Warriors’ Steph Curry reacts to brother Seth’s game six performance during Sixers vs. Hawks

After Seth Curry tallied 24 points for the 76ers in game six against the Hawks, his brother Steph chimed in on social media with a reaction.

Although Steph Curry’s red-hot 2020-21 campaign is over, another member of the Curry family is on the floor during the postseason. Through the Philadelphia 76ers’ run through the Eastern Conference playoffs, Seth Curry has played a key role.

Through five games in the second round against the Atlanta Hawks, Curry has notched double-figure scoring numbers in each contest, including a 36 point explosion in game five. With the Hawks holding a 3-2 advantage in the series, the Sixers would need to lean on Curry again in game six on the road.

The Duke product answered the bell, notching 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor with three boards, two assists and a steal. Curry got red-hot from long distance, drilling six triples on nine attempts from beyond the arc.

Along with Curry’s 24 points, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris each tallied 22 or more points to force a game seven against the Hawks back in Philadelphia.

Following Curry’s electric run in game six, his brother responded on social media. The Warriors point guard took to Twitter with a simple message for his younger brother.

Luka Doncic just threw a wrench in Tobias Harris’ and Boban Marjanovic’s friendship

Wow. Is the friendship really over?

Wow, you absolutely hate to see this. At one point in time, Boban Marjoanovic and Tobias Harris were inseparable. Literally.

They played for the Pistons, Clippers and 76ers together before Marjanovic was shipped off to Dallas. And, in that time, they became incredible friends with one another. They’ve done so much together over the years from teaching a Soul Cycle class to playing some cornhole in the NBA bubble and more.

One would think that a little distance between the two wouldn’t put a strain on their friendship, right? Especially with how close they were. Bobi and Tobi? Beefing? Yeah, right. Never.

Enter one Luka Doncic. Marjanovic’s teammate has become his new BFF, moving Tobias Harris out of the picture.

We saw the relationship growing and blossoming over time. The two were very clearly friends. And that’s fine! Friends can have friends. But they’re more than friends, though. They are best friends forever.

They made it official with these hoodies.

Wow. How could Boban? How could he? Tobias Harris chimed in on it.

Boban tried to apologize, but the damage was done. SHAME.

Way to ruin a good thing, Boban. Hope those hoodies were worth it, pal.

James Harden not interested in excuses after loss to 76ers

Landry Shamet stepped up on Saturday, and others will have to do so to help James Harden navigate without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

James Harden was the lone member of Brooklyn’s big three to take the floor on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers as Kyrie Irving deals with a finger injury and Kevin Durant sits out due to NBA health and safety protocols. But even after their 124-108 loss to the 76ers, The Beard wasn’t interested in using Durant and Irving’s absence as a crutch.

“A lot of guys that don’t have an opportunity go a lot of opportunity tonight, and it’s going to be that way for the next couple games depending on when they allow KD to come back and when Kai comes back,” Harden said on a Zoom call with reporters after Saturday’s loss. “So, no excuses for us. Guys got to step up and play big minutes and contribute. Obviously, we played against a really good Sixers team tonight. But, get some rest and try to get some wins.”

To no one’s surprise, Harden led the Nets with 26 points on Saturday, but it was a little bit of a stunner to see Landry Shamet to score 22 against Philly. A couple more performances like that from the reserve guard would go a long way over the next couple games.

Xavier Tillman started to turn a lot of heads around the country with his big game for the Grizzlies Saturday.

[jwplayer mKgJ519R-PROpJzTY]

One of the coolest stories of this NBA season has been the rise of Xavier Tillman. The former Michigan State Basketball star has been breaking out as part of the Memphis Grizzlies, seemingly setting new career-highs with each game and continuing to get more and more recognition as he has helped a Grizzlies team that has two injured stars remain in playoff contention.

The Grizzlies are now 6-6 after Saturday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers, and this game might have been Tillman’s coming out party for most of the country. Tillman had 15 points, 4 steals, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists against the Sixers, and he also sealed the game after forcing Tobias Harris out of bounds.

Below, we compiled some of the reactions on Twitter to a breakout game for Xavier Tillman:

Report: Former Warrior Alec Burks agrees to one-year deal with New York Knicks

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, former Golden State Warriors swingman Alec Burks has agreed to a contract with the New York Knicks.

One of the bright spots from a down hoops season in the Bay Area was the addition of Alec Burks to the Golden State Warriors. The veteran swingman averaged 16.1 points on 40.6% shooting from the field with 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 48 games for Golden State.

With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson dealing with injuries, Burks led Steve Kerr’s offense in scoring on 12 occasions. The Colorado Buffaloes product tallied 25 or more points eight different times during his stint with the Warriors.

At the NBA trade deadline, the Warriors moved Burks and Glenn Robinson III to the Philadelphia 76ers for a trio of picks. As the Sixers dealt with injuries, Burks played solid in the NBA’s Orlando Bubble.

Over seven games at Disney World, Burks averaged 14.6 points on 56.7% shooting from the field with 2.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Through the Bubble stretch, Burks shot exceptionally well from beyond the arc. On four 3-point attempts per game, Burks shot 57.1% from long distance. During Philadelphia’s playoff series loss to the Boston Celtics, Burks recorded a pair of double-figure scoring efforts.

After 18 games in Philadelphia, Burks is reportedly on his way to The Big Apple. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Burks has agreed to a one-year, $6 million deal with the New York Knicks.

Via @wojespn on Twitter:

Along with Julius Randle, Burks will join top draft picks Obi Toppin, RJ Barrett and Kevin Knox as the Knicks begin a new era with Tom Thibodeau and Leon Rose.
