 is still a high mark for the Warriors. Through two games, the Warriors haven’t surpassed that mark yet. Between a pair of teams that should be familiar with each other, under 234.5 feels like the way to lean on the ticket.

Prediction: 109-104 Warriors

Nets vs Hornets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Come find out who you should bet on for this matchup.

The Brooklyn Nets play the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 4:00 p.m. and can be seen on YES Network.

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets notable injuries:

Terry Rozer (ankle)

Kyrie Irving (personal)

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Nets -9.5
  • Money line: Nets -450 / Hornets +330
  • Over-under: 233.5

Advice and prediction

An inspiring late run got the Nets their first win on Friday versus an Eastern Conference powerhouse. With the stage set against a young Hornets team, things will come a bit easier for Brooklyn. Nevertheless, Charlotte won’t have enough talent or experience to keep up with the Nets in the contest.

Prediction: Nets 119, Hornets 102
