Trail Blazers at Rockets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Houston lost to Detroit from a rare favored position. On Friday, they’re back to an underdog role (+6.5) versus Damian Lillard and Portland.

Friday’s game between Portland and Houston features one of the NBA’s top backcourts of the present (Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum) facing off against a guard duo that hopes to be one of the best backcourts of the future (Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr.). We have the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as all the information you need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7:00 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass. For the host Rockets, Friday also marks the debut of their new 2021-22 City uniforms and a custom blue court at Toyota Center to match.

The Rockets (1-10) enter Friday badly needing a win, having lost their last nine games. For Portland (5-7), a road game at lowly Houston presents a chance to snap their own two-game slide, as they look to convince Lillard that they can win at a high-enough level for him to stay put.

Trail Blazers at Rockets notable injuries:

Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. (left thigh contusion) is probable. Considering that he played through the issue on Wednesday versus Detroit, it would be a surprise if Friday brings a different outcome. John Wall remains out due to a mutual decision for him not to play, with Houston prioritizing minutes for the development of younger players. Rookie big Alperen Sengun returns after missing one game due to illness.

Portland’s injury report lists Norman Powell as questionable due to a left quad strain. Like Porter, he played in his team’s most recent game.

Projected Lineups

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Blazers -6.5
  • Money line: Rockets +205 / Blazers -260
  • Over-under: 222.5

Advice and prediction

The rebuilding Rockets were a rare favorite in their last game versus Detroit, and they underwhelmed in an 8-point home loss. Before that game, however, they fared well as an underdog with three competitive road losses (two by 1 and 2 points) versus the Lakers, Suns, and Nuggets.

It would be a surprise if Lillard can’t drag the Blazers across the finish line, but we’re betting on the Rockets to make amends for Wednesday’s poor showing and at least make it interesting for the final minutes.

Prediction: Blazers 114, Rockets 110

Warriors vs. Bulls: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our best bet for Friday’s Warriors-Bulls game, with odds from Tipico Sportsbook.

The Golden State Warriors will put their winning streak on the line at home Friday night against DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. PT and can be seen on ESPN.

The Warriors have the best record in the NBA at 10-1, have won six in a row, and now face a short-handed Bulls team that just lost Nikola Vucevic to health and safety protocols. Even so, an 8-3 Bulls team should provide the Warriors with a tough test at the Chase Center.

Bulls at Warriors notable injuries:

Chicago: Zach LaVine (thumb sprain) is available. Nikola Vucevic (health and safety protocol), Coby White (left shoulder injury management), Patrick Williams (left wrist ligament tear) are out.

Golden State: Draymond Green (right thigh contusion) and Damion Lee (left hip soreness) are questionable. Klay Thompson (Achilles injury management) and James Wiseman (right knee injury management) are out.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook (place your bet here)

  • Point spread: Warriors -5.5
  • Money line: Warriors -230 / Bulls +180
  • Over-under: 221.5

Advice and prediction

Friday’s Bulls-Warriors game is a meeting of two of the top defenses in the NBA, and two of the best teams against the spread early in the season. Chicago has gone 8-3 ATS, trailing only the Cavaliers, while the Warriors are close behind at 7-3-1.

The Warriors have sailed past the point total in their last three games, but those were against bottom-tier defenses. The Bulls rank sixth in the league in defensive rating, and the Warriors still have the top rated defense in the league. The Bulls also play at a much slower pace, which should help limit scoring here. I like the Warriors to win in a close one, but I’m taking the under 221.5 here.

Prediction: Warriors 109, Bulls 105

The Bulls are coming off a 117-107 victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.

Bulls at Warriors notable injuries:

For the Bulls, they will be without Nikola Vucevic, who entered the league’s health and safety protocol on Thursday. They’ll also be without Coby White, who continues to rehab his shoulder.

For the Warriors, they’ll be missing James Wiseman, who continues to rehab his knee and Damion Lee, who is out with a hip injury.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Warriors -5.5
  • Money line: Warriors -230 / Bulls +180
  • Over-under: 221.5

Advice and prediction

Though they’ll be without Nikola Vucevic, look for the Bulls to give the Warriors their second loss of the season as Chicago covers the spread and hit the under.

Prediction: Bulls 111, Warriors 108

Hornets vs. Knicks: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets for the game between the Charlotte Hornets and New York Knicks for Friday’s game.

The Charlotte Hornets play the New York Knicks on Friday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBCS Chicago.

The Hornets are coming off a 118-108 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies, which ended a five-game losing streak.

Knicks at Hornets notable injuries:

For the Hornets, P.J. Washington remains out with a left elbow hyperextension.

For the Knicks, Nerlens Noel is out with a knee injury.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Knicks -1.5
  • Money line: Knicks -125 / Hornets +102
  • Over-under: 222.5

Advice and prediction

The Knicks are coming off a double-digit loss against the Bucks while the Hornets defeated the Grizzlies on Wednesday. The Hornets found a groove on Wednesday as they snapped their five-game losing streak, so look for Charlotte to win as they cover the spread and hit the under.

Prediction: Hornets 111, Knicks 106

Lakers vs. Heat: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The betting information you need to know from the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Miami Heat on Wednesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 10:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN, Spectrum SportsNet and Bally Sports Sun.

Los Angeles (6-5) is back over .500 after winning its last game against the Charlotte Hornets, but the Miami Heat will be arguably the best team L.A. has played so far this season.

