Orlando Brown Jr. on the performance of Chiefs’ OL in Super Bowl LVII

Brown Jr. told Pat McAfee about the inspired play of the #Chiefs’ offensive line against the #Eagles in Super Bowl LVII

The Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII by a very thin margin due in no small part to the excellent play of their offensive line, which didn’t allow a sack for the duration of their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles’ vaunted pass rush.

Veteran tackle Orlando Brown Jr. took time during an interview on the Pat McAfee Show this week to talk about his unit’s performance and told the former All-Pro punter that he and his fellow linemen were able to tune out all the noise and play their best football on the biggest stage.

“You’ve been a player, so you know how it goes,” Brown explained. “You hear the talk, you hear everyone saying everything. Your coaches may say something here and there, coach Reid and everybody on staff does a really good job of not making anything too big. But, as players man, you know we take a lot of pride in protecting Patrick.

“Executing our gameplan on gameday. And, I mean, man, that Philly front is really good. They rush five rushers, so it’s one on ones across the board almost every single play. No one is getting help necessarily, even with chippers, you know what I mean? It’s still a tall task, and we were prepared, we came out with a great game plan, and wore… [them] out.”

Surely, after beating the NFC Champions, Kansas City is on top of the football world until the regular season starts later in 2023. If the team intends to get back into contention for another Lombardi Trophy, they will continue to rely on their offensive line to keep Mahomes upright and uninjured in the pocket.

Watch: Notre Dame debuts new light show in USC night game

Seems pretty boring, doesn’t it?

When Notre Dame played at Georgia in 2019 much of the viewing audience walked away in awe of the light show that was put on by the hosts.  Shortly after Alabama debuted something similar and countless teams in different sports have followed suit since.

Saturday night was Notre Dame’s chance to debut their fancy new light show which meant for a new team entrance and tradition to start the fourth quarter.  Check out both below.

The video of the team’s entrance is from Tyler James of ND Insider:

The start of the fourth quarter was something special featuring music from Kanye’s “All of the Lights” into DJ Kool’s “Let me Clear my Throat”.  I wasn’t in attendance but it looked awesome.

And I can only imagine how well it went over for the portion of the crowd that appeared scared and offended when “Jump Around” was blared a month ago at Soldier Field against Wisconsin.

ESPN confirms second season of ‘Peyton’s Places’

Peyton Manning is continuing his ‘Peyton’s Places’ project with ESPN, agreeing to film a second season.

Peyton Manning won’t serve as a commentator for “Monday Night Football” this fall but he’s going to continue his working relationship with ESPN.

Manning announced last month that ESPN hoped to film a second season of Peyton’s Places “once things get back to normal.” On ESPN’s official Twitter account on Wednesday, Manning announced that a second season has been officially confirmed.

“Hi there, Peyton Manning here,” Manning said in the Twitter video. “I’m here to celebrate National Day of Streaming. Now, you’re probably saying to yourself, ‘Isn’t every day National Day of Streaming these days?’ And I think you’re right — but this is actually the official one.

“So, in honor of the occasion, I’m thrilled to announce that Peyton’s Places will be returning to ESPN Plus for a second season. That’s right, so be sure to get ESPN Plus so you can stream Peyton’s Places Season 1 and get ready for the upcoming Season 2. Thanks very much, stay safe.”

The 30-episode first season received mostly positive reviews from fans.

Manning, 44, won Super Bowls with the Colts and Broncos during his 18-year career. He will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.

ESPN plans to make a second season of ‘Peyton’s Places’

Peyton Manning says Disney hopes to film a second season of ‘Peyton’s Places’ for ESPN Plus.

Can’t get enough of Peyton’s Places on ESPN Plus? Good news — the show is planning to film a second season!

“Telling the history of the NFL for the last 100 years was a lot of fun and hopefully, when things get back to normal, we’re going to shoot for Season 2,” Manning said during an appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Sunday. “[We’ll] finish some of the stories that we didn’t get to tell last year. So, hopefully once things get back to normal, we can get a chance to do that.”

Manning said breaking down film with Joe Nameth was the most memorable part of the series for him.

“To sit down and watch Super Bowl III with Joe Nameth, to watch the actual game film, I could have done that for a week,” Manning said.

The 30-episode show has received mostly positive reviews from football fans. Here’s what Cindy Ellenbecker had to say on Google:

I’d give 10 stars if I could. My husband was given the ESPN+ subscription for Christmas specifically so that he could watch Peyton’s Places. So far, we have seen about 7 of them and they are fantastic! Hearing the old stories, seeing the old clips and seeing Peyton Manning talking to the heros of football is priceless. Each segment is informative and humorous. You could not have found a better host for this tribute to the NFL’s 100th Anniversary! I hope that you will make this series available in a DVD set someday so that I can give it to my Dad who would love this but does not have a smart TV or computer.

Manning, 44, won Super Bowls with the Colts and Broncos during his 18-year career. He will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
