Must watch: Georgia football’s Mecole Hardman mic’d up during Super Bowl week

Watch as former Georgia football WR Mecole Hardman, now with the Kansas City Chiefs, lights up a room ahead of the Super Bowl vs the 49ers.

Mecole Hardman may be one of the most entertaining individuals in the NFL.

To go along with his incredibly outgoing personality and friendly smile is his pure athleticism and skill as a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hardman’s rookie season concludes with a trip to the Super Bowl in Miami where he will face one of the most ferocious defenses the NFL has seen in a long time. For Kansas City to come out on top, it could use some big plays from its speedsters on the outside – Hardman and Tyreek Hill.

While in Miami, the Chiefs kept a camera rolling on Hardman to capture the rookie’s true personality. The media team managed to cut it down to just over four minutes, but I’m sure there was a lot of great footage that was excluded in the final video.

Enjoy as Hardman lights up a room down in Miami at Super Bowl LIV Opening Night at Marlins Park.

The Bowman, Georgia native is about to wrap up a rookie season that saw him take the NFL by storm with his blazing fast speed. In 2019, Hardman, a former 2nd round pick out of UGA, reeled in 26 catches for 538 yards (20.7 YPC!!) and four touchdowns.

As a kick returner, Hardman makes both teams hold their breaths and punished the opposition who was daring enough to kick the ball his way. In addition to his six touchdowns, Hardman also added a 104 yard kick return.

Best of luck to #4 in the Super Bowl.

UGA football releases hype video for Mecole Hardman ahead of Super Bowl

Former Georgia Bulldog Mecole Hardman Jr. will be playing in Super Bowl LIV as his Kansas City Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers.

Former Georgia Bulldog Mecole Hardman Jr. will be playing in Super Bowl LIV as his Kansas City Chiefs face off against the dominant San Francisco 49ers. Hardman Jr. will play a big-role in the game. He’ll have a chance to provide to Chiefs with a spark with a return, catch, or jet sweep.

Games like this are why the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Hardman in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Chiefs were looking for another explosive receiver in their passing game to compliment Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, and Travis Kelce. Patrick Mahomes leads Kansas City’s offense, which is averaging 43 points per game in the playoffs.

The Chiefs face their toughest opponent of the 2020 postseason in the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are allowing 15 points per game in the playoffs. San Francisco features an elite pass rush and a stout secondary including Richard Sherman, arguably the best corner in the NFL. Sherman will match up with Kelce, Watkins, and Hill often, but will rarely face Hardman. This will give Hardman a unique opportunity to make a splash play in a championship game. When Patrick Mahomes gets enough time, will he and Hardman be able to hook up for the next big Super Bowl moment?

Hardman has made numerous big-plays this season and could make the difference with one the Super Bowl. Georgia football released a hype video of Hardman’s explosive play-making ability ahead of the Super Bowl:

Arguably the most exciting matchup of Week 12 and a potential NFC Championship game preview, the Green Bay Packers head West to take on the San Francisco 49ers Sunday evening in primetime. With both teams having a combined record of 17-3, this clash of two of the most successful teams in the NFL this season could go a long way toward deciding who will have home-field advantage in the NFC during the postseason.

Green Bay is coming off of its bye week, with its last game being a dramatic 24-16 victory in the snow over the Carolina Panthers. Aaron Jones was the difference maker in that game for the Packers, rushing for 93 yards and three touchdowns to help the Packers get a win in a game where Aaron Rodgers was largely held in check. Against the red-hot 49ers, the ability to find ways to score even if Rodgers isn’t at his best will be imperative, just like last week.

San Francisco got a 36-26 win over the Arizona Cardinals its last time out. It was the 49ers second win over the Cardinals in their last three games. The Niners were down 16-0 in the game, but stormed back and got a game-winning score with under a minute to play. Jimmy Garropolo threw for 424 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions in the win, but will need to avoid turnovers to take full advantage of Green Bay’s struggling secondary.