Miami (7-3) is first in the Eastern Conference and is especially strong on the defensive side. Miami is tied second in the NBA in points allowed, first in field goal percentage allowed and fourth in 3-point percentage allowed. Los Angeles has been shaky without LeBron James, so this will be a tough test.

Heat at Lakers notable injuries:

Lakers: OUT – LeBron James, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, Trevor Ariza; Questionable – Austin Reaves, Rajon Rondo; Probable – Anthony Davis

Heat: OUT – Markieff Morris, Victor Oladipo; Questionable – Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, P.J. Tucker; Probable – Max Strus, Caleb Martin

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Heat -4.5
  • Money line: Heat -190 / Lakers +155
  • Over-under: 213.5

Advice and prediction

It’s difficult to see the Lakers overcome the missing talent to topple the Heat in this one. Russell Westbrook has struggled mightily the last few games, and that likely won’t change against Miami’s stingy, smart defense. The Lakers will have to be flawless to win, but it’s still too early for this unit to have that game against an opponent of this caliber.

Take the Heat minus-4.5, Heat minus-190 and the under 213.5.

Prediction: Heat 107, Lakers 97

Thunder vs. Pelicans: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

New Orleans is favored to beat the Thunder, but Oklahoma City has a good chance to beat the one-win Pelicans.

The Oklahoma City Thunder play the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. Central Time and can be seen on Bally Sports Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City, now with a record of 3-6, is coming of consecutive wins and two days of rest. Meanwhile, the Pelicans are 1-10 and may be the worst team in the league, particularly with injuries to their two stars.

Thunder vs. Pelicans notable injuries:

Brandon Ingram is questionable for New Orleans with a hip injury, and Zion Williamson remains out with a long-term injury.

Thunder rookie point guard Tre Mann is considered day-to-day with a nose injury but has no new designation as of Wednesday morning.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Thunder +4.5
  • Money line: Pelicans -190/Thunder +155
  • Over-under: 211.5

Advice and prediction

The following comes with the assumption that Brandon Ingram will not play:

I thought the Thunder would be favored this game. As such, this may be the first game I would encourage bettors to put money on them winning. If you’re not confident betting on a Thunder win, which is understandable, I think covering the spread would still be safe.

The Pelicans haven’t scored more than 100 points since October. Their roster is similarly young like the Thunder and, with international play considered, perhaps less experienced. Over the last six games, all losses, they have been outscored by 15 points, on average.

One caution, though: The Thunder trailed by double-digits in all three of their wins. The comebacks — specifically the ones against the Lakers — may have come in part from disrespect from opponents assuming they were the better team. The Pelicans can make no such claim to being better and, as the home team, will have their audience in the stands for a game they should feel relatively confident about winning.

I wouldn’t bet your paycheck on the Thunder winning, but this is the first game in which I like their chances. Even if Ingram does play, I could absolutely see Oklahoma City pulling off the win, or at least covering the spread (which would be heightened if Ingram is ruled active). With two days off since the last game, Oklahoma City has had more than enough time to prepare and try to rectify the poor first quarters that have gotten the team into so many holes this season.

Prediction: Thunder 107, Pelicans 99

Lakers vs. Hornets: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The betting information you need to know from the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 10:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBA TV, Spectrum SportsNet and Bally Sports South/Southeast.

Los Angeles (5-5) has fallen apart in the last two games and doesn’t resemble a squad that has title aspirations. LeBron James needs to be healthy for this team to have a shot, otherwise, the offense is too chaotic and the defense non-existent. Anthony Davis’ status for the game is also up in the air.

The Hornets (5-6) had a blistering start to the season led by LaMelo Ball’s explosion paired with Miles Bridges’ emergence, but the momentum has stalled lately. Charlotte allowed a 22-0 run last night to the L.A. Clippers in the final minutes and lost.

Hornets at Lakers notable injuries:

Lakers: OUT – LeBron James (abdominal), Trevor Ariza (ankle), Kendrick Nunn (knee), Talen Horton-Tucker (thumb); Questionable – Anthony Davis (thumb, illness)

Hornets: The Hornets have yet to submit an official injury report, but PJ Washington is day-to-day.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Lakers -1.5
  • Money line: Lakers -125 / Hornets +102
  • Over-under: 227.5

Advice and prediction

Unsurprisingly, the point spread is narrow because this game can swing either way, depending on which squad shows up. The Hornets are second in the NBA in points per game (113.5) and 3-point percentage (38%), but Charlotte is last in points allowed at 117.6. The Sacramento Kings recently poured 140 points on them, so that could inflate the number.

Still, this game should be relatively close if Davis can play, but it might get ugly for L.A. if he cannot. The Russell Westbrook experience has been just as advertised thus far, and he has yet to be consistent to prove he can shoulder the offensive load.

Take the Hornets plus-1.5, Hornets plus-102 and the under 227.5.

Prediction: Hornets 115, Lakers 105

For the Nets, they’ll be missing James Johnson, who is out with a knee injury, and Nic Claxton, who is out with an illness.

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook

  • Point spread: Bulls -1.5
  • Money line: Bulls -120 / Nets +100
  • Over-under: 215.5

Advice and prediction

The Bulls have had a tough stretch of games as they’ve lost two straight to the 76ers. It doesn’t get any easier as the Nets come to town on Monday. Look for the Bulls to bounce back against the Nets by covering the spread and hitting the over.
