Panthers won’t hold training camp at Wofford College this year

Instead, Carolina’s training camp will be held at the team’s official facilities in Charlotte.

The NFL has told teams they are not allowed to travel to alternate sites for their training camps this year due to the pandemic.

That means the Panthers will not be holding their camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC like usual. Instead, Carolina’s training camp will be held at the team’s facilities in Charlotte. Team spokesman Steven Drummond says they are looking forward to returning to Wofford in 2021, per Myles Simmons at the official team website.

“We are aware of the league’s decision regarding training camp and support its goal of ensuring the safety of fans, players, coaches and staff. . . We value our longstanding relationship with Wofford College and the Spartanburg area and look forward to returning in 2021.”

There are no dates, times or other details as of yet, but given the COVID-19 situation we can pretty much be certain that fans will not be allowed to attend camp.

Watch helpless high schoolers try to guard a young Zion Williamson

These kids had no chance.

I imagine that lining up against Zion Williamson on a basketball court must be absolutely terrifying. Even high school Zion.

It feels like dude has been 6’8, 285 since birth. I have never NOT seen him dunking all up and down a basketball court and just straight up moving dudes out of the way like they were his nerdy little brothers.

That’s why the video of this eager beaver getting himself ready to guard Zion is so incredibly confusing to me. It seems like this kid wanted these problems all those years ago.

He’s literally walking up to Williamson — while only coming to his shoulder — and clapping in his face trying to guard him.

Williamson, of course, IMMEDIATELY draws a foul with absolutely no effort at all.

My mind was going every which way watching this thing. At first, I’m like “Okay, respect. This kid is up for a challenge and you’ve got to love that.”

And then I looked at the height difference riiiiight aboooout here:

And immediately decided that this kid might be in a bit of trouble. When Zion gave him the “Who’s mans?” look, it was a wrap.

In doing a bit of research on the team that Williamson was playing against, I realized that this was Greenwood Christian. I also realized that Williamson had a game against Greenwood Christian where he scored 45 points and grabbed 20 rebounds  in an 87-15 win over the Knights..

If that’s the same game? Hoo boy, this shows us a bit of what it’s like to get on Zion’s bad side. Pro-tip: Don’t do it if you want to win the game.
