2024 4-Star CB Selman Bridges plans to visit Texas A&M this Spring

It was reported that 2024 4-Star CB Selman Bridges is planning to visit Texas A&M later this spring

With the Maroon and White Spring game just around the corner, all eyes will be on the current Texas A&M Football roster ahead of the pivotal 2023 season but don’t think the 2024 recruiting cycle isn’t on the mind of Head coach Jimbo Fisher as visits begin to ramp up this spring.

The Aggies 2024 recruiting class is currently ranked 19th in the country with four total signees, including 4-Star OT Ashton Funk, 4-Star DL Dealyn Evans, 4-Star WR Debron Gatling, and 3-Star QB Anthony Maddox, already replicating their underrated 2023 class with the “quality over quantity” approach.

Earlier this week, it was announced that 4-Star CB Selman Bridges, one of Texas A&M’s primary recruiting targets, is set to visit the Aggies for a second time this spring, as the Temple, Texas native will embark on his final season Lake Belton High School, just a year removed from his 2022 season where he recorded 42 tackles, 6 PBUs, and 2 interceptions. Standing at 6-3, 170 lbs, Bridges has the makings of a lock-down boundary corner at the next level.

Bridges took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M on Jan. 28th, obviously developing enough of a liking to the program to garner a second visit. Either way, the Aggies are set up for one heck of a recruiting rush going into the next four months.

Friday Night Notes: Alabama offers top-5 QB, Texas favored for 2 blue-chip DBs and more

Now Nick Sabana’s staff is turning their attention to the QB class of 2025.

USA TODAY High School Sports‘ Friday Night Notes is a weekly high school recruiting recap that looks at the latest news from around the country—from the Class of 2023 to ’24 and beyond.

At the end of April, Alabama will be losing its starting quarterback, Bryce Young. The former Heisman winner is projected to be a top-five overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft and is the consensus No. 1 option among a deep class of QB prospects. Young’s exit will open up a spot at the top of the depth chart at the most important position in the game for the most-prestigious college football program in the country.

The work is of course already well underway to set up a line of successors. Alabama already has four other quarterbacks on their roster and two more coming in with their class of 2023. They also have a five-star recruit on deck in 2024 with Julian Sayin from Carlsbad (Calif.).

Now Nick Sabans’s staff is turning their attention to the QB class of 2025.

According to Roll Tide Wire, they’ve made an offer to Houston County (Ga.) four-star quarterback Antwann Hill, who is coming off an awesome Sophomore season. Hill threw for 3,663 passing yards and 40 touchdowns while completing over 70% of his passes.

It’s always tough to compete with Alabama in the recruiting game, but according to 247Sports, Hill does have offers from 22 other programs to choose from. He certainly seems to be enjoying the attention.

Going by the composite rankings, Hill (6-foot-5, 215 pounds) is ranked No. 5 among quarterbacks in his class and No. 57 overall in the nation.

Alabama offers 2024 CB Selman Bridges from Texas

2024 cornerback Selman Bridges received his latest offer from Alabama. He is a versatile prospect out of Temple, Texas.

Alabama has placed an emphasis on recruiting the Lonestar state over the years. That trend likely won’t end anytime soon as some of the nation’s top prospects come from that area. One of those top prospects is 2024 cornerback Selman Bridges.

Recently, Bridges received an offer from Alabama. In the past, the Alabama coaching staff has been able to land prospects from Texas like Tony Brown and Deionte Thompson.

Bridges plays football, basketball and runs track for Lake Belton High School. On the football field, he stood out during his junior season, tallying 46 tackles and two interceptions.

At this time, Baylor is trending to land Bridges with a 35.1% likelihood, according to On3’s RPM.

Nebraska makes offers to three blue-chip 2024 recruits

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have made offers to three of the top players in the recruiting class of 2024.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have made offers to three of the top players in the recruiting class of 2024.

On Wednesday, they extended an offer to Connally (Texas) five-star cornerback Kobe Black. He announced the news himself on Twitter.

Black (6-foot-0, 190 pounds) is ranked No. 2 among cornerbacks, No. 3 in the state of Texas and No. 20 overall in his class. He has 24 offers all together and Oklahoma State is the current favorite according to On3’s prediction model. Texas is the next-hottest candidate.

Nebraska also made an offer to Lake Belton (Texas) four-star cornerback Selman Bridges.

Bridges (6-foot-4, 170 pounds) has 10 offers to choose from and Arizona State is currently On3’s favorite. He is ranked No. 6 at his position, No. 11 in the state and No. 73 overall.

Husking corn is famously-hard work and they weren’t done yet.

Nebraska also extended an offer to Selman’s teammate, five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson.

Hudson (6-foot-0, 186 pounds) is ranked second among 2024 wide receivers and sixth overall in his class. He has 29 offers, including one from Alabama.

Nebraska has not yet gotten any commitments for this class under new head coach Matt Rhule, who comes to Lincoln by way of the Carolina Panthers – where he went 11-27 in three seasons before getting fired on October 10. Rhule has had much more success at the college level though, having built up previously bad programs at Temple and Baylor in just a few years.
