SPECIAL DELIVERY: Adidas x Legos is the amazing collab we didn’t know we needed

These sneakers are made with real Lego.

No one would ever think Adidas and Lego would work together.

There’s no real synergy there. The two sides don’t really have too much in common. They have no history together and they’ve never worked together before.

But in 2021, it’s pretty clear the two sides are a pretty solid match for one another after they dropped their fourth sneaker together.

This time it’s a Lego-fied take on the Adidas Superstar and it’s absolutely amazing. The details on this shoe are just incredible. It’s literally a Superstar made partially out of Legos.

And as random as it seems, this is a pretty brilliant collab. We unboxed them on this weeks episode of Special Delivery and talked about why.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Why Bad Bunny’s new Forum is the best collab Adidas has right now

The Bad Bunny Forum is here and it’s incredible

Besides anything Yeezy, of course, Bad Bunny’s brand new Adidas Forum is the best collaboration it has on tap right now.

It’s come in three iterations so far — a coffee flavored colorway, a triple-pink colorway and, now, a triple black ensemble. In each of them, the details ring off in unique ways that make the shoes pop.

And that’s what make them so special. It’s not the colors — it’s the creativity. It’s the differentiation between the OG Forum and this special project put together for Bad Bunny. Yes, this is a classic Adidas silhouette. But you can also look at it and tell that it’s Bad Bunny’s shoe.

That’s what Adidas has been missing from so many of its collaborations over the last few years and that’s what they need to get back to.

Sykes and crew talk about it on the latest episode of Special Delivery.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Adidas has a 4D problem and here’s why

Adidas might have a real issue on their hands.

When Adidas first introduced the public to their new 4D soles, they marketed them based on their novelty and efficiency.

This was new technology that was the next advancement in sneakers. It was bold. Comfortable, yet sturdy. And, most importantly, it was sustainable as a 3D-printed sole. And, initially, the hype was real.

But that’s long in the rearview mirror now. And 4D hasn’t had nearly as much fanfare around it as Adidas more comfortable boost alternative has. And, as a result, we see some 4D units struggling to move off of online and real-life shelves.

That’s exactly what happened with Packer’s and Adidas’ latest Ultra 4D collab. This is an absolutely stunning shoe. The colors are perfect. The 4D sole gives it great accent.

But…it didn’t sell out on release day despite its looks and its hype. The Special Delivery crew explores why on the latest episode where Sykes dives into Packer and the issue he sees with Adidas’ 4D soles.

You won’t want to miss this one.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Is Converse’s brand new Weapon CX the right way to retro a sneaker?

The Converse Weapon is back…sort of.

The Weapon 86 is an absolute classic shoe. That shoe has a big history within the game of basketball and in the sneaker world overall.

So one would think that bringing the Converse Weapon back in its original form — or as close as it can possibly get to it — would make a ton of sense. Especially with vintage basketball kicks being en vouge the way they are.

That’s not exactly what happened with the Weapon CX. Yes, this is the Converse Weapon. But it’s a far cry from the original form.

It’s not a retro. It’s a remaster. We explore what makes it so different from the OG and whether this was the right way to bring back the weapon on the latest episode of SPECIAL DELIVERY.

Enjoy.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Is New Balance and Bodega’s ‘Anniversary’ 990v3 a brick?

What is a brick, anyway?

What is a brick, anyway? That’s what the crew set out to figure out on the latest episode of Special Delivery.

Sykes and company ask themselves some important questions about New Balance and Bodega’s “Anniversary” 990v3 New Balance shoes. The shoes dropped from Bodega and sold out almost instantaneously.

But…people are still calling them bricks which, in sneakerhead language, means they’re bad.

But are these shoes bad? Or did they serve the exact purpose they were supposed to? And why do people think they’re bad in the first place?

All of those questions and more are answered in the latest episode of Special Delivery. Tap in.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: This Rugrats x PUMA collab is 90’s nostalgia wrapped in a sneaker

This shoe really takes you back in time.

PUMA’s new Rugrats Court Rider isn’t just a shoe — it’s a quick trip back down memory lane for anybody who was ever a fan of the Rugrats and Nickelodeon in the 90’s. From the shoe’s color choices to the box and packaging, it’s a reflection of that time.

This is a pretty weird collaboration — one that we wouldn’t normally see on a sneaker. It’s PUMA taking a cartoon that people love and just plastering it all over a shoe.

On the surface, it doesn’t make much sense. But nostalgia sells. And that’s exactly what PUMA is betting will make these work.

Sykes and the SPECIAL DELIVERY crew explore that strategy while they gush over everything Rugrats in the latest episode of SD.

Enjoy.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: These brand new Nike shoes really look like a PlayStation 5

This is the PlayStation 5 in sneaker form.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxjnPPyOLD8

Nike and Sony seem like an odd couple, but they actually have a pretty long history of working together.

It all starts with the PlayStation Air Force 1 that dropped in 2006. And through those 15 years, they’ve dropped a number of collaborations together on a few different silhouettes.

The latest one is the PlayStation PG5 of Paul George’s signature shoe line and the details on this thing are incredible.

It truly looks like a PlayStation 5 in sneaker form with colors and details matching a few exactly off of the system and its Dualsense controller. There’s a reason for that, though.

Sony actually gave Nike a sneak peek on what the PS5 looked like before anyone else saw it so they could build this shoe. The story is absolutely incredible.

Sykes and the crew dig into it as they unbox this masterpiece on the latest episode of Special Delivery. Tap in.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: How did the year 2020 inspire this new Adidas x Nice Kicks collab?

“Have a nice day.”

2020 was one of the worst years ever. This was the year that the COVID-19 pandemic that kept us in the house and away from all of our loved ones began.

For so many of us, just having good moments throughout the pandemic has been hard. It’s been difficult to get up and get fresh air. It’s been mostly worry, and for good reason.

The new Nice Kicks x Adidas “Have a Nice Day” Ultra 4D  that the Special Delivery crew unboxes in the video above is here to remind us that having good moments amid this chaos is still possible. And not only is it possible, but it’s also necessary.

Go and have a nice day. You deserve it.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Exploring Nike’s big switch on the Air Max with the brand new Pre-Day

This is the next evolution for the Air Max.

Nike’s Air Max line has been its lifeblood for more than three decades now. Since the Air Max 1 dropped in 1987, it’s been one of the most popular silhouettes the brand has to offer and has also continued to evolve.

The latest evolution in the line, though, is unlike anything we’ve ever seen from it before. Nike’s brand new Air Max Pre-Day breaks the mold.

Typically with any Air Max joint, you’ll get a big shoe with a lot of tech in it. But the Pre-Day is simple. It’s reductive. It’s a completely different direction and it does this on purpose.

We explore why Nike made the big switch with this shoe and why it’s a good thing they did on this latest episode of Special Delivery. Don’t miss it.
