Dillon Gabriel expected to be one of the highest-rated players in EA Sports’ College Football 25

EA Sports College Football 25 is expected to drop in the summer, and Ducks QB Dillon Gabriel is will likely be one of the top-rated players.

It’s been more than 10 years since the last time a college football video game was on the horizon, but on Wednesday, EA Sports announced College Football 25 will be available in the summer.

Fans across the country, including myself, have already begun speculating what will be included in the new game and what will not. After all, college football looks completely different than in 2014, the last time we had an NCAA game. It will be interesting to see how EA implements the changes.

247Sports joined the speculation by guessing who the highest-rated returning players will be. It’s no surprise that running back Ollie Gordon, the 2023 Doak Walker Award winner, tops the site’s list (99 overall). Travis Hunter, the Colorado Buffaloes two-way star, is a 97 overall. And Dillon Gabriel, the next great Oregon quarterback, is a 94 overall, tied for the third-best QB on the list.

One aspect that will set Gabriel apart in EA’s new game is speed and elusiveness. Back in NCAA 14, there were few things more fun than running around with Gabriel’s childhood hero Marcus Mariota. Gabriel possesses many of the same running traits as Mariota. Of all the QBs on 247 Sports’ list, Gabriel and Jalon Daniels are the quickest, which will make Gabriel a lot of fun to play with.

Who should be the cover athlete for EA “College Football 25”?

On Thursday, EA Sports announced that “College Football 25” is coming in the summer of 2024. This marks the return of the popular video game franchise after a hiatus of more than 10 years.

This announcement immediately got us thinking about who the cover athlete should be. There are so many great players in college football from this past season, it wasn’t easy but we narrowed it down to our Top 5.

ESPN’s Field Yates labels Shedeur Sanders as the best pocket passer in college football last season

A notable ESPN analyst called Shedeur Sanders the best pocket passer in college football last season

Ahead of this weekend’s Super Bowl, NFL insider and ESPN analyst Field Yates joined the DNVR Buffs Podcast in Las Vegas to discuss Colorado football and more specifically, Shedeur Sanders.

In company with hosts Ryan Koenigsberg and Jake Schwanitz, Yates praised Colorado’s starting quarterback:

“What people are going to misinterpret is that he’s (Sanders) this dual-threat quarterback,” Yates said on the podcast. “I think he can run. I thought he was the best pocket passer in college football this past year. When he had time to throw, I thought he was the best pure passer in the whole country.”

Yates doubled down, placing Sanders above USC’s Caleb Williams, North Carolina’s Drake Maye and LSU’s Jayden Daniels. All three are potential top-five draft picks in this year’s NFL draft.

With Sanders returning to Colorado for his senior campaign behind a new and improved offensive line, he should have plenty of opportunities to back up Yates’ talk.

Colorado could produce the top two picks in next year’s NFL draft, Deion Sanders says

Deion Sanders believes NFL scouts will hound Colorado next season

While speaking to undergraduate students at the University of Colorado Boulder’s “Prime Time: Performance and Leadership” class last week, Deion Sanders shared that he anticipates NFL scouts to hound the Buffaloes next season.

Even more, Coach Prime believes that his son, CU quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter could be the first two names called in the 2025 NFL draft.

“We got, proposedly, the first and second pick of the whole draft, Sheduer and Travis, so every NFL scout is coming down,” Deion Sanders told the class (h/t Well Off Media). “But they’re not just gonna come for that, because I want them to see the smorgasbord of players that we have and the operation that we have.”

In their first year with the Buffs, Shedeur Sanders broke CU’s single-season passing yards record while Hunter earned the 2023 Paul Hornung Award as college football’s most versatile player. If they stay healthy and continue producing, the two Buffs stars should continue flying up NFL draft boards.

Colorado does have several other players who are worthy of NFL attention, as Coach Prime said. Those who come to mind include Jimmy Horn Jr., Will Sheppard, Shilo Sanders, Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig and others.

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders opting out of 2024 NFL Draft

Shedeur Sanders could be the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft.

In a move that was largely expected, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders took to X on Friday to inform football fans of his intention to spend 2024 in Boulder Colorado with his father and brother.

