UFC 285 video: Ian Machado Garry swarms Song Kenan for late finish, celebrates Conor McGregor-style

Following his win at UFC 285, Ian Machado Garry paid tribute to Conor McGregor when he broken out the “billi strut” celebration.

[autotag]Ian Machado Garry[/autotag] still has a zero in the loss column.

Saturday at UFC 285, Garry (11-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) added another win to his record when he defeated [autotag]Song Kenan[/autotag] (19-7 MMA, 3-4 UFC) by TKO at 4:22 of Round 3. The middleweight bout was part of the preliminary card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Garry’s win did not come without adversity. He was dropped by a clean left hook in Round 1 but survived Kenan’s follow-up swarm. Rounds 2 and 3 were clinical as Garry mounted offense until Kenan could no longer take it.

Following the TKO stoppage, Garry paid tribute to his fellow Irishman Conor McGregor when he broke out the “billi strut” celebration. McGregor tipped his cap to Garry shortly thereafter on Twitter.

Up-to-the-minute UFC 285 results include:

  • Ian Garry def. Song Kenan via TKO (punches) – Round 3, 4:22
  • Cameron Saaiman def. Mana Martinez via unanimous decision (29-26, 28-27, 28-28)
  • Tabatha Ricci def. Jessica Penne via submission (armbar) – Round 2, 2:14.
  • Farid Basharat def. Da’Mon Blackshear unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
  • Loik Radzhabov def. Esteban Ribovics unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Garry (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) takes on [autotag]Song Kenan[/autotag] (18-6 MMA, 4-2 UFC) at UFC 285 on March 4 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “The Future” wanted Bryan Barberena, who defeated his Kill Cliff FC teammate Robbie Lawler at UFC 276, but wound up drawing Kenan instead.

“Everyone knows I want Barberena – I’m not getting him…Yet. I’m taking out Kennan Song first. Here’s real life footage of my conversation with Sean Shelby… See you March 4th.”

Unbeaten in his professional MMA career, Garry is 3-0 in the octagon. After a debut knockout win over Jordan Williams, Garry scored back-to-back decision wins over Darrian Weeks at UFC 273 and Gabriel Green at UFC 276.
