Nickelodeon is breaking out the slime for Broncos vs. Rams on Christmas Day

The Rams will host the Broncos in a “slime-time” matchup on Nickelodeon.

In addition to being nationally televised on CBS, the Denver Broncos’ showdown with the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas Day will also air on Nickelodeon.

The game will feature Nick’s signature slime and plenty of animations added to players, fans, the field and just about everything else.

For the Win‘s Mary Clarke had this to say about Nick’s slime-time playoff game last season:

The biggest draw of the Nickelodeon broadcast is the wildly wacky graphics used to make it more visually appealing to kids. Specifically, the use of Nickelodeon’s famous neon green slime is featured in some form nearly every few minutes. …

Sure, the Nickelodeon broadcast may be cheesy — and filled with lots of slime — but it’s adorable fun at the end of the day. And really, isn’t that what we want out of our sports?

Here are some highlights from Nickelodeon’s game last year:

Sunday’s game will begin at 2:30 p.m. MT on CBS/Nickelodeon.

The NFL on Nickelodeon broadcast is back for Cowboys-49ers with more slime than ever

Bring in the slime!!!

Amidst the NFL’s wild card weekend, football fans were treated to yet another wonderfully wholesome — and absolutely slime-filled — Nickelodeon broadcast.

Much like last year, Nickelodeon is airing a version of Sunday’s San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys NFC wild card matchup with the intention to appeal to the younger audience. Of course, much like the first broadcast, it’s also attracting the attention of the millennial crowd which grew up on Nickelodeon, if Twitter is any indication anyway.

The biggest draw of the Nickelodeon broadcast is the wildly wacky graphics used to make it more visually appealing to kids. Specifically, the use of Nickelodeon’s famous neon green slime is featured in some form nearly every few minutes.

Seriously! For starters, the broadcast dumped CGI slime all over the field right before kickoff.

And gave us this huge slime monster!

Of course, when the 49ers gave us the first touchdown of the game early, fans were treated to a slime zone touchdown celebration.

Even field goals got the slime zone treatment, with a hilarious cameo from SpongeBob SquarePants too.

Sure, the Nickelodeon broadcast may be cheesy — and filled with lots of slime — but it’s adorable fun at the end of the day. And really, isn’t that what we want out of our sports?

WATCH: True to his word, Sean Payton tanks a bucket of Nickelodeon slime

New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton pledged to get slimed by Nickelodeon if his team beat the Chicago Bears, and he stayed true to his word

[jwplayer YnrFiHUy-ThvAeFxT]

With the news that Nickelodeon would be broadcasting its first NFL playoff game this week, New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton pledged to “get slimed, whatever that means” during a press conference days before kickoff with the Chicago Bears. And while he initially lost sight of that item on his checklist in the minutes after eliminating Chicago, Payton doubled down in his postgame press conference, promising to try it out after finishing his media obligations.

Unlike his players — who were doused with computer-generated slime by the broadcast crew during their game — Payton was hit with the full thing, taking a bucket full of green goo on the chin.

Hey, he deserves props for it. There aren’t many better motivators around the NFL than Payton, and this is just more proof of it. Maybe he can keep that good energy going into next week’s rematch with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Just, without as much slime.

The accompanying footage shows why anglers should not stand too close to other anglers as they’re hauling barracuda over the rails.

Phil Friedman, a well-known figure in the Southern California angling community, was capturing video with his phone earlier this week as his son, Patrick, announced that he was about to bounce a barracuda onto the deck.

As viewers can see, the barracuda is flung directly into the face – and camera lens – of the elder Friedman.

“Is this any way to treat your father?” Phil joked in the video description, which shows the episode in regular and slow motion. The video title: “Phil Friedman gets a barracuda right to the kisser.”

Barracuda boast extremely sharp teeth and sport a thick coat of slime. Phil was not injured, but told For The Win Outdoors that he spent several minutes in the galley trying to remove slime from his phone.

His sons, Patrick and Philip Jr., founded Bass Bros Fishing and frequently post about their adventures via Instagram and YouTube.