Sanders had a shot to be a top-five quarterback in an already loaded draft class at the position. After a breakout season quarterbacking what became one of the most hyped college football teams in recent memory, Sanders showed he had everything it took to be a signal caller at the next level. With yet another year at Colorado, and hopefully more talent this time, Sanders can potentially cement himself as the top quarterback in the 2025 class.

The 2024 NFL Draft class of quarterbacks still remains stacked at the top even without Sanders and could get even more loaded should fellow signal-caller Caleb Williams announce his intentions to enter this year’s draft. Should Williams declare we could see as many as five quarterbacks go in the first round.

Social media reacts to Deion Sanders’ sons looking to buy their father a mansion

Coach Prime’s sons are looking to buy their father a mansion in Golden

According to a recent Well Off Media YouTube Video, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders’ three sons are looking to buy their father a mansion in Golden.

In the video, Coach Prime was shown touring the massive house with Shedeur Sanders, Deion Sanders Jr. and others. It’s unclear if Shedeur, Deion Jr. and Shilo Sanders have officially purchased the mansion yet, but the gesture clearly made a strong impact on their father.

“My three sons had the thought process that they wanted me to see this,” Coach Prime said in the video. “That’s unbelievable. It almost provokes a tear.”

Check out the best social media reactions to the three sons’ generous gift:

Shedeur and Shilo Sanders walk runway at Louis Vuitton fashion show, meet Pharrell Williams

Shedeur and Shilo Sanders walked the runway at a Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris

Shilo and Shedeur Sanders have never been afraid of the spotlight.

On Tuesday, the two Colorado football brothers welcomed it even more as they walked the runway at the Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall/Winter 2024 Show in Paris.

Their multi-layer, camouflage outfits were part of a collection presented by singer Pharrell Williams. In a Well Off Media video documenting a rehearsal of the show, the Sanders brothers told Williams they wanted to be “multidimensional,” to which the legendary musical artist replied:

“You already are,” Williams said. “It’s just that society makes you think that you are not and you aspire to be other things but you guys do so many things already. So, you don’t want to be, if I were you, I would change that language. ‘I am multidimensional.’ You know what I’m saying? Let them know you’re already that.”

The Sanders brothers’ appearance at the Louis Vuitton show has already garnered its fair share of attention. And in case you don’t remember, their father, CU head coach Deion Sanders, made headlines in December of 2022 when he told his new team that he was bringing his own Louis luggage.

Top players who opted to return to college instead of entering the 2024 NFL draft

Top players who opted to return to college instead of entering the 2024 NFL draft

Most of the time when college players make an announcement about their eligibility and the NFL draft, it’s them declaring they’re leaving school and entering the professional ranks. But not everyone leaves early, not even when projected as a potential first round pick.

There are a few college players who opted to stay in the college ranks instead of declaring for the 2024 NFL draft. Here are some of the bigger names who opted to stay in school.

Shedeur Sanders, Jordan Seaton persuading Alabama players to join the Buffs

With Nick Saban retiring, Shedeur Sanders and other Buffs are persuading Alabama players to transfer to Colorado

Longtime Alabama head coach Nick Saban rocked the college football world on Wednesday as multiple reports confirmed he’s retiring.

In his 17 years with the Crimson Tide, Saban won over 200 games and six national championships. He also led LSU to a national title in 2003.

After the news broke, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders and several other icons of the sport congratulated Saban on his retirement.

Meanwhile, now that Alabama players have a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal, some Buffs players are already working to bring some Crimson Tide talent to Boulder. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, five-star incoming freshman Jordan Seaton and wide receiver Jaylen Ellis were among those who took to social media:

Shedeur Sanders attracted a huge crowd at the CFP fan fest

Colorado football star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the son of Buffs head coach Deion Sanders, has grown into a household name across the country.

After Shedeur Sanders’ impressive start to the 2023 season, he was even in the Heisman Trophy Award conversation before taking a step back, mainly due to the poor performance of Colorado’s offensive line.

Prior to Michigan beating Washington in the College Football Playoff national championship game on Monday evening, Sanders made his way to the CFP fan fest and attracted a huge crowd.

Take a look at what the scene was like in Houston when Sanders made his entrance:

Here’s another angle of the mayhem surrounding Sanders:

Sanders returning to Boulder next season makes a lot of sense as he should be one of the first QBs taken in the 2025 NFL draft.
