Ranking SEC quarterbacks after Week 1

SEC QB rankings following Week 1: Stetson on the rise.

The reigning Heisman winner, Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, appears ready to repeat as the recipient of college football’s most coveted award this season. And after a 6 touchdown performance that included 100 rushing yards, he’s the frontrunner for the award again this season.

But the Southeastern Conference has no shortage of elite talent at the quarterback position that will give Young a challenge every week.

There’s Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, a player very few considered one of the top passers in the SEC this season. The reigning national champ had a stellar game, helping UGA’s offense score 49 points against No. 11 Oregon. Don’t forget Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson, who torched Utah through the air and on the ground in an upset win for the Gators. Hendon Hooker of Tennessee looked like he’s ready for a big year with a nice performance in Week 1. Same goes for Mississippi State’s Will Rogers and Arkansas‘ KJ Jefferson, who both put up big stats over the weekend.

We ranked every SEC quarterback following their Week 1 performance.

Updated Heisman Trophy contenders after Week 1 of college football

A look at college football’s top Heisman contenders after Week 1:

After an exciting Week 1 of college football we are taking a look at the updated Heisman Trophy odds for the 2022 season.

With last year’s winner Bryce Young and picking up where he left, the Alabama quarterback looks to be in good shape to repeat as the recipient after a six touchdown performance against Utah State.

There’s Ohio State’s CJ Stroud, who guided his team to victory in a top-five battle against Notre Dame. There’s also Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, a player nobody was considering for the award this past offseason. But the reigning national champ had a stellar game, helping UGA’s offense score 49 points against No. 11 Oregon. And we cannot forget Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson, who torched Utah through the air and on the ground in an upset win for the Gators.

If you’re looking to do some betting research on this year’s Heisman winner, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest odds, as well as the stats you’ll need to make the smartest bet at Tipico Sportsbook.

Heisman Trophy Odds: Anthony Richardson among top candidates, per Tipico

The bookmakers are feeling bullish about Florida’s star quarterback, including our sponsor Tipico.

Florida football’s star quarterback [autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag] dazzled the nation last weekend as he put up a [autotag]Tim Tebow[/autotag]-esque performance in the Swamp to open the 2022 season. Traditionally, the Gators have faced a cupcake team to start the schedule, but this year they opened up against a Utah Utes who were ranked in the top 10 as well as the reigning Pac-12 champs coming into Gainesville.

The redshirt sophomore’s performance electrified the crowd in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium while also profoundly affecting both the national media’s and the bookmakers’ outlook on the talented student-athlete. Among those was our betting partner, the Tipico Sportsbook, which has Richarson among the leaders in the betting odds for the storied Heisman Trophy after Week 1.

Take a look below at the top nine candidates for the Heisman Trophy this season and their odds, according to the Tipico Sportsbook at the time of publication.

Get all the latest information before game day!

The Nebraska Cornhuskers play the Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday, Sept. 10, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at Tipico Sportsbook.

The game starts at 6:30 p.m. Central time and can be seen on Fox Sports 1.

The Cornhuskers and the Eagles are squaring off for the first time ever. Georgia Southern is a member of the Sun Belt Conference after making the jump from FCS to FBS in 2014.

Last week, the Huskers were knotted up at 17 against North Dakota, an FCS member, before reeling off 21 straight points in the second half for a victory. Running back Anthony Grant helped solidify his status in the backfield with 23 carries for 189 yards and two touchdowns, earning Co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts. Fellow tailback Ajay Allen tallied 60 yards and 11 carries and a score. The Huskers have played Sun Belt opponents 17 times and won 15 of those games.

In their first game under new head coach Clay Helton, Georgia Southern won in convincing fashion over Morgan St., 59-7. The Eagles put up over 500 yards of offense. Last season, Georgia Southern went 3-9 and the program is 0-2 all-time against Big Ten foes.

Florida vs. Kentucky: Tipico’s Wednesday betting odds for Week 2 matchup

Here are the betting odds for this Saturday’s matchup as we reach the midpoint of the week.

We are halfway through the week as Florida football prepares to defend its home turf against its first SEC foe of the 2022 campaign, the Kentucky Wildcats. Coming off an epic win over a top-10 team in the Utah Utes, confidence in the team is sky-high heading into the second game of the season.

After a stretch of 31-straight wins for the Orange and Blue, the Gators and ‘Cats have split the last four meetings, with UK prevailing last year in Lexington in a game that likely started Dan Mullen’s snowballing descent from grace. Coming off that loss, Florida looks to even the score on its home turf Saturday.

Take a look below at how the Tipico Sportsbook sees things in this midweek betting odds update.

Florida vs. Kentucky: Tipico’s Tuesday betting odds for Week 2 matchup

Here are the betting odds for this Saturday’s matchup as we inch a day closer to game day.

Florida football is one day closer to its next game on the 2022 schedule after an upset win to open the season against the Utah Utes at home. Next up for the Gators are the Kentucky Wildcats, who scored a road win last season in what was an early stumble that helped lead to Dan Mullen’s demise.

At one point in this 72-game series, Florida had won 31-straight games and featured the legendary Chris Doering catch in 1993. However, the ‘Cats have leveled the playing field over the past few years, splitting the last four meetings between the two schools including a win in Gainesville back in 2018 that ended the win streak.

Coming off that loss in Lexington last season, Florida looks to even the score on its home turf Saturday. Take a look below at how the Tipico Sportsbook sees things with a few days still ahead.

College football Week 1 Monday best bets

College football Week 1 @tipico Monday best bets

If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We are diving into our favorite picks against the spread for this Saturday, but if you are looking for more information or to place a bet check out Tipico Sportsbook.

After an exciting 3-1 Friday night, we went a whopping 4-0 on Saturday and even placed some cash on the midnight game, which was a win, but we came back down to Earth yesterday as LSU lost outright as a 3.5-point favorite. We are currently sitting at 11-7!

I am in a good mood, but I am not exactly stoked about how large this line is at 23.5, but the Clemson Tigers are 23.5 favorites over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. I am placing money on Clemson. They had a horrible 2021 season but will be looking for revenge in 2022 and it starts today.

We are definitely not getting any closing line value as the line opened at 22 points, but I am willing to risk the difference as it is not moving through any key numbers. Give me the Tigers!

Arkansas State Red Wolves vs. Ohio State Buckeyes: opening spread

Arkansas State Red Wolves vs. Ohio State Buckeyes: @tipico opening spread #GoBucks

On September 10, the Ohio State Buckeyes (1-0) will kick off their second game against the Arkansas State Red Wolves (1-0) at noon in Columbus, Ohio. This matchup will be interesting because it will be the first-ever meeting between these two programs.

Our friends at Tipico, our official odds provider currently have Ohio State c listed as a mighty large 44.5-point favorite with the total point total sitting at 68.5. Despite this being the very first meeting between these two programs, Ohio State is 2-0 straight-up, but 0-2 against the spread when facing teams from the Sun Belt.

The Buckeyes previously played the Troy Trojans in 2008 and won 28-10, but did not beat the 20-point spread. In 2004, Ohio State played the Marshall Thundering Herd in 2004 and squeaked out a 24-21 victory, when the spread was 16 points.

Ohio State is a healthy 13-0 against non-power five opponents, since 2015, but a slightly shocking 7-6 against the spread.
